This is NOT a review of Dr Hoang who is a great Derm but instead of the entire practice, United Derm. I used to see Dr Hoang 10 years ago before this practice grew into what it is now which is a cash cow conglomerate that operates more like medical care you would get in a socialist country. Can't get in touch with a live person when you call...they have outsourced to a terrible AI app that takes days to make a simple appointment. Appointments are available WAY out...a month or more for simple things. You will rarely ever see Dr Hoang herself...only her PAs are available. You would have a better chance of having a sighting of the royal family. When you actually do have an actual appointment, you will wait in a crowded waiting room and your appointment will occur about 45-60 mins after you scheduled. But don't you dare change your appointment or show up late bc you will be charged a $50 fee. 3 days ago, I called to make an appointment for my daughter. No live person was available. I was directed to a link they sent me via text that took me to their very inept and incapable AI app that does nothing but allows you to text the office. You get a response 1-2 days later. Via this process I find out I have a balance of $125 from a year ago, the last time we went. I was never called about this balance...they simply communicated this to me via this app that I never check (why would I?). This charge of $125 would be a simple fix w my insurance but no one ever called me. So now their app won't let me schedule an appointment for my daughter because they send the outstanding bill to collections! Since the day of treatment was over a year ago, it's likely insurance won't cover it. Well guess who else won't? Me. They should have called me instead of relying on their inept, inadequate texting AI SYSTEM. Do I think the providers here are good at what they do? Yes. However, their system has grown too large, too quickly and what you are left with is an experience that would mimic very much what you would expect to get in Canada. No thanks. I had a skin cancer diagnosed by Dr Hoang and she told me to have Dr Arshanapalli schedule a MOHS procedure to remove it. It was on the right side of my nose and Dr Arshanapalli after 3 layers removed it so margins were cancer free. He had to take cartilage from the back of my ear to make sure my nose would not collapse and cause breathing issues. Although more removal than I expected, the people from the nurses, doctors and staff were outstanding and I thank them for a positive outcome read more

Highly recommend this office for a year skin check. I have prior experience working in Dermatology and this office has it truly figured out. I was a little late to my appt (15-17 minutes) because I went to the wrong location (make sure you're checking which office - because they have a few) but they still took me gladly. I really appreciated that because a lot of offices do not work with you. After getting inside the paperwork is quick and easy on an iPad. I was called back very quickly - especially for being late to my appointment. I saw the PA Tiffany and she was amazing. She addressed every concern that I had and spoke with me about the topical face treatment that I was needing. She did a thorough skin check, checking every spot that I had on my body. She was not rushed but efficient. I felt that if I had more concerns that she would have stayed and talked with me about each of them - however, I only had a few concerns. It was a quick in and out appointment - which I appreciated. I would highly recommend going to her for your Dermotology concerns. The Medical Assistant was also awesome (I wish I could remember her name) and even spoke with me about personal things that I asked because we live near the same area. Very personable office! Stopped here to see Jason the PA and he listened to her concerns, put her on a new treatment regimen and set her up for allergy testing. Overall great experience. This is a 2-part review: 1st- The staff are very polite and the dermatologist that helped me was to the point and a nice guy, which I am good with. I rate the office and staff 4.5 out of 5. The 2nd part- This is the part I rate a 1 out of 5. So they had me go into the room and get undressed. The dermatologist walks in and tells me what he's about to do. Everything is still great up to this point thus far. So he does his scanning and checking and then says he wants to take a further look at 2 things. He gets his needles and numbs the area and then cuts what he wants to do Testing on. Still good up to this point. Then it comes time to leave and check out. I get back to the desk, and the young lady tells me my co-pay and then tells me the balance after the co pay is almost $400!!! No warning, no discussion about costs, no heads up... nothing... just here you go, that'll be $400! Like, who the heck walks around with $400 on a whims notice? This threw me back a little bit. It's not like I can say no to the service. I was already cut up. I just wish there would have been a discussion to prepare me for the BANG! **UPDATE** I had to go in for a follow-up and treatment from the first visit. Dr. Jason came in and sat down and discussed my concerns from my original review. The fact that he actually read my review and then took the time to discuss it with me speaks volumes. He explained everything to me and then broke down my treatment plan. I've very appreciative that he took the time to address a problem and fix it.. so thank you! I've been coming for at least 6 years and always had a nice experience. I came at first for acne and after a few hit and misses we found a treatment that worked for me and was easy AND affordable. It felt so good to finally get my acne under control! I then moved into some Botox for some very prominent "11s" on my forehead. I have added a little for smile laugh lines and I am so happy with the results. I have done skinpen micro needles 4 times and one peel over on the cosmetic side. I am rarely left waiting for long (does happen from time to time) and always happy with the services. read more

