Great spot for sandwiches! As you might suspect by the name, the space has a surfer beach vibe with plenty of tables for dining in. Huge menu of sandwiches.. certainly something for everyone. Ordered the Maverick... turkey, LTOc chipotle mayo, jalapeños, banana peppers... it was DELICIOUS. Option for full or 1/2 - the half was plenty for even the biggest appetites. Okay I know the first thing I'm supposed to do is admit that I have a problem. Each time I come back here I keep on ordering the Maverick. I promised myself that I would do Manzano's justice by trying some of their other subs (because they literally have quite a few as well as other things) but I keep on coming back to the Maverick. Wow. Just wow. There was a list of places to go before heading to the beach and By Golly I am so glad we went here. I would eat the menu alone. I need to go back here because there were simply too many beautiful options. I decided on the grilled chicken pesto panini. FUCK! IT FUCKED! I could taste the pesto hours later. The pesto sat happily in my stomach and moved through my intestines peacefully. I see the world a little clearer after eating this sandwich. It used to be so much better here! Now, it's a "take it or leave it" spot unless you're locked into eating on Flagler Ave, and there are other options to grab a quick bite for less than what you would spend here. I ordered a salad with a scoop of tuna fish on it. I received a lovely fresh salad with so little tuna on it that it fit on a single fork! See pic. It was really disappointing and insulting. My dining partner had a tuna melt and it was so thin it was fascinating. I posted a pic of the sandwich with a fork next to it for scale. Needless to say there wasn't much substance to it at all, but it was a tasty bite and fun to look at. I remember they used to have a sign in the window of a giant sub sandwich with the words "smaller than actual size" next to it. Yes those were the days. Great place for a quick bite after the beach! We really enjoyed the NSB sandwich, the half size is still pretty substantial. There's plenty of tables to eat inside and it's decorated with a nice tropical vibe. Our sandwiches were whipped together quick even though it was busy when we visited. This location is on the main drag which is a nice walk afterward eating. There is also easy parking behind the building. This was my first time trying Manzano's and I can tell you, it won't be my last. What an AWESOME spot and a true gem in New Smyrna. My husband got the Italian Stallion and it was ENORMOUS and SO GOOD. Let me tell you, for most people, a "half" sandwich will be plenty and you could even share it. My hubby was very hungry and ate the whole thing and was super happy with it. The whole is 15" and incredibly huge and impressive. I tried the Turkey Panini and it was honestly one of the best paninis I've ever had. They absolutely nailed the press, the flavors were out of this world and it did not fall apart the entire time I was eating. Long time customer of Manzano's; first time yelping. I have had a variety of their sandwiches from regular sandwiches to paninis. Everything I have tried merits a five-star review. The sandwiches are huge. Honestly, the normal sized sandwich (15 inches!?) is the size of two sandwiches. You'll definitely have more for later or tomorrow if you don't get a half-size. From a wide array of meats, to every topping you can think of, to tasty dressings that match the meat of the sandwich, the menu is very extensive. Even if you don't see something you don't like, you can create you own. (My girlfriend ended up doing this--she's quite a picky eater.) The service was very helpful in that endeavor. The service is always good, though this time it did take a little while for our to-go sandwiches to get to us. Probably because it was pretty busy for the middle of the afternoon on a Thursday. We wanted some sandwiches last night for dinner but they were closed. They close pretty early during the week, which is my only complaint. I got the Maverick this time. As always, delicious bread with top notch deli meat and fresh toppings. Highly recommend Manzano's for a sandwich before you head to the beach. Manzano's Beachside Deli is a must stop restaurant if you are in the area. They only use Boar's Head products and fresh ingredients. Their bread is flown in from New York and it tastes amazing when compared to other sandwich shops. My daughter and I ordered The Pauly ($8.99), Italian Stallion ($8.99) and kids chicken nuggets ($4.99) with fresh cut french fries. ($4.99) The Pauly is made with salami, ham, provolone, mortadella, red onion, tomato, spicy mustard and lettuce. The Italian Stallion has ham, salami, prosciutto, provolone , pepperoni , red onion , black olives, lettuce, mayo, tomato and oil & vinegar. Both sandwiches were solid and taste very fresh. We ordered the half size and it was still a lot of food. Next time we will share a half order. Beware.....Kid's meals do not come with sides. The kids chicken nuggets $4.99, french fries $4.99 and a drink $2.00. It is the most expensive kids meal that I have experienced in a counter service restaurant. Such a let down. This was the worst meal we had all week long but I guess it helps to know that NSB isn't perfect. But honestly I read the reviews that pub subs were better and still gave this place the benefit of the doubt because a coworker so highly recommended them but NO. I would take a wawa sub over this place any day. None of the subs were amazing and honestly not sure how fresh or how long the meat sits out because it made two of us sick. The chips were 100% the best part. The pizza should NOT be allowed to be advertised as New York Style because it is not. It was served in a styrofoam box and we were wondering if they forgot to give it to us. When we stumbled upon it we were all like "oh" and nobody wanted to take the first bites. He even laughed at a question my boyfriend had (where is the customer service)? Seriously? Then to top it off you jam your fingers at the iPad to pay and expect us to give a tip for $30 worth of beach sandwiches... okay. So then I get my sandwich. Wow. I ordered the NSB: one sliver of tomato. Smashed avocado barely covering the half. One congealed half slice of bacon with some deli turkey smashed into the bread (which is the only saving Hail Mary of this place, it's really good bread). One star for food and zero stars for service. They're rude & unhelpful and when they make food incorrectly the surfer making the food Matt will give you attitude and persnickety responses. The health inspector also needs to pay a visit to help educate Matt on proper glove wearing, food safety protocols and other infractions which they'll surely be discovering when they visit shortly.
