Also, when she wants to be seen for an acute illness, she has to wait a couple of days. The office has a serious scheduling problem that they seem to have no interest in correcting.

I waited over an hour at my first visit (as a new patient) and over 30 minutes at my second. I paid $158 for the first visit and $118 for the second (my insurance my problem), which I was told would be a consultation for pellet placement. After discussing my history at length, I was ultimately told that because I am still menstruating, their BioTE program would only allow a testosterone pellet--not the estrogen therapy I came in seeking. My provider even consulted her supervising physician seeking an exception and I was still denied. This practice relies solely on a computer program for dosing and not symptom dosing which is what the most recent evidence based research states to do. I completely understand that a practice can have its own treatment protocols. My issue is that this limitation was not communicated to me before I paid for a second appointment. I would not have incurred the additional expense had I known the treatment I was seeking was not an option. Overall, I left feeling that my time and money were not respected. This clinic is for menopausal women or women who have had a hysterectomy. Biote (the computer program) does not treat perimenopausal women who are menstrating with estrogen deprivation symptoms and neither does Marcos Medical group.

The…read moreoffice was clean, I was seen on time, and the physician in training who saw me before Dr. G was outstanding: thorough, thoughtful, and attentive. That first visit was so positive that I even recommended the practice to my mom, aunt, and sister. Everything after that was the opposite. It took multiple calls to get my prescriptions sent correctly after they were sent to the wrong pharmacy and most weren't sent at all, and we'll call you back took days. Then, When my lab results were ready, I called and was told they could simply be emailed to me, and they were. A few hours later, I received a notice that I had missed an appointment and was being charged a $35 no-show fee. I called the next morning, explained the misunderstanding, and was told to come in Friday to review my labs. On Friday, the receptionist handed me paperwork for an annual wellness visit I never requested and had recently completed. When I tried to explain I was there only for a lab review, she repeatedly interrupted, waved me back toward the waiting area and simply repeated multiple times that was what I was scheduled for. I said I did not request a wellness visit. I was told I would be charged another no-show fee despite being there in front of her if I didn't have this procedure done (despite having had it done recently). When I asked about the attitude, she laughed and said "I'll go get my lead", I never asked for a supervisor. The receptionist left and returned with the office lead, whose first words to me were, "What do you need?" She did not ask what happened, only repeated the policy and said I would be charged. I asked if I could briefly speak with Dr. G about the scheduling error. I was told no. I asked to simply leave my phone number so Dr. G could call me later so I could share my feedback, and while I was finishing writing it, the office lead demanded I go sit down to finish it or threatened to call the police. THREATENED TO CALL TGE POLICE, when there is nobody behind me, when I didn't raise my voice or curse, I wasn't asked to leave, simply because I was unhappy paying a no show fee for showing up to a type of appointment I didn't request. There were no patients waiting behind me, and I said repeatedly that I was happy to leave if that was what they wanted. While she had the police dialed she went back and Dr. G eventually came to the front. I appreciated that, but before I could explain, I was told I couldn't disruptive as she was arriving (I wasn't even speaking to her yet) and she referred any feedback back to the office lead. After seeing the same behavior from the doctors as the tone deaf staff, I left because it was clear my concerns were not going to be heard and the staff is one that escalates simple matters. This was a scheduling misunderstanding, not a safety issue. A receptionist or office lead should listen, clarify, and de-escalate, not jump straight to threatening to call the police. Because of how this was handled, I called my family and told them not to become patients. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend this office to others or trust it with my family's care.

My husband was told he had to come in for an appointment the following day; not sure what the hurry was. I also asked him to turn in a printed copy of my medication list as I no longer trusted them. When he returned, he told me it was a good thing we brought a printed copy because they didn't have it. Upon arrival I was greeted and handed the patient paperwork in a prompt manner. The wait was about 30 minutes. So not terrible, and the waiting area had a beautiful big fish tank and peaceful feel to the atmosphere. The lady who did my blood work was a pro for sure. I have very small veins, and I'm always scared I'm gonna get poked up and leave looking like a Michael Myers victim. But she did it on the first try and with very little pain. Anytime I had questions about procedures I was given detailed answers and handed a booklet with even more info as well. They are very friendly and very thorough here, and I left feeling well educated and in good hands.