Asked me to make a follow up appointment for 3 months, I said I didn't feel comfortable making an appointment that far out without knowing school/athletic schedule and they assured me it was okay to make an appointment and cancel when called to verify it. Today I decided to change dermatologists and leave United Dermatology Associates. I have been with them for several years, driving 45 minutes to their office, frequently. Today I was on hold for 22 minutes waiting to make an appointment. The robot suggested I press 9 to leave a message so their staff can call me back but the '9" didn't do anything. At my last appointment the office wanted to make another appointment but I told them I would have to call them when I got home. Well, that was a fiasco. I called and was told that someone else would have to call me back. That call back was the next day and the person was very confused and thought I was a new patient. I have complained about the way this office handles calls but nothing has changed which leads me to believe this doctor nor the staff doesn't care about their patients. It is ridiculous that in this day and age a better customer service approach isn't used by this doctor's office. My time is just as important as those in this office. read more

Worst experience ever...and I didn't even go into the office. First off, there is no way to speak to a live human being, they do everything by voicemail and text. So frustrating. This is new. But, I made an appointment with Lisa O, whom I have seen for 15 years, and she is the greatest. On the morning, driving to their office, I got a text (of course) from Rosa, 10 minutes before my appointment: "we are not in your insurance network, I have cancelled your appointment, and I am leaving the office for the day". This is SO wrong on how many levels? 1) They can't call? It has to be text? I was driving! 2) They ARE in my network. They are on the Cigna website, I have seen Lisa O for years. If they quit taking Cigna, they should notify Cigna 3) Why not call me and see if I want to go self-pay? 4) This person, managing the office, is leaving the office for the day at 9:05 in the morning? I really liked Lisa O, but I hope she goes with a different practice that cares about patients. read more

This was a great place to be examined. I read the reviews and some actually make no sense to me. Who cares about insurance mess ups, ok. Make sure they take your stuff first. Communication is key. Anyway, the staff was trained well in my opinion. The Dr. was great (don't call her Doc) I won't give her name. She was wonderfully forgiving and refreshingly honest and and mostly she was genuinely concerned for my well being. A quality most desirable in her profession I would think. I have been seeing Dr. Hoang for probably 5+ years now to help with preventative aging and she is the best! I tried going to see other doctors as I am not local to Texas and have been so upset by those experiences. She always listens to my concerns and makes tweaks based off my input. Easy parking, friendly staff, and clean facilities - especially during the pandemic (loved the 'clean pen' and 'dirty pen' cups). I also recently tried a hydrafacial with Shelly for the first time and was very happy with the results. The ambiance of the room was calming and I had fun chatting with Shelly throughout the process. Well..:I used to love Dr. Jeanine Hoang but lately things seemed to have changed. The wait to get in is 30 minutes to an hour and half past appointment time. That to me is not acceptable! I originally started my laser hair removal process in 2021 somewhere else, and I had the most painful experience there. That location was using a wand with rounded laser technology and would need touch-ups during the session causing me to be in more pain over and over again, and they actually left me a scar. My pain tolerance is fairly high, but I would be in pain for about an hour every session and I ended up giving up by the third session at that location-- NOT affiliated with this practice at all btw. So I was super hesitant and even anxious about giving Brazilian laser hair removal another shot, and I was about to throw in the towel until I found this place online a few months ago, and I'm so happy I gave this place a chance! The staff is super friendly, the location is beautiful and clean, and the front desk is also very informative. Scheduling/rescheduling has never been an issue over the phone, and I am so glad I met Jasmine. She always makes me feel super comfortable, answers alll of my questions, and Jasmine even provides extra information. I believe the machine they use at this location is the Lumenis Splendor X for laser hair removal, and from my understanding, it uses square technology which prevents the need for touch-ups during a laser session. It also has a very noticeable cooling system that blows cool air with the laser , so I hardly felt anything during our BRAZILIAN laser hair removal sessions. There were so many times when I didn't even realize Jasmine had started the process and she's also VERY quick, which is a big bonus for me, and the swelling was minimal. I'm in love with my results! I highly recommend this practice and Jasmine for all your laser hair removal needs! read more

