I've been coming to Red Wagon Farm my entire life. My grandparents were good friends with the Ross family, and leased their land for them to farm. Right now is you-pick strawberry season which brings a TON of customers! If that's not your jam (see what I did there? JAM?! Ok never mind :)), you can buy pre-picked quarts. They have a ton of other produce, too, like corn, tomatoes, lettuces, and peaches, and other goods like jellies, pies, sauces and marinades, and they also serve ice cream. In the fall they have pumpkins, hayrides, and corn mazes. It's such a special place to my family, and I hope you enjoy it, too. read more

Yesterday my sister and I were looking into going to a pumpkin farm with the rest of our family. I came on Yelp looking for places as well as googling. I came across Red Wagon Farm and it checked all the boxes for what we wanted to do today. I copied the website and sent it to my sis. She said yes and off we went with our family. I was kind of deterred at first by some of the reviews I read but decided to check them out anyway. We were not disappointed, they had an amazing hay ride (my two sisters and i hadn't been to a pumpkin farm together or a hay ride since the 90's. It was definitely over due. The employees were super friendly and the trail the tractor follows had some cute, funny displays. My niece kept pointing out the awful spelling on the signs and we told her they were on purpose. We enjoyed the little ride. My family went through the huge corn maze (not my thing) but the kids said they had fun. They have a huge play area for the kiddos. Food tents where we got hot dogs, burgers, fries, onion rings and fried pickles. My sister and nephew got some apple cider too. They have a store where they sell all kinds of goodies, pumpkins, apples, breads, popcorn, honey, peppers, all kinds of stuff. The prices are a little on the high side but with me being from California and going to apple hill the prices for the good were about the same. They had a good size pumpkin patch and a pumpkin patch where for $10 you can try to carry as many as you can and they only cost that $10. We opted to just get the regulars from the pumpkin patch. They have quite a few picnic benches to eat at also porta potties with hand sanitizer and hand washing stations. It's a huge farm and lots to do. It gets busy we went around 11 and before we left it was really getting crowded or as my sisters and I call it (too peopley) haha we will be coming here again and definitely for our pumpkins again. read more

Absolutely horrified at changes made to Red Wagon this year. We always look forward to visiting this farm several times throughout the Autumn season. Our visit yesterday was our last visit. It is no longer a delightful and peaceful experience. The Brown's game was loudly blaring over speakers. There is a bar open now serving alcohol, many drunken loud people. Not a good or safe atmosphere to bring children to. I suppose they will make a lot more money. Always more important then being a safe family friendly country place. Here is my thing.. the farm is beautiful and sprawling and free to get onto. It has a great play area for kids with hay and dried corn to play in. Still free. This is a nice environment. Beyond this you start to pay and that is not really a bad thing... they need to make money, right? So the corn maze is very well done, and goal oriented. Find 4 posts spread in the maze, use the different hole punches in each to prove you made to all four. The Tractor ride is okay, might be better at night. So then they have the pumpkin choices... you can... buy pumpkins individually... i think it's something like 37 cents per pound (we got 2 pumpkins, 47 lbs total, for about $17. OR, you can try your luck as.. How many can you carry.. so you pile up how ever many you think you can manage.. pay $10.. and you get what you can lift AND hold. Caveat... if you manage only two steadily and the others fall.. you get those two. So... for me... I would check both areas, find the largest best pumpkins in the All you can carry, and walk out with two and save myself $7. Or go to Marc's and pay like 3.69 per pumpkin. That's just me... but for the experience of letting my boys each pick out the pumpkin they wanted it was nice and worth it. I love Red Wagon Farm, I look for their Groupon deal every year. It comes with hay ride, corn maze for two and $20 credit toward pumpkins. If you come early in the season first weeks of October you can do "all the pumpkins you can carry" deal included to this deal which you end up with 5 pumpkins! However this year price was .35/pound. They have a farmers market that they sell variety of pumpkins for pie or decoration and fresh veggies, apples and apple cider. Also corn! You can also buy fall/harvest decorations as well. They have activities for kids and a lot of photo props to take photos. read more

We've done twice and both times have been pretty good. They don't have a HUGE selection, but they have some good stuff. I thought it would be a bit bigger when we first went, but it was pretty fun. My son loves climbing on the hay stacks and seeing all of the tractors. read more

