Dr. Thornton is an artist. I had a BL/BA (breast lift / breast augmentation) in August 2025. The results have exceeded my modest expectations. I was referred to him by my facial plastic surgeon in Fort Worth. This turned out to be the best referral I've ever received. I had a BL/BA in March 2022 by a different Southlake plastic surgeon. The results left my breasts looking *worse*. They were larger (thanks to the BA I was told was the only way to achieve upper pole volume - it isn't) and drooping more than pre-surgery. The areolas had also greatly expanded. I had a revision surgery in March 2022 with better results, but still had significant ptosis. The right breast implant was noticeably higher than the left. The left had fallen out of it's pocket and was slipping. The doctor was unwilling to listen to my concerns and tried to gaslight me into not believing my eyes. I had given up by the time I met Dr. Thornton in 2024. The consultation changed everything. He was gently honest that my results could be significantly better if my BMI were in a heathier range. At the time, I was 5' 1", 185#. He was NOT rude, condescending or taking any pleasure in telling me the simple truth. I appreciated his honesty and got to work. Improving my diet and increasing my exercise - in addition to reducing my nightly glass of wine to one glass every 3 - 4 months led to a dramatic transformation. I went back to visit Dr. Thornton in July 2025 at a healthy 120#. I wasn't just skinnier, I was healthier with proper nutrition, plenty of physical activity and a healthy mindset. We scheduled surgery for a month later. My expectations were set in a clear direction. Dr. Thornton acknowledged that he didn't know what he would find coming in after another surgeon. He was able to diagnose the slipped implant and had a plan on how to correct it. He wasn't going to over-promise and under-deliver. I felt secure in the knowledge that I was in capable hands. Fast forward a month and the results are BETTER than I could have dreamed. Recovery was so much easier than the previous two surgeries, even though the procedure was more involved and took longer. I credit Dr. Thornton's skills and his choice to use the Keller Funnel. Even before scar mitigation, my incisions are almost invisible. My breasts are sitting high on my chest and the implants are perfectly symmetrical. Communication is very important to me. Even if I had clicked with a surgeon, if his staff wasn't a good fit, I would have walked away. His nurse Tina is warm, caring, personable and reassuring. She's such an asset!! I sincerely appreciate the kindness and unending patience from Skylar and Courtney. Honorable mention: the surgery center Dr. Thornton uses, Mansfield Surgery Center is ultra clean, staffed with the kindest staff (shout out to Wendy and Michael). The anesthesiologist, Dr. Meiser was phenomenal. Bottom line: you will get out of the surgery what you put into it - follow your PS's directions, DON'T SMOKE, watch your nutrition, live a healthy, active lifestyle, ask questions and keep a positive attitude. read more

At my first consultation he made me feel confortable and listened to what I wanted .He gave me his suggestion on what he would do rather than Everything I wanted that would make me look to over done . I went to Dr. Thornton for a third opinion on a very noticeable scar from skin cancer removal. The original surgeon that removed the skin cancer had recommended reopening the scar to try for a less noticeable outcome. This scar is right down the middle of my cheek, and no amount of makeup could conceal it. I was not sure that reopening an incision on my face was the best option for a better outcome and sought a second and ultimately third opinion. Dr. Thornton was able to create a plan for revising the scar that involved injecting fat under the scar to plump it up even with the surrounding tissue. It worked! The scar is unnoticeable in most lighting and easily concealed by makeup. I still have a few more laser treatments to go, but overall very impressed with the outcome. read more

