They drop you off in the middle of the corn maze, and you have to find your way to each station. Unfortunately, when we went, the aftermath of the hurricane was here, so it was extremely muddy, dark, windy, and it poured the majority of the time. We were unable to complete the trail, and the staff just told us to figure it out. There was no direction, and I know it stated no refunds, but if the weather was bad, it was supposed to be held in a different area according to their website. Not worth the price. They REALLY need to take a course on crowd control and provide more than one exit. Also, the lines inside the farm to get things like a bottle of water took almost an hour. Always a pleasant visit to Mapleside, it's become a yearly thing for us and the gorgeous view alone and makes this place. It has definitely grown in popularity so I recommend getting your tickets online and early. You can get them by time slots but they do sell tickets at arrival. However, once they sell out for the day, no one else can buy tickets. Each year they add something different, this year it was the pedal cars in a paved area that provides fun for all ages. Despite tickets being a bit on the higher side, they do have tons of things for all ages. Our favorite is of course the big slide, but they have several corn mazes, corn pits, big playground with a giant trampoline, basketball, hay rides, pig races, see saws, pumpkin patch and much more. The food prices are actually reasonable and they have delicious apple donuts and chocolate chip cookies with a variety of picnic foods like hotdogs, burgers etc. plenty of staff to help run the area and bathrooms in a bunch of different areas. Apple picking First time it was offered this fall and a great experience for the price. I like how they charged by the bag and not for each child. Especially if you have young ones. Fall fest I feel like these are overpriced for the activities. Plus can be really crowded. Also not a good place for strollers. Lots of hills and steep inclines. I'm disappointed in Mapleside and definitely won't be back. First of all, I called in advance and asked very specifically the pricing on Friday. They said it was $15/person. Although I thought even that was steep, the 5 of us still went. As we went to pay, the lady told me it would be $108 for five of us. I said I thought it was $15 per person (which the big sign clearly states when you pay). She explained that although it was Friday, they charged $18 because Monday is Columbus Day and some schools are off so the weekend starts early... huh? That makes absolutely no sense and is simply a money grab. None the less, she still got the total price wrong and had to recalculate it twice. For a family of 5 to just get in was $90, which is 100% not worth it. The prices for food and drinks are also way over priced and the activities are not that fun. The only decent activity is the long slide, everything else is okay but not worth the price tag. You arrive into pumpkin/corn world. A lot of activated for both kids and adults. First of all, you need to do the wine your way out I side the corn maze. 6 different stations with wine/beers and snacks. A lot of fun to make it harder to find your way out. They also have a 311 feet slide, super fun!! Another maze of corn is also available and this one is just really hard! We could not figure it out and we were doing it at night time. Such a great activity. They have a lot of animals, pet zoo, pig races and goose races but unfortunately we didn't see those, they were all closed. As I can see there are very mixed reviews of this farm, and I totally get it. It could go either ways. Its a very large commercialized farm with lots of attractions, activities and even concerts and other public as well as private events. We visited the farm this fall during their pumpkin fest weekend. Almost right at the entrance, to the right, there is a wall filled with pumpkins, which they call it pumpkin wall. Pumpkin wall is good for photo op, however there were so many people taking photos that its hard to get a decent photo with the entire wall. There were just few 3-5 rows of pumpkin patches. No pumpkin farm from where I can pick. Just thats all the pumpkins for a pumpkin fest weekend. Not really impressed on that. Apart from that, the farm as a whole has corn maze, hay ride, wagons, a tiny petting zoo and many such kids activities. Additionally, there is an apple farm but thats fenced and public could not enter. Bummer! It costs $14 for adults, which I personally don't feel worth it unless you have toddlers who actually enjoys the different activities. We have a crawling baby who could only enjoy the corn garden, where he was able to sit, crawl and play as he wished. On top of that it was a hot day, so couldn't really enjoy roaming around the large farm. But I can see that on a pleasant day, it could be fun to nurture the beauty of the farm. In a hot day, I'd recommend going towards the evening, could be a lot better. Although, I'm not really impressed with the pumpkin fest theme yet the farm, as a whole, has a lot to offer especially for kids. read more

