Amazing people! We spent two nights there in the middle of July. Accommodations were good, air conditioning was cold. Food right across the parking lot, shops were close. read more

I decided to book here for the night. I checked in about 8 pm. Around 10 pm because I left, I found out the door does not lock.... I called the front office regarding it. The lady then tried telling me that the door locks... The door does not lock... She then at that point continue to try to calm me down as I continue to tell her that there is no way of locking the door from the inside. With her response being "you can only get into the room with a key." As a female for starters, if the door does not lock from the inside that's scary I think for anyone! To charge almost $90 a night with a door that doesn't lock. I'd rather sleep in my truck... I will not be coming here again... They won't refund me... As it's a "no refund" location. They wouldn't even move me to another room. read more

Room stank . As soon as walking in had a really bad odor . Sheets were dirty. Nothing like any suite I've ever stayed at.

Needs better cleaning staff. Blankets on bed full of stains and strands of hair. Shower has stains on the bottom.

Sometimes you really don't have a choice of where your going to stay so you end up at a place like this because well it's the only option besides what they call in this town as the Rail Trail! Basically I ended up here as it was the only place that had rooms on this given night seeing I didn't have a car at the minute due to it catching fire a few hours earlier it was here or outside in the dust. So I spent two days here in what I'm going to say is one of the better of the run down hotels you will find in this area I say this as I walked pretty much up and down the street this is on and everything else just didn't look as chill as this one so I'm glad I picked the Maple instead of what else was around. You already know what type of hotel this old dated and kinda dirty but it definitely beat the street so I was somewhat happy to be here. The room was old my bed wasn't too bad I didn't see any signs of bugs or super dirty places the room I was in wasn't super bad let's just say I wouldn't go out of my way to stay here again but it defiantly better than other places but that's not saying much. Once I checked in the owner lady was super nice and friendly as well as totally accommodating for what the room was. Basically it had an older tv which had a good amount of channels a fridge microwave and that's pretty much it. Overall this hotel could use a lotta work but it is what it is let's just say only stay here if you have to and you'll be all good. My rating reflects comparing this to the street and the other run down hotels which I passed on my walks around this town which really didn't make this so bad but my stay could be super different from yours so you roll the dice either way! read more

Maple Leaf Inn, not a Maple tree in sight. Not even any trees. Just a concrete paradise. Nothing to look at. This is an ok place to stop off in between destinations when you are too tired to drive any further. Def. not a place to vacation. They write their name on the pillows and mattresses as if anyone would want to steal them. No ice machine avail. I'm guessing it's been broken for some time. The most pleasant part of this hotel is Vegia at the front desk. Very kind and welcoming lady. read more

Bait & switch pricing! I booked this motel because the internet advertised that it was cheap-I arrived late at night and was charged $101!?! No continental breakfast, there wasn't even free ice! This inn is also worn out looking and hasn't seen a remodel since the 1980's. It was clean at least, but there wasn't even Kleenex in the bathroom. I felt tricked and ripped off! read more

Worst place to stay at, I understand I went cheap by really? Roaches, dirty walls, empty bottles under the bed and stains on the blankets and sheets. I'm very happy my son didn't come with us because it's not healthy. I saw the nice pictures and thought that it would be worth the stay. We arrived early and they wouldn't let us check in so we slept in our car, there was No one there at all and they refused to let us rent another room. There was No light bulbs in 2 of the 3 lights in the room. The bathroom had the drain caving, and I was almost went to the store to go get cleaning supplies. I also went and bought my own blanket so I didn't have to be in theirs. Do not stay here! they also told us if we damaged the room we would be charged $250. Lololololol read more

Stayed here for one night on the way up to San Francisco. I'm not a very picky guest and I can't say this was terrible by any means. But it was definitely lacking, even for a cheap stay option. The room walls and floor seem a bit weathered, which isn't a huge deal to me, just gave it a much cheaper ambiance. The bed had a plastic wrap around the mattress, which crinkled whenever you move on the bed. The bed sheet didn't wrap around, it merely hung over the side. The air conditioner did it job decently, but made a noise that woke me up every time it turned on (it should be noted I am a light sleeper, so this may not be an issue for most others). There were very few plugs, which were mostly being used by the other appliances. On the positive side, the bathroom was solid. Main point: even for this price (or close to it), you could probably do better in Los Banos. read more

