Appalling. Unprofessional. Very unsettling practice and management. Fyi. Visited Richmond Hill walk-in clinic on October 2nd, 2021. I did not have my updated health card on me at the time. I was charged $75.00 dollars to see a doctor. I paid with the understanding that I would be reimbursed once I supplied them a renewed Health card. I supplied an updated card a week later. I was then told that OHIP could take up to 3 months to reimburse them and that their head office in Alberta would then send me a cheque asap upon their receipt. I have called several times for reimbursement. I have spoken to numerous people at both their Richmond Hill and Newmarket offices. I have told my story repeatedly and spent hours on the phone trying to get resolve. I have been told that head office did receive repayment from OHIP, in addition to being promised that someone will call me back. They refused to give me a manager's name or any contact information on who is responsible for reimbursement at their head office. Today I spoke with someone again. Once again, the Richmond Hill manager was not in and they would do their best to have someone call me back. To date...over 7 months later... I have not received any reimbursement. The receptionist is always incredibly rude and condescending. She also seems to be out of the loop about the process of requisition and referrals. She has frequently given me wrong appointment times, then gotten upset with me about this. I would not recommend Dr. Yostina as a family doctor. She seems to have work elsewhere and to not be too concerned about her York Medical patients. I would not recommend this clinic unless you are using it for walk-in purposes and it is of a convenient location to you. read more

This place is the worst. All true about reception desk people they are straight up rude and incompetent. The place is never busy but the wait times are somehow much longer at other clinics I've been to. Even with an appointment be prepared to wait for at least an hour or more. Avoid! read more

A one star rating wouldn't do this place justice. Immediately, when I entered and looked around, I noticed the seating area that was comprised of old black chairs with torn leather seats. The damage of the cushions is probably from the wear and tear of 3+ hour wait times or from patients who actively take out their frustration on these antiquated chairs. As I check in (after 1pm), the receptionist tells me that the doctor won't be in for another 30 + minutes with 6 people ahead of me. No worries, I brought my laptop expecting to wait. 30 minutes come by and no one in the waiting room gets taken to the back to be seen. One lady beside me said she waited 2 hours without an update. Slowly, one by one, the people in the waiting area ask the receptionist for clarity. What disturbed me the most was the receptionist's attitude. The chaos was out of her hands, but she took her frustration and projected it on people who patiently waited and kindly asked for simple answers. One man came in for his scheduled appointment with his doctor, and the receptionist said he had no appointment booked for today. He then stated that his appointment got re-booked twice by this place. I'm sure it's his assertion and confidence, and not that they suddenly found his name on the calendar that they promptly took him to the back to be seen. I felt so overwhelmed with the disarray of this establishment, that I thought I'd respectfully leave by notifying the receptionist of my decision to head home. She bitterly replied, "I told you the doctor wouldn't be in for 30 minutes and that there were 6 people ahead of you. You can come back in 2 hours." It didn't matter if the wait was 6 hours, I was tired. I am in shock that such a dumpster fire of an establishment is in operation. I volunteered at a medical clinic in Africa a few years ago, and it puts this place to shame. read more

The receptionist will ask you when checking in "why would you like to see a doctor". According to the dr., this question helps them manage the patient flow, i.e determines if a patient requires additional paperwork to be completed. I've worked in health care for years and before I was privileged to see any patient info, I had to sign a million confidentiality agreement. Being asked this question surprised me and I was vulnerable enough to answer it because I didn't know if it would affect me being seen by a doctor. I understand the need to reduce wait times, but this is a very invasive question and no one should ask it but the doctor. The doctor that I saw said that "as an adult you don't have to answer this question if you don't want to". That would be true if the patient wasn't vulnerable, and if she knew her rights. I was not told that I didn't have to answer the question, and didn't know if not answering would affect my care. The receptionist asked this question freely in front of staff and other patients, and I felt violated. I also didn't need to hear other patients' ailments! Sorry doc, it's not common sense or common practice and it is illegal! There are better ways of managing patient flow without asking people to disclose personal health information. This is specially true for vulnerable patients, or those who don't know their rights. According to the doctor, they can't be sued for asking. Besides that, I was satisfied with the care given but will not return to a clinic that doesn't respect patient privacy or The Personal Health Information Act. read more

I have had the great misfortune of having to walk in clinics throughout my life, and generally have had horrible experiences. I am happy to say that I have finally found a GREAT location with incredible staff. I recently suffered in injury in the work place and after sitting in an emergency room waiting room for hours I decided to try them out. Dr. HASSELL and his staff quickly diagnosed the problem, arranged for xrays, and treatment to help me through my long recovery process... thank you for being Human and respectful a very refreshing experience. My primary care physician is Dr. Cordos and she is excellent. Patience, knowledge and compassion are only a few of her virtues. Those virtues result in many patients - she's usually quite busy. However, I will alway recommend her services! The location itself has excellent and friendly staff.. I've had my missed phone calls returned, even when I didn't leave a message. Special thank you to Amy (I hope I remembered her name correctly, sorry if I didn't). She went above and beyond, calling my specialists office through the week to help me get some documents. She also called me to notify me that she has received the documents and to give me the options for going forward - all without my having to follow up. Also - thanks to all the staff. I imagine that it's tough work always dealing with people who aren't feeling well! read more