I went to see Thornton to ask a out a tummy tuck. After filling out all the paper work and talking to him for several minutes, he informed me that he doesn't do elective surgery on anyone with a BMI over 35 or A1C over 7.5. I told him about my 50 year struggle with obesity and he countered with, "What did you have for breakfast? Tell me the truth!" with a little grin, as if he were about to lecture a 3 year old for stealing a cookie. He also told me that he left general surgery for the practice he has now because he wanted an easier life without "calls at 2 AM" from complications. After telling me initially that nobody would do surgery on me, which made me despondent, he ended the conversation by saying that other surgeons might have different standards. I certainly hope so. I have received several treatments of Picosure from Fantastic Michele Fuentes. She is such an experienced and nice lady!! I have pretty obvious acne scars, in texture and also color. After listening to her suggestion of receiving 3 sessions and picosure and 1 session of Vitamin C chemical peel, my skin is getting much much better. Really satisfied with the result. I went to Dr T because a breast implant broke and I had a question about a scar, to see if it could be "fixed". There were MULTIPLE miscommunications, even though I was very careful to tell him the exact issues I've had in the past and we talked quite a bit about the procedure in advance. For your reference, I'm 5'2" and only 120lbs. at the most. So I'm NOT overweight to start out with and due to my size, the little things matter. I started out with symmetrical breasts and although my tummy scar was not great, it was even. Breast Augmentation - He recommended that we replace both implants since it had been over 15 years since my original surgery, which we did. I told him one breast was larger than the other and that my last doc had to use 15cc less in one breast, but I couldn't remember which and I though it was my left. I'm small, so this is a considerable amount. I also told him that I did NOT want larger breasts. I didn't know the size, so together we evaluated and he determined it was probably 450cc. After surgery he proudly told me that he overfilled BOTH implants by 15cc, and then said that my older implants were only 350cc. I was shocked. At my first follow up I told him my breasts were uneven, volume wise, it was very visible looking downward, and the larger breast was pulling my clothes crooked. He said that when he does replacements, he doesn't really evaluate the breast, it's just an in/out procedure (even though he charges the same price as if the surgery was for new implants). He also said that since he was fixing someone else's work, he had no way to tell, but they both looked fine when I was "lying on the table". ANY doctor knows that you must sit the person upright to fully evaluate the implant prior to ending the surgery. He then said it was due to swelling, when I knew I had hardly any. He said we would look at it later, which we did. He offered to try to "fix it" but said I'd have to pay for an entirely new surgery, which was obviously ridiculous. Scar Revision - I have a tummy tuck scar that was initially in a W shape. I told him that I wanted to know if it could be made straight across the bottom so that the fatty "pockets" at the bottom of the W points would not be there. He said yes, and that if it wasn't smooth, he would lipo a bit of the underside to make them smooth. After the surgery, I immediately noticed that one side still had a "pouch" when the other did not. It was as if he removed more skin from the one side compared to the other. It even felt like there was more skin on that side. I let him know right away and he said it was due to swelling. It did not go away. I reminded him about the lipo and he looked through his notes and then said, I don't have this in my notes. I could do some lipo, but you would have to pay for it. Was it my fault he didn't make note of his own words? I certainly can't update his chart for him! Oddly enough, both issues were on the left side of my body, as if he evaluated his work from one side only. I am extremely disappointed. The unevenness of my breasts causes my blouses and dresses to pull to the side which is very unsightly in business clothes. Every day I'm reminded of this, and apparently have to just deal with it. I feel that although he spent quite a bit of time with me discussing the procedures and my expectations, that he didn't really hear what I was saying. I admit that I'm a bit OCD, especially when it comes to things being symmetrical. I'm the person who adjust tables at restaurants so they line up with the bench seat. But I did tell him this before my procedures. I'm certain that my dissatisfaction partly comes from the fact that these differences are SO obvious to me, but I don't understand how I could have looked symmetrical before and then he couldn't even take the time to look at my breasts and my incision properly. I had to give the doctor one star on many of the items although he was accurate in his diagnosis and he made me feel that he listened to me,, but with a plastic surgeon, it's results that matter, not how I "felt" before the procedure. I didn't want a higher star rating to allude to my satisfaction in any way. I believe that it's common sense to expect a professional to do a professional job, and therefore I strongly urge you to find another doctor. read more

Dr. Thornton is the best! I was reading past reviews and to be honest, it makes me a little upset because I've had a great experience with Dr. Thornton. I went to a couple doctors, one of them in Arlington, years ago that seemed like all they cared about was the money and I really wanted to try Mansfield cosmetic surgery but I didn't think I could afford it. From day one, when I first called, his staff was amazing and very very helpful. When I went in to see him I was a bit nervous since I've been wanting breast augmentation for years and didn't want to sound like I wanted something over the top. But when I met him he was happy to meet me and made me feel very comfortable. And I will never forget how excited he was about my case, he really loves what he does and loves making people feel good about themselves. I've already recommended him to a few friends and I can't say enough good things about him and his staff. They're just amazing people. And I love Tina, she's made me feel so comfortable every time I go in. Oh and one of the things I love is that Dr. Thornton is a perfectionist like I am. As long as you have realistic expectations he would work until you're happy. And another thing I love about him, is that he's not afraid to tell you no. Every other doctor's office I've ever been to just care about money and are always trying to sell you something new every visit, but with this place I feel like they actually care about the patient and their results more than just money.
