In our continued search for bakeries along bike trails, we returned to The Bagel Barn Cafe, having fallen in love, on our last visit. This time, we arrived at the BCoD, (Butt Crack of Dawn), parking there, then heading west, eventually turning around and coming back. This trip, I had an Asiago bagel, with a fried egg and provolone cheese, a caramel latte, and a crème brûlée donut, which, I gotta say, is the best donut I've ever had. I'm going to tell you something amazing.... Usually, when a bagel place or deli wraps the food in tinfoil, it's going to be damn good! In my lifetime, it had never missed. This, however, was kind of a miss. Then again, I popped in at 2:15 and they closed at 3. Those bagels had been sitting around. Also, there were no poppy, sesame, or cinnamon raisin bagels left but this was a good sign because it meant demand was high, The tinfoil fact was interesting but that's not the amazing thing I was going to tell you. What's amazing is that The Bagel Dude told me that poppy was the most popular bagel for them. Poppy? For real?! That's my favorite bagel (minus flossing after) but I never would have expected that would be the most popular bagel. Now I'm going to have to do some research on bagels (not joking). As for the taste of the bagels, the toasted one was good but the not/toasted one was chewy and borderline tasteless. I assume this is because they had been sitting around. Since reviews are good and this would be a more fair review if I had popped in during the morning rush, I still recommend it. Btw, The Bagel Dude was super helpful and even offered to hold bagels for the next morning (before I tasted the current ones). He was also polite and patient. Great local gem! There is truly something for everyone as there are tons of bagel options to pick from. Wide variety of drinks as well. Their biscuits and gravy and other meals/sandwiches are also really good. Their lattes are fantastic - especially if Rose makes it. They have an insanely large drink selection (like gas station huge), too. They're also open pretty early, so getting a bagel and coffee before getting out in the water is 100% possible! No more McDonald's runs or waiting in the drive thru for ages - just call in your order or order online and they'll have it ready to pick up SO fast. read more

NSB really needed a good NY bagel place. Several people have tried but the bagels were not good, they didn't know what lox was. Mario, the owner gets his bagels from NYC and he gives healthy ( large) portions. Breakfast sandwiches and smoothies, Salads, burgers and a lot more. They serve locally own Island Roaster Coffee . They are very friendly! Great addition for NSB! read more

Have been going here since 2021; it used to be awesome with a fresh taste and generous portion sizes. Although the menus prices have not dropped, the quality, taste and portion sizes have dramatically dropped. The bagels are not of the same quality as they were back in 2025. I had to throw away my last breakfast sandwich due to it tasting rancid and finding hair in the sandwich. Quality and sanitary food have disappeared from this establishment. read more

I love bagels and until recently finding a quality bagel in the area was no easy task, sure there were a few bagel options, but a true bagel lover like myself usually finds disappointment long before finding a fresh authentic bagel that provides that chewy crusty deliciousness that I crave. The Bagel Barn Cafe and Deli checks off all the boxes and after walking through the door and seeing the beautiful renovations that has transformed the former business from a tired but nostalgic deli into a clean and refreshing cafe and deli which was much needed in the area. I was so impressed with this recently opened business, there were baskets of fresh bagels of all types and delicious creative pastries everywhere - being somewhat of a traditionalist I tend to always default to the simpler options knowing playing it safe usually delivers good results, but after this experience who knows what direction this will go. A plain toasted bagel with a generous portion of cream cheese loaded with a mound of delicious bacon paired with a what I can only describe as an extreme everything bagel toasted, over-stuffed with freshly prepared over-easy eggs and more of that crispy bacon with white American cheese, this combination is nothing less than an explosive exhibition of flavors that is almost irresistible, at least to my taste buds. The staff here is exceptional at customer service it's obvious they are on a mission to succeed, the quality here was amazing and the prices beyond reasonable. M expectations were high since the Bagel Barn came highly recommended from my sister and my niece. I walked in and The Bagel Barn had "the bagel aroma". I thought it may be a good bagel. I places my order, an everything bagel w cream cheese, not toasted. You never toast a bagel. It's just wrong. It's not a good sign if the place actually asks you if you want a toasted bagel or, even worse, automatically toast it without you knowing. I ordered up front to not toast the bagel. I was handed a bagel in a cardboard box. Opened it. It was sliced correctly. A good sign, but then I bit into it and thought I just took a bite of Wonder Bread smears with cream cheese. Just awful. The absolute worst bagel ever. Unfortunately, no garbage cans were out front so I had to walk back in to toss it in the garbage. Do not go here. If you want a good bagel, leave and go buy a smoothie at the Mason Jar. You will thank me later. I won't pile on, but the coffee isn't much better. read more

The bagels are very good if a tad expensive. However I ordered their highlighted lunch specialty "Old World Italian Hoagie" at $14 I was expecting a good hoagie instead you get two hot dog buns spread open instead of a hoagie bun, pretty outrageous at $14. Nothing "Old World" about it, should be called "Baseball Park Leftovers". I could have gotten this type sandwich at Subway for $6. As a long time local of the New Smyrna Beach and Edgewater area, Bagel Barn is exactly what this area needed! Bagel Barn is a mix of a restaurant, bakery, coffee shop, and grab and go store. It has a lot to offer and definitely worth your time to come in. I have ordered bagel numerous times and they are consistently fresh, delicious and flavorful. I'm a big cheesy bagel fan and not only did they have a cheese bagel, they had FOUR different types the last time I came in! You can say I was impressed. My go to would have to be the lox bagel. It is generously topped with cream cheese, smoked salmon, tomato, onion and capers. Honestly, it's always a 10/10. The prices are good and the staff are friendly! Make sure to give this place a try! The only advice I can give is be patient with parking or score a spot on a side road because there are only a few spots directly in front of the store! read more

What is a better way than to start your morning or lunch with a delicious bagel or deli sandwich? I highly recommend checking out this place! Their bagels were fresh, thick, and delicious. I tried their everything bagel stuffed with eggs, bacon, and cheese. I love how they didn't go lightly with the fillings here. We then had their "Rachel" sandwich which was great size and absolutely delicious. They have a lot of fresh Deli to-go options as well. If I could give this 0 stars I would. Right when I walked in the service matched the bagels... lousy. The bagels were hard and I the attendant didn't ask if we wanted our bagel slices or toasted. My chocolate chip bagel had a total of 3 chips and for some reason they were very greasy. Tried to support local but clearly these were not fresh and made today. We're from Philly and finding a decent bagel in Florida is a real challenge. Bagel Barn gets it right! They bake them right in the restaurant. The owner is from south Jersey and a great host. And another thing, for some reason bagel shops seem to have a hard time getting the order right. We have two good places near us in Philly that NEVER get the order correct.