Chose the business because I know a person that works with company. I called to make my appointment and specifically said I was not in the market for cosmetic procedures but was very concerned with having a thorough exam for skin cancer and skin conditions. The nurse practitioner who did my "exam" was in the room for less than 10 mins, visually "inspected" my entire body by turning me around and peeking under the paper dressing. She appeared to be in the business for the benefit of cosmetic enhancers of her face. I don't have anything against those, I have had them and may again be in the market down the road. However, I am very disappointed in the new patient full exam. I had to pull out of her answers to my skin problems. I'll have to find another office and hope my insurance will cover another full exam so I can have a detailed inspection for skin cancer concerns. read more

I have been a patient here for about 6 years and I HIGHLY recommend this office. In fact, I have sent several of my friends there too ! Each time I get my yearly skin check, I'm always relieved to know that everything is clear and nothing is suspicious, however, several of my friends haven't been as lucky. Two different friends had gotten skin checks elsewhere and felt they needed a second opinion. Thank goodness they did because BOTH had early stages of basal cell skin cancer ! The providers here are TOP NOTCH ! I have had to wait to be taken back into a room, but I expect that since they are a specialist office. When we went in the office, they said they couldn't treat him, so how come they didn't just let us know on the phone before trying to get us in if that was the case. I had such a wonderful experience getting vascular laser treatment with Marla and tear trough filler with Lisa. I didn't bruise with either procedure and both were virtually painless. I've had several filler treatments in the past and this was the only one that corrected my tear trough defect. Staff was so nice and accommodating. Wow, where do I begin. Bottom line, I have been dealing with a extremely itchy rash for over 18 months and the office and PA's do not share my sense of urgency. I've been told more than once that "the results of your biopsy are not back yet", when in fact a day before someone else told me they were. One time a PA called me back with the results of a test and after telling me what they found, she just sat there waiting for me to speak. I said "do you not know my issue? Please tell me what we can do next.", I shouldn't have to tell her that in my opinion. My issue may be unique in that there seems to be no decisive answer to what is ailing me, but please, show some urgency on my behalf! I asked to have my last food allergy test examined by the Doc to see if he concurs with MY evaluation of the results that came to me by email, and I still have not received that after they've had it for over a week. I now have to wait 3 weeks to get the next allergy test administered, which can only be done by one person in the whole practice?? Again, I have an itchy rash that has been plaguing me for over a year and a half, all over my torso, groin, buttocks, etc. Where is the help??!! Going elsewhere. read more

I have tried this office several times hoping it would get better and it hasn't so this is my last time visiting. I originally had a yearly skin checkup a couple of years ago and the PA I saw said, "cool!" "awesome!" as he went over each mole or freckle and the whole visit was about two minutes and it didn't seem very professional or thorough. It felt more like a frat guy doing my appt than a professional in the medical field. A year later, I saw a couple of other PAs who were very helpful and nice. I had to get a small bump removed and the PA removed it but then I had concerns it was coming back a couple weeks later. I tried calling the Mansfield office over the course of several days at different times and no one ever picks up the phone and then you can't leave a message because the voicemail is full but they sure can send medical bills immediately without any delay. I sent a request on the website for a call and I never heard back and due to a name change and the front desk putting it in wrong, I wasn't able to get into the portal to send a message. I called the line after hours and they put in a request for the Mansfield office to call me and the office never called me and it's been almost a week now. Yesterday morning, I received a phone call that my PA who was going to look at my incision and bump was out sick. I totally understand that and that's perfectly fine. However, I took that morning off from work to go to this visit and it's something I'm concerned about that needs to be looked at so they should try their best to get you in at another location if there isn't anything available in Mansfield. The front desk says the only person available is the PA from the first visit who I didn't want to see and he seems to be the only one who is ever available. I told her I will go to another office if possible and explain my frustration with trying to get in sooner and they don't answer the phone or messages in the Mansfield office. I told her I was charged $150 to remove the bump yet I'm still having issues and only the medical asst looked at me when the suture was removed and she said that's normal practice. Is it normal to not have a Dr or PA look at the incision to ensure the bump is completely gone and they did a proper job? She tells me she can squeeze me in in Burleson at 3 but says you'll probably wait a long time because that provider is slow. I told her great, 3:00 is great. I take off at 2:30 to drive all the way to Burleson for their front office to tell me the appt was canceled. The lady working the front desk in Burleson was very accommodating and wonderful and understood the frustration and she worked me in but I had an appt at 3 and wasn't seen until 5:00 due to the carelessness of the Mansfield staff. I would not recommend this business. They can take your money but they lack organization and professionalism. read more

