I visited Many More Asian Market in the Strip District. They have a really wide selection, which I appreciated--definitely a great place to find a variety of Asian products. However, my experience with customer service wasn't the best. Some of the older staff members seemed unfriendly and communication was a bit difficult, which made the visit less welcoming. In terms of Asian supermarkets in Pittsburgh, this is probably the best that it's gonna get. It has about 90% of everything you need to make your Asian inspired, home cooked meals. The only thing that I wish they stocked would be fresh seafood options to make sushi and sashimi at home. Otherwise, Many More has a decent selection of seafood and meats, from snails to cow tongue. And honestly, this place probably has the best Cantonese BBQ items in town, from roasted duck, cha sui, to tofu fa. You really can't get these items anywhere else in PGH, trust me, I've looked! Many More Marketplace is a really interesting place to shop. It's packed with products, with a much larger selection of Chinese items than Korean, and wandering the aisles feels very similar to being in a Chinatown supermarket. I went in searching for a specific Korean ingredient (gochujang), and at first it was hard to find--most of the chili pastes I saw were oily or not quite the right type. The store isn't particularly customer-service focused, so getting help wasn't easy. I asked someone stocking shelves, but he didn't speak English and seemed busy. After taking some time to explore more thoroughly, I eventually found exactly what I needed. Once you understand the layout a bit, the variety is impressive. There's an enormous selection of items you don't see in typical grocery stores, and it's genuinely fun to look around. If you enjoy browsing international markets and don't mind being a little self-sufficient while shopping, this place is worth checking out. We stopped by on Sunday afternoon to try out the items in their cafe/food court and while there are plentiful tables, it was a little tough to get one big enough for eight people but we managed. WOW. I am going back. I feel like I am in H Mart in San Francisco except it is better organized. We went there for a prepared meal for dinner. Often in Pittsburgh, restaurants i want to go to are closed Sunday, Monday and Tuesday. Or they close at 3. This place has great hours. You will be distracted by the clean huge market, which is why I am going back. Restrooms are spotless, a good sign. There is free parking off of Spring St. Turn left upon entering for the prepared food. I found ordering confusing so we looked for things posted. First you pay, then they give you a beeper. We got DanDan noodles. Mild or spicy? Well I know what Asian spicy often is so i asked the person at the register. She took one look at me and said mild. MY MOUTH WAS ON FIRE. But oh so good. Hubby had seen a "special" with pork. It was nice chunks of pork flavored with 5 spice powder, a purple thing that I thought was a potato but was a delicious hard boiled egg, some sort of other stuff that I thought might be tofu but it seemed too mushy for that. Then I spied mushroom soup. Got a quart of that and glad I did. It reminded me in a way of hot and sour soup. Everything was delicious. If I had any complaint, it would be not being sure what was a meal vs ordering a pound of something like the duck. I wanted to get a Bento Box but she asked me something that I didn't understand. I did not see chopsticks but again first time here, everything was confusing but worth it. I am glad I brought freezer bags because I am getting more to bring home. Had lunch there and ordered half roast duck. Fair price for the food. A little bit oily but quite delicious. They have a quiet variety of offerings including many Chinese medicine materials. Given its size, I was hopeful that this Asian market may carry the "Wei Re Shan Qiu" pineapple pie - I am a big fan of them and I've seen them in NYC and Toronto. My go to Asian grocery store. I am so happy Many More expanded and includes a food court with so many more grocery options than before. The new location reminds me of the major grocery stores I would find in Flushing, Queens, and their increased inventory makes buying Asian specialty ingredients a breeze. Their Cantonese BBQ meals (menu pictured below) is amazing and I am SO happy authentic Cantonese BBQ is in pgh now. I'm writing this as a regular customer of this local business, which makes this experience especially disappointing. I've supported this store multiple times in the past, but after my most recent visit, I will be taking my business elsewhere. At the customer service counter, the young woman working there repeatedly rolled her eyes while I was asking a simple question. Her tone was dismissive from the start, and she eventually raised her voice and yelled at customers instead of helping. There was no attempt to listen, clarify, or de-escalate -- just visible annoyance and hostility. This kind of behavior is completely unacceptable in a customer-facing role, especially for a local business that depends on repeat customers. Customer service should make people feel welcome, not attacked for asking questions. I don't understand why someone with such poor communication skills and no sense of basic courtesy is placed at the customer service desk. One interaction like this is enough to undo years of goodwill. I've chosen to stop coming here and will support other local businesses that treat their customers with respect. Management should take this feedback seriously, because experiences like this are exactly why loyal customers leave. read more

Tbh I think their hot food is a little hidden gem within Pittsburgh! We have eaten all over the strip and I think this place has some of the most flavorful options. We tried the dan dan noodles and I thought they had a good spice to them (I have a pretty high spice tolerance so it's hard to impress me). I always liked their old location and know I am going to love the new one when it is completely up and running. They were still unpacking and it was chaotic but that is understandable. It's a beautiful new facility: One drawback - the odor. Many Americans belief "that's how a Chinese grocery (should) smell..." but no, odor sources are quite universal and a bad smell is not a good sign in any culture or country. They need to fix it. read more

This place is bigger than many of the other Asian stores in the area. They even have their own butcher counter at the back. You can also pick up many authentic fermented Asian items at this store. The store is not located in a busy area so finding a parking space will be easy. read more

Just got back from my first trip to Many More Asian Market, and am happy with my stash. Driving down Smallman St. I had no trouble finding the store, with the colorful, and easy to spot sign. There was a sign pointing to the parking lot, which was empty, and easy to navigate, so I was getting more excited about stocking up on my much needed Korean food staples. I decided to give Many More a try, since I've been to the Korean stores in the area, and wanted to see if this store would be a good alternative. There is a good selection of brown, medium grain, sweet, and glutinous rice. The produce selection was well stocked with bean sprouts, bok choy, and Japanese eggplant. The fresh fruit was just as varied, and abundant. There is a great selection of fish, and soy sauces, dried fish, and beans, spices, and teas. Pretty much the staples of an Asian kitchen whether it be Chinese, Korean, Japanese, and even Indian. I found my rice, tofu, Korean ramen (Shin), tteok (rice cakes), dried anchovies, sesame oil, and soy sauce. There was even Korean style heotteok (red bean filled pancake), and yogurtu, childhood favorites. The store is well stocked, and I hope to spend time checking out the freezers with dumplings, seafood, and fish cakes next time. Many More Asian Market offers a decent selection of Asian pantries/groceries that aren't offer in other U.S. supermarket chains. Most of their goods are Chinese-based, but there are limited selection of Thai/Japanese or other Asian pantries as well. Their store is a little small and selection seemed a little limited than what I'm used to seeing in an Asian store in a larger city (just 1-2 selection of fish sauce or dimsum, for example) but I guess acceptable compared to the generally small Asian population (and as such limited availability of Asian groceries) in Pittsburgh in general. What I like is this Asian market is more organized/relatively clean and has a convenient parking lot next to the store, so you don't have to worry about finding a place to park your car there! read more