Long wait. Terrible service and experience. Had an appointment for bloodwork at 9 am. Got there before 9, was told to wait an hour. The receptionist didn't understand that I had an appointment and she told me I had to wait one hour for the doctor to come. After one hour I didn't even need to see the doctor, and I just had my blood taken. The day before when I saw the doctor, he was rushing me, and did not explain everything properly. I was concerned about my health and the doctor would not give helpful responses. The wait time for the doctor was long as well. Afterwards I called the walk-in for a follow up on my result. After 3rd time of calling, the receptionist put me on hold for over 20 minutes, and after hung up on me. Would not recommend this clinic. read more

I walked into this clinic today around 12 noon to get a FIT kit. The receptionist at the Walk in clinic booth was not friendly and helpful. She seems not willing to talk much about what paper work she's suppose to hand me. The place didn't look busy and I was informed on the phone before coming in that the wait should not be long. Still I waited one hour. And the receptionist called in someone who came after me. So it's not first come first serve then? or it's the incompetent receptionist who know not how to organize the flow. read more

I went to this clinic last week about a possible infection, and was told to "wait and see" if things cleared up and got better on its own. I had already been monitoring the situation for a week, but took the Drs advice to wait longer. One week later and things were worse, so I went back to finally get the medication. This time I saw Dr. Bahar Ghazi-Mirseed, who was the rudest Dr I have ever encountered. She tried to send me away without meds because she didn't think I have an infection, just "irritated" skin, even though I explained I am crying in pain every day. She suggested I wait yet another week to see if things get better on their own, and then come back a third time to then get meds I was there for. Umm no. I'd already been waiting over 2 weeks at that point, and am in literally the worst pain of my life. She absolutely hated that I had questions for her and pushed back about getting meds that day and what treatment plan was best. She kept saying "if you don't like it you can go get another opinion somewhere else" (she said this like 3 or 4 times to me) and ended the appointment by saying this to me and just walking out of the exam room. No goodbye or anything. Not even 12 hrs of taking the meds I am already seeing improvements, so I'm glad I listened to my gut and not to her. read more

I had a great experience with a female doctor, Dr. Sorial there today. When I explained what I was experiencing to her, she seemed genuinely concerned (I could tell even with the mask). She asked me a lot of questions. I felt very comfortable with her, as I don't usually with any doctor, not even my family doctor. She ordered appropriate blood work and ultrasound. I have to rate this a 4 out of 5. I would rate a 5 but because of other doctors that I have seen at York med, it should bring it down to a 3.5. But she was so nice I'll give it a 4. read more

Typed it on Google this morning walk in clinics near me, York medical popped up and said it opened at 8 AM today, which is a Sunday. Went there at 8:45 AM there was a receptionist but at the medical part not at the walk in part, the walk in part said closed, went up to say hi to the medical receptionist , she gave me attitude and said what do you want I said when is the walking clinic Open she said 9 o'clock still giving me attitude I asked why does the website say eight she just looked at me and said I don't care it opens at nine go away. I've been to this place many times and never had one good experience there. I would never recommend this place to anybody and don't know how they are still even in business. I went to see a doctor straight from the airport having returned from a trip. I let the rudest receptionist I've ever encountered know I had stitches in my fingers that I wanted looked at and removed, and I had severe pain in my throat and couldn't swallow. I waited two hours to see the doctor - Aliabadi - who in the same rude style refused to check the stitches on my hand dictating only one issue could be accepted. He chose the issue to "treat", being my throat, which he could not determine was a viral or bacterial infection. He didn't even look at the stitches to determine if there may be any infections or problems. He told me go back the next day. I asked the rude receptionist what this rule was and why no one told me before I wasted two hours. Worst medical experience I've had. Apparent money grab. Avoid this place and go to the ER if needed. read more

I went this morning to see the doctor at York Medical in Richmond Hill and I had the worst experience. Doctor H. Aliabadi treated me with contempt as I was explaining the symptoms which occasioned the visit. When I mentioned my previous discussion with my pharmacist, he yelled at me not to tell him that, but to stick to the symptoms which I had already told him. What doctor yells at his patient? Aliabadi. What doctor is so rude to his patient? Aliabadi. What doctor prescribed a medication not covered by my plan and delays sending a replacement option for eight hours and counting? Aliabadi.
