I don't care what anyone says I think the sweat bees are awesome. Kind of weird but also really neat. (They're flies y'all, they don't hurt you so don't hurt 'em) Anywho, we went here to see and pick a few sunflowers! We went during their first festival weekend this year. What a beautiful day. It wasn't super hot. The weather was sunny but with a good gust of wind at the right time. Everyone involved was funny and nice. The farm market had lots of honey! We are local honey junkies and I can't live without my honey sticks. So we got two in every flavor to try em out. The sunflowers were beautiful! Some of them, the really big ones, were reaching the end of the line. It can happen quick, especially with how hot the area has been. You have to go early or miss out until next year! Remember a few things: Ticket includes One flower per person They have wine (at the winery) and sometimes beer tastings on site There are bees at WORK. Don't go if you're going to harm the bees or the flowers. Seriously. Parking is in the grass up a gravel trail

Slowly driving through Maple Lawn Farms Orchards after you preorder a good meal, they will put the food in the trunk without you even getting out of the car because of the C-19. Our meal today was bbq chicken, a picnic box, ice cream, and wine!

Just some of the opportunities for pictures with your own picked sunflowers

Went to the sunflower festival last year and it was so fun! The ground was muddy from rain but none of us minded and we had a great time. I plan on going again and also to the lavender festival this weekend!

Visted during the Sunflower Festival. Enjoyed a quick hay ride to the fields. Staff at ticket counter was very friendly and helpful. They didn't have any clippers available, so we used our own tools to cut our flower. Flowers were beautiful. Had a long line to packet flowers in water. Food vendors were scarce; had live music. Expect lots of bees and flies. Got caught in rain.

My family loves Maple Lawn! My kids are in love with Miss Dee in the market and Mr Allen in the orchard. We always make sure to bring family and friends with us when we visit because we know they won't be disappointed. Farmer Hugh will always brighten your day as he is passing through. As mentioned in other reviews, we have canned many jars of apple sauce and they turn out great. Apple cider doughnuts are a nice treat or kettle corn. Check it out and find your happy place. (They even have a wine room for those of age...)

We arrived late in the season, but what's the efficient number of blackberries and blueberries were still available to pick. We just had to spend a little extra time picking which actually made it a little bit more fun. Wagons are available to pull your buckets so you and the kids don't have to carry them. The signage for the types of blueberries and blackberries and raspberries are adequate. This was my first time going there and we were able to find parking fairly easy because we arrive shortly after they opened. I can see how parking will be a little more difficult during the busy times. Bathrooms are on site that they are a little bit primitive. If you don't want to pick your own fruits, their store has some already picked for you but at a greater cost than if you picked them yourself plus other local produce and grocery items.

She was as sweet as the peaches she offered so I went over to her tent later on in the evening and was greeted by her and her equally adorable sister. They both pointed out a lonely carton of raspberries that seemed to whisper, "take me home." It was not the wine talking, it was the assertive, yet kind sales pitch and the freshness of the goods - "picked this morning!" These sisters are good! "Try one little grape, they are delicious!" I did. And they were. Sold! Raspberries and Peaches and Grapes. Oh my! I made sure to grab their brochure so I can visit their family farm soon. Hayride in the pumpkin patch? Oh, heck yeah!

Attended Fall Festival- simply too chaotic for my taste. They need a better plan! A map or list of…read moreactivities; or appointed people to push you in the right direction. We arrived w/ no clear sense of where to go or begin. There were tented areas, but then little shacks w/ awnings, pockets of people standing in a field, others across the street. Do I pay for this outside? Do I go inside? Are there tickets? The market (which had really nice things) was impossible to shop. Some things were outside, other things inside, w/ a line of people waiting to pay starting at the tented outside register area, backed up, weaving all the way thru the market isles to the front door. You had to squeeze between the line of people waiting to pay & the shelves of food to shop, making it hard to look at anything, much less grab anything. I know this sounds like a good problem to have, but not when chaos is driving the experience more than demand. Exhausted from wondering the outside trying to figure out what all there was to do & where to go, then braving the market, I decided to skip apple picking which was the main reason I was there! That process appeared even less clear, so no regrets. I do love the things purchased at the market, including apple cider donuts, frozen pastas, & Reading Soda Works bottles- just think I'll return to shop on a day when nothing is going on.

The veritable cherry on top of their cornucopia of fruits, vegetables, jarred foods, baked goodies, pretzels, popcorn, candies, and frozen foods is their Whoopie Pie Festival, which we attended today. The Festival runs on Feb. 26-28 & March 5-7 between 9am - 4pm. Essentially, you can create Your Own Whoopie Pie for $4 each, 4 or more at $3.50 each, and 12 or more $3 each. Here's how it works - make your customized selections of one of 12 cookies, one of 11 frostings, and one of 7 toppings, and Brecknock will build your pie. I went full Elvis mode and selected banana cookies, peanut butter frosting, and chocolate chip toppings around the circumference. We had a great time at Brecknock -making our Whoopie pies, playing a whoopie pie trivia game, and picking up a few odds and ends for us and friends. PRO TIP Hats off to Brecknock for their generosity and hospitality. They had free samples everywhere- whoopie pie wedges, pretzels, popcorn, and all sorts of goodies. It worked on us, because after sampling some honey mustard pretzels, we couldn't grab a bag fast enough.