I can't tell you not to stay here but I will tell you why I will never stay here. Was bit by bugs the first hour I was there bed bugs and fleas I called up to tell the owners and they denied there would even be bugs in here I said ok we will see in the morning. I immediately regret that all night I could feel shit crawling on me I got up didn't shower shower was crap and still felt stuff crawling on me this was worse then the red roof in I stayed in the night before right down the street. Now I'm having allergic reactions to the bites. Didn't ask for a refund in fear of not getting my deposit back. Was told one price and charged another at the end. Will never stay here again. Hope this helps read more

Never, EVER stay here. Although the lady at the desk is sweet and nice as heck, this place is outta the 80's and discussing. Nothing worked including the toilet, towels had dust on them and roaches came from under the trash can when I moved it. The TV is old and the smoke detector had blood or what looks like blood on it. Heck the bucket had cigarette burns!!!! read more

I see a lot of worthy compliments, but only two stars on the other reviews...confusing... This place and price easily deserve a 5 star. I live in hotels, literally, and do so across the west coast and really like this place. I was greeted at 10 pm by someone with a great personality, who was very helpful and full of smiles. The room was equally great! Clean, smelled nice and stocked with all that I need. I wish I could move this set up and person (forgot her name) at the counter to some of the other cities I stay in! Easy to access from I-5!!! I will be back! read more

It's 3am and we really needed a place to crash. Called every hotel on the 99 and on the 5 going north bound, we had no luck! Then we called Maple Inn, a friendly voice picked up and delivered the most awesome news: "yes, we have vacancy." How much? "$50.00." The reviews on yelp were mixed, but I trusted the ones that said this place was clean. It's not a five star hotel, ya'll so don't expect the Ritz. Expect awesome service from ViJu and expect clean rooms though. It's an old hotel! So don't be picky, yelpers. Rest assure the sheets are clean and bathrooms are clean. If we are driving up north again, this would be our place to crash. Thank you Maple Inn for being so awesome and so great to my husband and I. We really needed you and you got the job done! I'm pretty honest gal, take a chance and tell your friends Maple Inn is a good place to stay. Next Garlic Festival, this is our place to crash! read more

Do not stay here. This place is a dump. Owners are nice but no hot water and the place is filthy. I would give this place a zero. The bed was full of hairs, stain and the walls are dirty. We were on our way to San Fran and got tired. This was the only place available and man did we pay the price. No hot water to shower the towels were stained I mean this place was straight disgusting. I don't know where the others got the reviews about this place being nice but sorry our room was filthy. read more

Poor customer service. Rooms are not as described and the pictures posted online are deceiving. We saw the King standard room and the double room. They're both Very very dated, dingy and unkept. When we booked online 2 adults were charged $46 before tax but then they charged us an additional $5 for our toddler who was supposed to be free!!! When I came to the front desk and request a cancellation because I was unhappy with the room, the woman on the front desk charged us $5! We drove another 30 miles to check in to motel 6 that offered the same rate, which had a much better room and service. read more

My stay here was the worst experience I've had in my life. It is filthy and bad for your health. The walls are crusted with grime and the smell will make you nauseous. Oh my god where do I start this is the dirtiest place I have ever stayed in my life . I travel a lot places.I've been in the third world but this place is nasty. The moment I opened the door to my cheap $45 room, I knew I made a poor choice. The room smelled like smoke -- even though it was a non-smoking room -- mixed with an illegal amount of air freshener - most would simply describe the room as 'musty'. (The owner told me not to leave my door open at all when I checked in, which makes me think that there has been issues with crime and it kept me from trying to air out the place.) My cloths and gear smelled like it when I got home. I refused to use the provided bedding. I also wouldn't use the shower. The TV picture was so poor on the old tube that I could not enjoy SportsCenter before bed. From the other reviews, the only conclusion that I can draw is this: the cheap (Standard) rooms are disgusting and the expensive rooms (Deluxe) are pretty good. read more