My husband and I both took off work for a morning appointment for him, and nearly an hour after the appointment time, we were still waiting with NO communication from the desk staff and EVERYONE else in the waiting room having gone back already. Even those that came in after us. The front desk staff was eating behind the desk with no apparent regard. We were both very nervous anticipating this appointment, and we didn't even get to see the doctor. When my husband approached the desk, he was told that all of this doctor's rooms were full, so clearly there's a scheduling problem here. The doctor may or may not be great, but we'll never know because the front office staff ruined your chances of our business. This is no way to treat new patients. read more

I highly recommend UDA. My husband saw Dr Hoang with an itchy spot on his back that didn't look like anything. She took precautions and did a biopsy which ultimately led to a diagnosis of metastatic melanoma. He was able to get into a study for Stage 3 cancer patients and received life saving treatment. We will be forever grateful. Also Lisa Moody has taken care of some basal cell carcinoma on me and does an amazing job with my cosmetic treatments to boot! read more

I got there 10 minutes early, since I haven't been here in awhile, I knew there would be some paperwork to update my records. They got me back, in and out in under an hour at the Arlington location. PA Tiffany was professional and cordial, recommended that I re-apply sunscreen since I'm outdoors an extended amount of time. I know if I wanted to be seen by Dr. Hoang the wait would be longer, but it's an annual skin check and the PA are well trained and can always ask Dr. Hoang if they have any questions or concerns. read more

I don't often write reviews but this is my fourth visit, every time I have to wait 20-30 minutes before being seen. Appointments have to be scheduled very far in advance along with a $50 deposit. Being timely is very important to me and a reflection of professionalism and respect for others. They do a great job, but my time is very valuable and ALMOST not worth the wait. If I could give this place zero stars I would! I saw Dr. Chan on November 11, 2014 for dysport. That was okay, but, for the record, it was the shortest acting set of injections I have ever received. The office advertises as a "posh" place and it was extremely dumpy in appearance and in no way resembled a facility that caters to the upscale (I am a former nurse and worked for a plastic surgeon, so I had expectations). While talking with her, I mentiioned that I wanted to make sure I was doing everything I could for my melasma and wanted to know if I needed to be doing any maintenance photo facials. Dr. Chan informed me it would be an additional $50 for the "medical" consult and I agreed since I thought I would get good information. She literally did not look at my face and told me that I needed to be wearing sunscreen...I was charged $50 for a 2 minute consult...Dr. Google is more informative than this girl! Not only that, I am a veterinarian and she proceeded to ask for free advice about her cat...what??!! So, the front desk said I didn't owe anything...whatever. Now, 5 MONTHS later, I get a bill for $103!! What the heck?? I will NEVER go back to this place and I wouldn't recommend it to anyone! read more

Don't recommend-- the PA did a biopsy on my face 3 yrs ago and I still have a small hole the left side -of my face--she told me it was likely cancer before sending it to pathology- no scar cream or ointment was given or recommended- I went to another dermatologist and of course it was not skin cancer I'm so angry about this Please be careful ASK questions before you let them do a biopsy ASK what it will look like afterwards I now have spent a lot of money fixing that area-and have undergone 3 procedures to make that area look better read more