I've been visiting Red Wagon for several years now. It's always a safe bet for in-season fresh produce & fruit. The fruits vary from great peppers, eggplants, cucumber, pumpkin, corn to fruits like juicy watermelon. peaches, apples. This place is a very family friendly especially for the kiddies. They are well known for their pumpkin festival that usually begins first Sunday of October ( 12 -5 ) complete with Hay Ride through spooky woods (kid friendly), Hay Maze, Corn Maze, caramel apple dipping, and a very nice Pumpkin Patch. At times it can get busy, however Sunday early afternoons are a good time to go. I have taken many a great fall pictures of my little one in the pumpkin patch. We were recently back in Cleveland for a long weekend and wanted to take our little one to a pumpkin patch. A friend suggested this one because it is cheaper and less crowded then Mapleside. The Red Wagon Farm was great fun and my almost two year old loved it. It happened to be quite a nice warm fall day in Cleveland so it wasn't too muddy, but just a little. In the fall they offer hay rides to pick your own pumpkins, a corn maze, a children's play area, and a small pumpkin patch. They also offer a contest of sorts, where you pay $10 to pick up as many pumpkins as you can. It has to be a clean pick up and you can't have anyone stack them for you. My husband was able to do 3 at one time. The fourth one kept falling off. It ended up with the size of the pumpkins to be cheaper then just buying one by the lb. It was also just funny to see him do it. We spent most of our time in the children's play area because it was free unlike the hay ride and corn maze. They had a giant pool of corn that they kids could play in, a small maze, a bunch of hay for the kids to bounce, jump, and just play on, a chess board where you used pumpkins as pieces, and big tires to play in. My little one had so much fun and didn't want to leave at all. We stopped in the farmers market and prices were decent. A little high for apples in my opinion, but not as bad as the grocery stores. Corn was 6/$1, which is a great price for fresh corn on the cob. They have a cute little farmers market. You can't beat fresh produce anytime so it was a great thing to have! Overall I would definitely go back and take my little one next year. I would also suggest it to my friends. The only downside I found was that the hay ride and corn maze were too expensive. I wish they would have had an all-inclusive pass as opposed to having to pay for each thing individually. read more

This was a fun little place to visit on a Fall day with friends and family. We actually purchased a Groupon which made it only $18 for 2 of us. The Groupon included tickets to the hay ride, corn maze, and the pumpkin patch. The hay ride was cute. It was through the woods and is family friendly. There were scare crows depicting different things such as camping, kids in costume, etc. the only downside is that our ride had a flat tire. It would have been nice if they offered us another ride since it was horribly bumpy and felt unsafe. Next, we visited the corn maze. Apparently, we were supposed to come across check-points but we never did. It probably took us like less than 30 minutes or so to make it out. Next, we took my niece to the kid area to play and to go in the kid wooden maze. She had a lot of fun. Last, we went to the pumpkin patch. It was all the pumpkins you can carry at one time, you can keep. We got to try it twice. We got 6 pumpkins. There were some food vendors set up but we didn't try anything. Ok, this was my first time ever to Red Wagon, (I guess this is the place all my Facebook friends were referring to when they said they were taking the kiddos to the "Pumpkin Patch") but wow - I am in love. In the same weekend I had also visited the mud pit, er - Mapleside, and I was sad over what I found there. But, Red Wagon was the Fall Splendor Savior for me! My bestie and I had toted her 3-year-old son and 12-year-old niece along with us to Red Wagon and they were both fans. Our first stop was the crawly hay maze (kids only) and while it was wet and slightly muddy - there were plenty of kids loving it, parents looked a little disgusted, but it was fun. Then we hit up the hayride ($2 charge per person), yes it was pulled by a tractor - but the trailer had no sides! It felt very country to me and dangerous but in a 'if I was kid I would love it' kind of way! I'm a kid at heart - so of course I loved it! Next, we went to browse through the produce - I love locally grown stuff, so my arms were full as we left (sweet peppers, tomatoes, squash). I was told the produce is seasonal (of course) and the season starts in June and runs through the first week of November - I think the website has more detail & recipes to try! The kiddos got some cider, popcorn, and candies. And to top the shopping trip off, I picked up my very own cornstalk to take home to the boyfriend for our Fall decorating! It was crazy heavy though and definitely got the bestie's car a little dirty. Our last stop was the Pumpkin Patch - the one where you pay $13 dollars, choose the pumpkins you want, and if you're able to lift them all at the same time, by yourself, no assistance, and not by the stems - you can take them! My bestie ended up picking up three all by herself... which was amazing until we ended up struggling to get back to the car with three people helping carry them & a 3-year-old! But, it was definitely fun. Not to mention half-way through our trek back to the car a very nice young man (one of the parking attendants) offered to help carry one of the pumpkins. Thank goodness! The staff inside the store (where you have to go to pay for the strawberries you pick) were rude and unhelpful. Have you ever wondered how many pumpkins you could lift and carry in one load? Well, for $10 the Red Wagon Farm will fulfill your dreams. For the record, our total was 3 large pumpkins. The ultimate record was 13. Red Wagon's pumpkin festival was a spectacular find (considering I didn't even know where Columbia Station, OH was despite it being 10 minutes from my new apartment). There was a $3 corn maze that was well worth the price. Not just a corn maze, but a scavenger hunt as well as you try to find 4 markers located throughout the maze. It was hard. And I know my way around a corn maze or two..... There were also lots of stuff for the kiddos as well, purely from an observant standpoint. There was a hay ride and "play area" that all the children seemed to be flocking towards. Me? I settled for the corn maze and pumpkin acquiring. Overall, I very successful fall day. This place is a great choice for the little, little ones. There is a play area for the kids, hay maze, a fun hay ride, plenty of pumpkins for sale, a store/farmers market and a stand where they have food. While this farm has a lot less going on than the 'other farm,' it's also a lot more affordable. I did have so much money left over from the (lack of) entertainment, I was able to go a little crazy inside the store. We had a very moist and delicious pumpkin roll, it wasn't made on premises, but was still made locally and it was really special. Pumpkins, popcorn, apples, apple cider and some fresh veggies. My niece is 3 years old and she had an absolute blast. In the end, that's all that matters. It's just not an all day thing, after an hour or two, there's nothing else left but to go home. read more

