I brought a very, very old wingback chair that has been in my family for over 70 years to MTM for a makeover in October of this year. It was in sad shape after following me around the country with my husband's military career for thirty years. I always remember my mother and her mother sitting in it. Obviously I was nervous because the chair was so special to me. I could not be happier with the personal care they took of my antique. They replaced all outer coverings, redid the woodwork perfectly, and brought my chair back to "gorgeous" condition which will add at least another 70 years of use. MTM are a family orientated team and really took good care of me. I highly recommend this business for their quality, professionalism and customer service. The store owner took a personal interest in my project and completed the work on it himself--impressive. To him, it just had to be right. His mother kept me up to date on the status of the job and watched over the work carefully. The chair has very intricate curves and folds but the absolute perfection of the end product was amazing. MTM reupholstered an old draftsman's chair my father in law used in the garage. We were in need of a kitchen counter stool and everything we found was poorly built. It's not that their work wasn't any good, although some of the stitching wasn't matching my other faux leather chair. The real problem was that they did not order enough of the fabric that was a perfect match to the existing fabric. And instead of ordering more of the correct fabric, they unbelievably used a totally different fabric, one I specifically did not like, on the seat and back of the chair, while the arms and backside were the proper fabric. , now there are two distinct fabrics on this and the footrest is now also that horrible reddish brown no texture fabric. Who does that? Like I would not notice. I paid them $300 for a two toned upolstered chair, which does not match the second chair. I don't know why I didn't just refuse to pay the remaining 30% of the damned bill. Probably because I wasn't ready to do battle with such blatant ignorance. I could not believe they did that. Both chairs are now in storage and I will have them both redone, in the ONE fabric of my choice. But sure as hell, not by MTM Upolstery. 99% fail! :( read more

This place is quite possibly the biggest rip off in Vista! Got a quote for my truck to upholster the entire inside they quoted me 2000 bucks I thought was a bit high but I decided to do it. Now when it was completed it came out to a bit over 4000! I was not happy but they really did an incredible job. Now fast forward a few months I called these guys for a canvas boat cover, this time I personally went and got a quote and they told me 625 + or - a hundred dollars. That sound fair so I made an appointment and took the boat to them. Now the next day I get a call informing me it's now 2800! These guys seem to do good work but you definitely pay 3 times the amount you do anywhere else. read more

I dropped my car, Mercury Mariner off this morning to get the headliner replaced. It was ready at 4:30 for pickup. It looked like the new original was installed. I didn't pay extra for the visors to be done but they did them anyway so everything a perfect match. The even did a very thorough cleanup of the dash and vacuumed the front area so it was nice and bright. I'm very pleased with the quality craftsmanship, not to mention the price was much better than another bid here in Oceanside. read more

I choose to get my sectional couch reupholstered, and before I selected MTM I compared labor, delivery, and prices with two other more well known places. MTM is just up the street from UFO Fabric Outlet so it was super convenient to be able get the fabric and the labor close together. MTM was the only place who offered a reasonable price and they were also able to pick up my couch and deliver me my newly upholstered couch in less then a week, with no added pick up and delivery fee. They did a fantastic job. The couch looks great! I had a little extra fabric left over and they made me 4 matching pillows for my couch. Nice surprise. Friendly service. Very personal. I have a 2001 Volvo with leather seats. There were cracks in just the middle section on the driver's side. They replaced that section and matched the leather so perfectly that I cannot tell it from the rest of the seat. The trim around the moonroof had degraded and they replaced it expertly.
