I am very disappointed! I ordered 3 pillows .First they made one in the wrong fabric! Then I had given them a sample of the size of welting I wanted. They disregarded it and made the pillows with a much BIGGER width welting so that they look comedically! I have so much money invested in these pillows now but these guys have worn me out! read more

5 stars for the headliner replacement service, 2 stars for the customer service. I went there once and the manager was not there and he is the only one that talks to customers. Called a couple of times later and still not found him. Came back on a Friday, manager said that he could make an appointment for the next Friday,I just needed to stop by and make a deposit to confirm the appointment at least 24hrs before it. So I did that Wednesday. When I got there Friday morning he said he could not do the replacement because he did not work Thursday and did not know about the deposit. After some stressed moments one of the employees heard the conversation and proposed to go get the fabric himself when I was just about to give up. read more

I wish I could give these guys SIX stars!! I've used Manuel's for the past 5 years for work at both my home and business. Their work is impeccable, with fast turnaround and great customer service. Two years ago they totally transformed my living room furniture, and the year before that my family room furniture. New fabric, new stuffing, different feet - my furniture came back BETTER than new! When I've used them at my business I need super fast service. I drop off the cushions in the morning and get them back the same day. They realize how important speed is for me, and go out of their way to help me out, still delivering the same quality finished product. Not sure why another reviewer referred to their location as "shady" - they are behind some shops on Escondido Blvd, in a row of garages. A little messy, but not scary, not threatening, and certainly not shady. This is an upholstery shop in Escondido, not Nordstrom at the mall. They have a ton of upholstery fabric books to look through, and there are usually some finished pieces sitting around so you can get a look at their work. The best compliment I can give these guys is to say that I would recommended them without any reservation whatsoever. read more

Amazing! Manuel upholstered an imported Italian antique sofa set and it turned out so well. Their craftsmanship is exceptional and they have the best prices in San Diego. Manuel even let me borrow his fabric books but also told me that I should try Jo-anns because it might be cheaper; talk about being a nice person. He personally measured, picked up, upholstered, and delivered the sofa set. The turnaround was longer than promised but they had unforeseen circumstances. I hired Manual's upholstery shop in Escondido July 2014 to recover several furniture items. 2 Leather barstools, a bathroom vanity chair, and my sofa, the arm rest area & micro fabric was worn out which needed new padding. I was given a very reasonable price for the labor and materials. Manual called earlier than planned and told me everything was completed. He picked up and delivered my furnitre back and I WAS VERY SATISFIED with the quality of his companies workmanship! Everything looked fantastic! Several months ago they had a fire at Manuel's Upholstery and they never contacted me about my chair that burned in the fire. The owner has never been in contact about reimbursing me for my chair and additional repairs that I had completed on the chair even after visiting his shop. Too little too late. read more

Manuel's Upholstery has reupholstered multiple chairs for us twice, once about 18 years ago and again recently. The quality of their workmanship was OUTSTANDING both times. The 4 chairs they reupholstered 18 years ago still look like new despite daily use. They don't have a showroom, just a workshop, but they have a large variety of materials to choose from and they really go above and beyond to exceed your expectations (adding additional padding to seat cushions, improving the appearance of wood parts of the furniture that are not upholstered when possible, etc.). In addition to excellent craftsmanship, their prices are exceptionally reasonable and they do a good job communicating with the customer regarding the progress of your project. This is a small outfit which has been in business for 40+ years because they provide an outstanding value to their customers.