Without a doubt, the most disgusting place ever. Anyone who has written previous reviews and said this place was clean, did not stay in room 136! We can deal with old out-dated furniture and tv's...but filth is an entirely different deal. The lady who checked is in was nice. At least when we checked in. When we left, I told her she needed to fire the maid. Dirty toilet, tub, towels, sheets and bedding were blood and urine stained. Carpets were beyond filthy. The microwave nobody in their right mind would put food in because it was disgusting. Sleeping in your car would be a better alternative. read more

booked the room on Expedia when we got to the Maple inn at 3am the lady at the front desk said since we used Expedia we wouldn't be able to check in until 2pm. the lady did let us check in at #am though but we had to pay additional $70 for the hotel and she instructed me to cancel my reservation and I would get the refund. WELL I wasn't able to get a refund so this hotel cost me $130.00 when we got into the room it gave off a Bates motel vibe. the TV didn't work, stains on the carpet, the toilet didn't flush. no towels in the bathroom, the room smelt like mold. WORST experience I ever had at a hotel. read more

Baby Cockroach chilling on my hand at 1am. Needless to say I am very happy Expedia was able to refund my money, because we ended up leaving in the middle of the night, ten minutes after this discovery. No warning on Expedia, TripAdvisor or Yelp about cockroaches so for the record, you've been warned. On another note, the lady working was very nice. Like many tired motorists, I wanted a place to rest on the drive LAX - SFO. I saw a couple reviews that praised this place, so gave it a try. MISTAKE. Was the staff friendly? Yes. Are they opportunistic? Yes. I called ahead, asked for lowest rate, confirmed availability. At check in, referred to the earlier quote. Was charged deluxe room rate. Front desk clerk didn't want to change it. "The deluxe is nicer." "You would have to wait while I prepare another key." They know their clients are tired, need sleep now. Smiling at me while trying to eke out more $$ is BS. Rooms are all in the same shape: dilapidated, unpleasant. One look at the room and you know. I stripped bed of its bedspread, made sure the sheets were clean and vermin-free, got blanket and pillow from my car, went to sleep. I left four hours later. Noise level is problematic, whether room is at the rear of the property or curbside - roosters [crowing starts ~ 5:00a, non stop] and big rig traffic are a given. I left without using the shower or brushing my teeth at the sink. Scrub all you want, the place looks like what it is: overdue for an overhaul. Skip Los Banos. Stop in Hollister. Stop in a rest stop. Driving ten miles off I-5 for this "deal" is a loser. read more

We stayed here last night because it was cheaper than staying closer to the bay. If I'm ever in Los banos again I'm definitely staying here. The woman was extremely friendly and recommended an awesome restaurant across the street. The linens and carpet were old but everything was super clean. For $50 bucks I've never stayed anywhere better. Great value for the price read more

Overall, not too bad for what you pay for. It's not a luxury hotel but it's honest. I stayed for one night just to crash and sleep. Didn't have time to use the shower, but the sink did take quite a while for the water to warm up. Other than that, everything worked just fine: key card, heater, lights, fridge, free wifi, etc. Room was worn, but still clean, with no vermin. I've actually had worse experiences at (slightly pricier) major chain motels. Very friendly and helpful customer service. I wouldn't mind stopping to rest here again. read more

Where do I start! I went to check in. When I go to the room I found dead roaches. Outside and in the room. The sheets looked like from the 60's. Room had a very bad odor. And looked like there were stained. I went back to the front desk and asked them if I can get another room. They gave me another room but it was the same. I told them I can't stay here with my family. Very unsanitary I dont know how people can stay here. Bed looked like they had bed Bugs or who knows what kind of bacteria. But they sure didnt look sanitary. Now unexplainable they dont want to refund my $. When I didnt even stay there. Called Expedia and let them know of the situation and they can't refund me $ either. Note: I highly recommend everyone not to stay in this hotel. read more

