In other words, I had upper jaw surgery because my jaw was very poorly aligned. I was told for years that I needed to get the treatment and was incredibly reluctant because of the time, braces and cost. However, I ultimately decided to pursue treatment. It has been due to the professionalism and service of Dr. Lang and the entire SOMFS team, that I am willing to fly back and forth between New York City and Spokane, WA to receive treatment. Over the last few years, Dr. Lang has been gracious, helpful and considerate when answering my questions (via email, phone and in person consultation) and the SOMFS team was extremely helpful when it came to scheduling the surgery, dealing with insurance (which was a nightmare...but ultimately we prevailed) and treating me with respect and care during and after the surgery. The surgery was successful and the advice and care I received in the months following my surgery has been extremely thorough. Long story short, if you need any sort of oral or maxillofacial surgery, SOMFS is the place to go. The price is right, the care is great and the doctors and staff are top notch.

Dr. Clayhold replaced a failed implant that became severely infected after surgery. I was in the…read moreprocess of moving out of state and called their office to inform them of the golf ball-sized infection in my extremely bruised face. While they called in an antibiotic prescription it didn't help. When I tried reaching Dr. Clayhold after hours on his cell phone, it went to voice mail. I ended up needing emergency surgery ($3,000) from a different surgeon to have the implant taken out. Not only did Dr. Clayhold and his practice refuse to reimburse me for the work they'd done, they suggested that since I was able to drive 100 miles to the "new" surgeon, I should have driven the 400 miles to their office for them to take care of it. As it was, given my pain level, I was in no condition to make either of the trips and had to find someone to drive me to the closer surgeon. Dr. Clayhold's office did offer me an insulting $500 "hardship" credit to my $5,000+ procedure, which included a $1,000 robotics upcharge less than 24 hours before surgery, related to my bone density. The entire experience was a nightmare. I was on antibiotics for nearly a month, missed several days of work, and $8,000 later, I still don't have an implant.

While my previous dentist was fine, I started feeling uneasy about the amount of work being recommended (fillings, crowns, etc.) that didn't seem urgent. I wanted a second opinion, and I'm grateful I found this office! The dental office atmosphere felt warm and welcoming--not cold or sterile like many dental offices. The entire staff was friendly and genuinely kind. Tammy helped get me set up as a new patient and was amazing. She made me feel very comfortable during my perio charting, which not all offices do. As someone with some gum recession, I really appreciated that they take this seriously and track it closely. Dr. Eliassen was so wonderful. She was thorough, patient, and generous with her time. She walked me through my x-rays, explained everything clearly, and even fixed an enamel chip I had (which fixed the cold sensitivity that I was experiencing). Every single time I have been there, I felt that each one in the office cared for my dental health and wanted to provide the best services possible. In my opinion, they have exceeded my expectations especially when compared to the other dentists I used to go to until Integrated Dental Arts opened their doors around 1991. This latest yearly examination was, in many ways, more efficient due to the continued expertise of the staff from the front desk to the assistants for Dr. Hakes and Samantha, who did the scheduling for my next visit. All of them were not only efficiently performing their duties but were exceedingly professional in doing so. I cannot envision going anywhere else for my dental health needs.

He briefly looked inside my mouth, touched my internal scar for maybe 20 seconds, spent about two minutes explaining that he couldn't help me, and then charged me $300 in cash. There were no X-rays, etc. What made things worse was that his office had already received my medical and dental insurance information. Yet, the staff got defensive and refused to file or submit the claim, saying they wouldn't handle the paperwork. I've experience working with another dental surgeon with a different specialty who is also not in my insurance network -- and that team goes above and beyond to help me and ensure every step of the process is covered. Said it'd be easy, would snap right in, etc. Neglected to tell me he'd be destroying my teeth in the process. I would've used sedation. He knew I was phobic, but he had his hands in my mouth and when I raised my hand for him to stop because it felt like he was slicing the inside of my jaw he just said 'i can't quit now.' the hell he couldnt? He also ignored me when I asked him to stop the making of the bridge. I'll be taking him to court.