This is my favorite place to pick strawberries every June. You can pick 1 bucket which is equal to 4 quarts for only $10. You definitely have to go when they first open as they run out of you pick fields early. If they do you can buy a quart of berries for $5. Anyone who posts an outlier-- a really negative review when everyone else posts good ones-- has an obligation to explain themselves. You should convince readers that you aren't a jilted ex, or a Yelp ad salesman using a phony persona to ding a merchant for not buying ads. So let me qualify this pan very carefully. 1. I don't have kids, don't do fall festivals and am pretty much allergic to fun. Every word written about the hay rides, corn mazes and pumpkin-related escapades might be 100% true.I wouldn't know. As Alton Brown put it, "I'm just here for the food," 2. My folks are from Geauga County; my wife's folks are from Portage County. Both sides of the family make trips to the farm markets in Amish Country. I've spent a lot of time in family farm markets and will not be easily impressed. With that said, blah. Red Wagon Farms is 20 minutes away from where I live, so I would REALLY like to like their produce.It would save me three hours of round-trip driving to see the fams It's just not impressive. For one thing, the prices are high. I don't mind paying premium to support local farmers, or for really good stuff. I never got anything worth the money-- or even that I really wanted to eat again. I tried the strawberries and the tart cherries (they make better pies). The cherries were more sour than tart. The picked strawberries were underripe and underflavored. The apples were OK. I got decent apple butter and an adequate pie. Nothing I couldn't get from the produce in at, say, Shaker's IGA in Olmsted Township. (Didn't try the cider, since I wasn't impressed by the raw materials.) The slicing tomatoes were hard and tasted mostly of water. The romas were hard and didn't improve when I roasted them for sauce. Same with the green peppers. (I didn't try the hot ones; they looked unappealing. I don't like banana peppers.) I tried the green beans steamed, baked and southern-stewed. None of the ways provided much. And the corn is simply a waste of time. If you like it, drive to Dussel Farms in Brimfield or Rufeners in Suffield; Heinens deals with a couple of good providers. I have no complaints about the selection or the service. I just wouldn't want to eat anything they grow. read more

They have cute photo opportunity areas with a "how tall this fall" and other wooden cut outs for your little ones. The pumpkin by weight area could use more pumpkin size variety. Its free to visit, no charge parking but remember to bring enough in cash or plan to make a minimum $10 purchase at EACH register in order to use credit/debit card per their terms. My wife and I wanted to find a place to pick our own pumpkins. We called Red Wagon Farm to see if we could pick there - they said yes and that they were open until 6. When we got there, all they had were a bunch of pre-picked pumpkins behind some plastic fencing. When I asked them to point is to the direction of the pumpkin patch, the woman said she didn't even know where they were grown on the property. All they had were the pre-picked selection. We promptly left. Could have gone to Walmart for the same experience and gotten them cheaper. Waste of an hour drive. read more

Literally the worst service and most rude woman I've ever encountered. I went with my father and service dog. We went and picked up three pumpkins which ended up being $20 (kind of pricy for half squished flat pumpkins. We went to weigh them inside and was rudely directed to the outside. The woman had an attitude about my service dog being there. She stated "the scale is outside and no dogs." And turned around to walk away. Which I had to take my dog back to the car and purchase the pumpkins from this rude woman who didn't even think to consider that he's a registered service dog. Needless to say, we're on our way to Mapleside Farms now and don't plan on returning to Red Wagon. read more