This is the most disgusting place I've ever been to. Should've checked the reviews before anything! First off, it was so hard to open the door to get in the room, you pretty much have to break in! When you get in the room it already feels like youre going to be going home with bed bugs. There's flying bugs flying and also on the walls! The blankets are filthy! The bathroom is disgusting! Got a two bed/room we noticed hairs and dirt stains on the sheets I went up to the lobby and asked for new sheets also the trash can was full of used nasty toilet paper. Why would that company make sheets have dirt stains? Isn't the whole point of the company to clean your sheets?! Anyway they never came in to change the sheets even after I had gone up there twice. This is unnaceptable I will most definatly never be staying here, bad customer service! From all my hotel stays I have never had this issue ever and nobody should ! Wow, what a harrowing experience. I SO wish I would've read these reviews before I booked the room. I arrived after dark, and was legit terrified by the look of the place. If I hadn't already booked the room through Priceline, I would've never made it to the lobby. But I felt between a rock and a hard place, so checked into the hotel in a bug-filled lobby. When I got to my room, I had some doubts/suspicions, and pulled back the covers, only to find a ton of tiny black hairs on the sheets. I went back to the lobby, and the woman who checked me in gave me a look of shock when I told her what I found. She said that all of the sheets were laundered by their laundry service. I don't know what to say, lady. Please stop gas-lighting me. Please give me a room without pubes on the sheets. After opening the window in my odor-filled new room, I decided I wasn't going to feel good about my experience, and may as well not look under the sheets this time, and just go to bed as quickly as possible. I did this. I rushed out in the morning, after a quick shower, during which I hung a shirt of mine to de-wrinkle it. In my hurry to escape this place, and because the shirt was a very similar off white to the color of the ancient towels, I left the shirt behind. I called to claim the shirt (as I had no doubts that I'd left it behind--I remembered exactly where I'd left it), and again, this woman who seemed so sweet upon our first introduction tried to fucking deny the reality of my experience. "I don't have anything. My maid is very honest. She's been my maid for 15 years. Have you checked your bag? It's not here, you must have it." I HAD checked my bag. I didn't have it because I left it on the towel wrack. I suggested that perhaps her maid had swooped it up with the towels. She ignored this. I asked, repeatedly, if she could contact the laundry service. Or, even better, if I could contact them! She said she had to check with her maid to see if she'd found anything (something that would be futile both because she was so honest, or if she accidentally sent it away with the towels). Alright, I said, feeling defeated. I gave her my number and she promised she'd call me back the next morning. 48 hours later, I called HER back. She sassed me hard, said her maid didn't have it, and hung up on me. I called her back, she didn't answer. This shirt was both sentimentally and monetarily very valuable to me. A gift from my best friend, and my favorite item of clothing. And while it was my mistake for leaving it, I can't believe the attitude and disrespect I was confronted with. From start to finish, a miserable experience. Hello rude owner--if you find the shirt, I'll update my review. GIVE ME MY DAMN SHIRT. read more

The absolute best thing about this place is the owners. They are wonderfully sweet and accommodating. Not to mention incredibly friendly. The other great thing about this hotel is that it is cheap, the bathrooms are nice, and the rooms while definitely worn and weathered are comfortable and a decent size. The few issues I have are these: the parking lot is very very dark. While the hotel is on the main drag, it's not well lit giving it a slightly seedy appearance. Also, I would really prefer to have a fitted sheet on the bed and a mattress pad , rather than just a loose flat sheet. However, overall this hotel is excellent for the price. read more

This is a review of the cancellation policy not the room, since I didn't stay here. I booked a room here through Booking.com the day before I planned to return home. Immediately after making my reservation, I had "second thoughts" and decided to take a different route, down the 101 instead of the I-5. I found an alternative in Paso Robles, and since I had cancelled reservations before on Booking.com, I assumed there would be no problem with a refund. No more than ten minutes had gone by since I booked the room. After clicking the "cancel reservation" tab on Booking.coms site, I received an email from them saying that I would be charged the full price for the room.