If you enjoy fall things and wine/beer, you have to come here for the tasting through the corn maze. You park down below or up top and walk down the hill to the corn maze. They give you a pairing box with cheese, meat and an apple to eat with your choices of wine or beer. There are six different stops along the corn maze and you get to try either the wine or beer! They were all delicious, especially the pumpkin ale and dessert wine! We also enjoyed the apple pie flavored one. It was a great experience and fun thing to do with friends. Also, afterward you can roam the farm. There's a fun slide, hay ride, and other games. Additionally, they had some live music and a store up top! Really pretty place with great views as well. We've been going to Mapleside Farms for years, and in the past five years (since the Clements bought it) it has gotten continually better each year. The highlights include a giant bounce pillow for jumping (my kids' favorite part), a giant wall of pumpkins and gourds (great fall family photo opps), huge corn mazes, several hayride options, pumpkin carving station, water duck races, a huge tee-pee to explore, bonfires scattered throughout, and zombie paintball-- against the backdrop of the most beautiful orchard in Ohio. The owners have done an amazing job of cultivating a festive fall family fest, and they deserve 5 stars. Take your family here- you won't regret it! PS: the zombie paintball is a separate charge. You buy tickets for a time, but they don't exactly manage the times. Meaning: go whenever you want to go. The only thing the ticket does is make sure you don't get locked out when they sell out. My kids have been begging to go for years, and this year was our first time trying it. The whole experience is so well done. I enjoyed Mapleside Farms a lot. There was a ton of stuff to do, lots of good fall photo opportunities and even zombie paintball. They also sell alcoholic beverages for those of us that need it when the kids get to be too much. They do have a kid area with a jump pad and playground but I didn't go in, as I don't have kids. I didn't, but I've heard you can pick your own pumpkins and apples. They have hay rides, corn mazes, good food, pumpkin patches and animals. Zombie Paintball was okay. I saw a lot of people complaining that the zombies weren't "real enough" but don't read too much in to that. Not sure what people expect, when it's real people getting shot at. Of course they're going to have a lot of padding and not be able to run at you. It was fun to shoot paintball after dark regardless though. I would suggest buying your paintball tickets on Groupon. We love Mapleside especially on Saturday's in October! My sister and I have been visiting since we were kids but recently have visited the past 6 years! It is best to visit in October as The pumpkin patch is open. This year we went late September and the pumpkin patch wasn't open but it's still a wonderful visit every year, the staff is friendly and it's a great environment for all ages, a perfect place for family or an event. Must check out inside the apple house & bakery, there are lots of fall goodies including assorted butters, we love the Barbecue sauce and missed it this year! Perhaps it's just the nostalgia captured from memories of my childhood when my grandma took me here for creme filled candies, but as an adult this place is overpriced, boring, and filled with loud children (aka snivlers) at peak times. Took home some kolachkies for myself and our elderly polish neighbors who later notified us that they weren't baked long enough. For five bucks a pack, I ate every single one of my kolachkies. Writing a 4 star review only because I know I wasn't able to see everything they have to offer. My family and I came here during the Johnny appleseed festival. So they were very busy. Lots to offer here though, I assume most of it was because the festival was going on. The biggest attraction is the slide near the top of the farm. It's labeled the world tallest slide. And it is very fun. I took my son down it twice and I've never seen him so happy. They have this long corn maze that's a joy to walk through. And the general scenery, it's gorgeous. This is NOT a pumpkin patch. Thankfully access to the pumpkins is free except for the buy by the pound pumpkin. The pumpkins were set in rows on a grassy area just outside of the entrance to Pumpkin Village ($14 for kids over TWO and adults under 55). While the pumpkins were nice, there is no value add for buying them here - you might as well buy the ones set outside of Giant Eagle. The Pumpkin Village area had nothing to do with pumpkins at all. There were pig races, a giant slide, a wagon ride through the orchard (where you CANNOT pick your own apples), a tiny petting zoo, a corn maze and other gimmicky games for children. My advise - skip it all. There are food shops at the entrance to everything. You can buy apples there, pies, apple cider, and other ready to eat fair type foods. Nothing special. There were at least on the weekend I went people dressed in superhero costumes for kids to take pictures with. read more

