I have been here for over six weeks recovering from a multi-fracture hip. If I have to be away from home this is a good place to be. Staff try very hard to please, even small whims. Mostly they are kind and cheerful. There are many activities to choose from and opportunities to socialize. Physio is very careful and effective. Most rehab patients have a single room. I am in a double, with a very nice, quiet lady. Food is good especially the salads and soups. If you have a special diet your family needs to help you get substitutes. I have my own gluten free bread, almond milk and coconut oil (in place of butter).
The architecture and landscaping are well thought out, with two lovely enclosed gardens for dementia patients and a large second floor patio over looking them. There are gardening activities, holiday celebrations with talented musicians.
Bathing is twice a week. I highly recommend the bath, so much easier than a shower. Sponge baths daily. The cleaning staff do an excellent job. Bedding is changed on bath days or as needed.
You are allowed to have children and dogs visit you. They are very welcome.
There are two common room, large TVs and telephone service. You can rent cable TV service in your room. There is no wifi as yet, but use of a computer. There are complimentary Star news papers to share.
