Staff will give you only lip service and not follow through (different staffing everyday, contract employees for the most part). Mom was ignored and given the very minimum of care. Sadly her short term memory was not the best at this time however her roommate had excellent memory and would fill us in on our daily visits about what was or more likely what was not happening. Never got any of her PT or OT exercises, moved to another area of the floor and was forgotten about for most of the day, unclean bedding, her request for a female to help with her bathroom duties was completely ignored and the list goes on. Finally had to move her to another facility with was wonderful and normal. Stay away from Cerenity and if you do have a loved one there already, have a back up plan "just in case" odds are you'll need it

Both my mom and dad need Memory Care, and while they were…read moregetting great Assisted Living services in the suburbs, I wanted to move them closer to me (in St. Paul) and also bump them up to Memory Care (a locked facility that will make them food three times a day, provide activities, let them live together in a one-bedroom apartment, provide help to the toilet or walking for dad because he has Parkinson's and Dementia...mom also has Dementia). The nurses and aides at Willows really care about what they are doing, and have worked for the privately-owned company for a long time (it's owned by a brother and sister who are awesome). I LOVE that we found this memory-care place for them, and it's in a great neighborhood--if you're not local, you might think of it as Mac-Groveland, but it's really actually Ramsey Hill (closer to the Cathedral than to Macalester College). It's close to the restaurants on Selby like the Happy Gnome, and close to the grocery store (Mississippi Market at Selby-Dale). I'm 100% glad we got them there--whew!!! :-)

My sister-in-law has lived at Maplewood Care Center (MCC) for more than six years. Every member of…read moretheir staff is exceptional in every way. Linda has many health problems and our family would never consider having her at any other health care facility. For example: She's very susceptible to pneumonia and, at the first possible symptom, their staff immediately takes x-rays and appropriate action. In addition, every member of MCC's staff is kind and caring. Linda is always listened to with respect until the best solution for any problem is found. MCC's communication with our family is extraordinary. Their staff works closely with us to make Linda as comfortable and happy as possible. We are a large family and that enables us to devote time to the entire family since the staff at MCC takes such excellent care of Linda. On top of all that, MCC schedules a wide range of interesting and fun activities that Linda and the other residents enjoy. I've personally spent many hours in all areas of MCC and have never seen or heard of any situation even vaguely resembling that mentioned in other reviews. A bonus is that our loved one raves that the food at MCC is exceptional. Our family highly recommends Maplewood Care Center.

Before I point out a few negative things I would like to say there are some people at this facility…read morethat were kind, considerate and respectful! There were others that just wanted to collect a paycheck, they did not care for the people in their care unless they knew someone was watching them. I went to this site everyday for 2 months while my father was in hospice. They rarely cleaned the floor to the point I complained to management, management made excuses instead of addressing the issue. I witnessed a woman fall out of her chair and land on her face, they picked her up and put her at the table for dinner. I now know such a fall would be called a trauma silver and someone should of done a full head to toe inspection of her body, they did nothing while the woman cried while trying to eat. Many meals barely had any protein on the plate and most meals were cold. There were other issues.