I fell in love with this nice countryside farm,well for me it was countryside, theres no "farms" in New York City lol. Went for their yearly pumpkin festival, pricing was a bit higher than other places i had looked at but was totally worth it. $12 was all inclusive, only wish they allowed my 2 1/2 year old in for free since he was still 2 (technically) but eh. We went during the johnny appleseed fest too so we got 2 things for the price of one which keeps mama happy! They have a great play area for children, with a jumping pillow, a great tire mountain, spider web swing and a playground. They also have a 300 foot long slide, great for the kids, my husband and boys were so excited for it. Its quite a climb back up the hill though (FEEL THAT BURN). The scenery was beautiful, set along a quite valley in Brunswick, the fall foliage was breathtaking, and it has plenty of photo ops. Pig and Cow rides ( fake of course), 3 corn mazes, and another play area for kids. My only gripe is this place boasts itself as being a orchard, and i didnt get to pick one apple nor was there a pumpkin patch big enough to actually go picking in. Everything was already inside their store picked for you, took the fun out of what i was trying to show my sons. Rolling acres, picturesque trees, breathtaking views of apple orchards, pumpkin patches, fields of corn, streams, ponds, wood burning fireplaces and comfort food galore. Memories of childhood mean a lot to me. I remember taking family trips to Mapleside to pick out pumpkins and sip hot cider in the fall. But it wasn't until later in life that I got to appreciate all of those memories to the fullest. A recent return to Mapleside Farms reminded me of those childhood memories. Everything was as beautiful as I once remembered it. The apple dumplings as mouth watering and the cider as warm as it was 20 some years prior. Two words: Zombie Paintball After dusk you can journey down the Mapleside property to a dark, secluded barn where military personnel train you on how to shoot zombies. In the woods. At night. You'll get goggles, a gun and 100 paintballs to take down some 'bies and you'll do it on a tractor. I'm sorry, but there's something about the woods at night... and tractors... and corn mazes... it just freaks me out. As you get pulled slowly through the woods, you'll spot spooky areas glowing with black light and then... they appear! Stumbling towards you--ready to eat your brains! I think I wasted most of my ammo on the first two zombie encounters, but don't worry--they'll let you refill halfway through for a small fee. And if I could make any suggestions for first timers, it's this: - PRE-ORDER your tickets online! This is a must. They practically sell out every night. - BRING CASH! Here's my Mapleside Rating Equation... +5 Stars = I've been coming here since I was a little girl. Mostly with my grandma so this place has a lot of nostaglia going on for me. The grounds are gorgeous, there's something just breathtaking about this piece of land. -2 Stars = I'm not sure if Mapleside is under new ownership but in my opinion they've waaaaaaaaay over commercialized this place! I know, I know they need to make money and having droves of kids and their families come in everyday of the week is the way to get it - but it just made it, well, less magical for me. -3 Stars = I know Mother Nature is to blame for our recent bouts of rain - but OMG, can we say MUD PIT?! The weekend I visited my shoes were ruined (my bad for not thinking ahead and wearing rain boots), but everywhere you stepped it was squish, squash - so nasty. -1 Star = The hayride was pulled by a tractor... last year they had beautiful horses pulling the rides. While I'm a fan of those horsies getting some rest, it took away from the legit country-esque feeling for me. +1 Star = The corn maze, while I did not partake - was sweet! You could see it from atop the hill and it looked HUGE! Plus, they had an awesome looking Jump Park (kids only, sorry adults!) that was filled with screaming (with joy, of course) kids. +1 Star = For *effort* in attempting to create a "Super Slide" down the hill as an alternative route to Pumpkin Village. We checked out the store inside first and picked up some green bean chips, an apple fritter, and apple cider that we enjoyed while sitting on a rock wall outside and taking in the beautiful fall scenery. I only give this place three stars because we did not stay too long because they were having a family event and it was getting pretty crowded. I would go back though maybe, and check out a hayride or the corn maze. Side note, don't get the pumpkin roll unless you want to be disappointed.
