After 7 years of going back to school and moving back to my moms I moved out again and lived in the same 1 bedroom apt as I had 7 years ago!!! So seriously though, nice landlord and I never had troubles. They allow cats but not dogs (the walls are not super thin but you would be able to hear a dog barking) There is a decent enough cabinet space in the 1 bedroom but the dining room is really small. The 2 bedroom is laid out better but the living room is a strange shaped rectangle. They only have baseboard heating which is kind of nice, it the only have box air conditioners which isn't nice. I had a few minor maintenance issues when there but she was fast to fix things. It's an older complex but still nicer than some if the places I've seen by far. The pricing is pretty inexpensive too. They are right next to the bike path and the park! I once had to call the cops and they were there in 2 min no joke. They are right nearby!

You can hear everything through the walls as they are paper thin, even a cough from your neighbor sounds like they're standing in your living room. The management office is unbelievably rude, especially the AA woman. My dishwasher flooded and the water was up to my ankles, trying to get maintenance out to your apartment is a joke. If you complain to management they start doing spiteful things such as sending packages away, even going as far as writing up false noise complaints. The reason I know they're false is because the complaints didn't start until 3 years after I lived there and my neighbors assured me that they never complained or heard any noise (outside of standard living) coming from my apartment. There isn't many up to date rental properties in highland but I promise this place is NOT worth it.

Manager Joyce Koch Rude & will cheat you out of security deposit:…read moreI lived at Embassy Place located in Munster, Indiana for 5 years (owned by Wildwood Properties), the condo and property itself was nice and wll kept, however I had a terrible experience with the office manager Joyce Koch. Joyce was very nice when showing you the property until you signed your lease, after becoming a tenant, she was often times nasty and sarcastic with her responses to your requests. I recently moved and contacted Joyce prior to moving to ensure that I did all steps to ensure that when I moved I would receive my full security deposit. Joyce advised me that normal wear and tear(painting of walls) would not be deducted and only items that were broken or for example missing blinds. When I moved in we did a walk-in where I signed off and listed any details that were wrong with the apartment. One of the things we discovered in the walk-in was that the microwave had a crack in it. We noted it on the list. When I did the walk through the date of my move out there were no new notes added to my check out list as everything was in order. We cleaned and even had the carpet cleaned to ensure that there would be no issues. The Director of maintenance and I both signed off on the walk through list and he assured me that all was fine. He even mentioned that there was no need for me to clean the carpet as they were planning to put the condo up for sale. When I received my security deposit check back Joyce deducted $200 for a new microwave. I called her and she said that it was not due to the cracks on the handle, however but the microwave door was cracked. I asked that she send me pictures or if I could come see it because I know that everything was left in the condition it was when I moved in. She said she could not produce pictures and they discarded the microwave so I could not see it. I also asked via e-mail how long the life of a microwave would be before she replaced it and she told me 6 years .I lived there for 5 years and someone lived there for at least 1 year prior (whomever cracked the handle). I asked to speak with her boss or someone else and she told me there was no one else to speak with and basically there was nothing I could do, although myself and the person doing the walk out inspection signed off that everything was fine and in good condition. Basically she wanted to replace the cracked handle on the microwave and I paid for it. Due to this experience and many more I would not recommend Embassy Place or any Wildwood Properties to anyone until they get management that works fairly and legally with their tenants.

I'm adding to the rest of the reviews here to state how toxic the property manager is. She can be…read morenice for a little while sometimes but it isn't long before she rears her ugly head again. Currently she is falsely accusing me of not letting an old man into the building at 3 AM when he was locked out when the truth is I didn't know he was locked out IF he was. I think it was a false claim of his to cover up him harassing me in the middle of the night. At 3 AM, the man started pounding ferociously on my bedroom window which is behind bushes and yelling about something and I did not know what it was. Based on things that have happened and been done and said by him in the past, I was not okay with him pounding on my window like that and yelling in the wee hours of the morning, nor was I okay with having any type of confrontation with him at that hour without witnesses around. The property manager in the office is toxic and the guy who was pounding on my window very obnoxiously and loudly is not a nice guy. Laura is already judging the matter as if she has it all figured out without hearing my side of the story even once and she was even swearing at me because I called the police due to being scared. She badgered me and called me a swear word for calling the police which everybody has a right to do whenever they are afraid and I was afraid at the moment. I want her to know that I will call the police again and again and again and again and as many times as I need to and I will also file as many reports as I need to about anything and she will never stop me by calling me names or harassing me in any other way and that lady needs to shut her yap when she has not heard the whole story. All she did in the office today was reveal who she wants to side with and not who's in the right or who's in the wrong and God declares her to be a fool. God, my father in my King James Bible says "He that answereth a matter before he heareth it, it is folly and shame unto him." and that's what she did. She is answering the matter before she has heard the whole matter and that is because she is indeed a fool and that's according to God and I do not care about the judgment calls or opinions of fools. Thankfully, the police told the man to not be knocking on my window again so hopefully he will obey the police. If he doesn't, I will call them again. Editing this to add: I wonder if Laura the property manager told the man upstairs in my building after he ran two women out in fear last year that he should be a good neighbor or get out. I think she thinks I might be ignorant about the crap he's done and lately he has been having some very strange episodes even revving his car so hard that it seems he's trying to make it explode and that right outside my window. He has been acting crazy and I think it's attention seeking which is also why I thought he was intentionally being a nuisance and attention seeking banging on my window like a maniac at 3:00 a.m. I literally think that man is a time bomb waiting to explode and I haven't mentioned all there is to mention. He has also been inappropriate with me by saying something inappropriate and I don't want to be alone with him at any point. And I would also like to say that the man upstairs in my building whom I would not have dealings with at 3:00 a.m. has also let his dog jump on two of my vehicles even my brand new vehicle and then has said afterward that we're just going to overlook it and let it go. Listen I'm not overlooking it and I am not just going to let it go and no it's not okay for you to let your property ruin other people's property.
