Animals include lions, tigers, bears, turtles, goats, horses, cougars, leopards, servals, foxes, macaques, etcetera. The sanctuary relies on admission fees and charitable donations to provide housing, food, and veterinary care for these animals. Hours vary by season, and admission prices vary by people's age. Currently, the admission price is $15 per adult, and children cost less. Food such as crackers can be purchased in the gift shop and fed to some animals. The website contains a wish list of many items that people can donate. I visited this sanctuary on a Monday afternoon. Most of the animals' enclosures were fairly spacious. I saw an emu who had deformed legs, horses who could not see, a deer who had cancerous tumors, and so on. I feel happy to know that these animals have a home to live out the rest of their lives, and I encourage other people to visit and financially support this sanctuary.

This place is AMAZING!!!…read more The store is huge and spacious and smells literally sweet! Why? Because they have syrup!! They offer sweat shirts to calendars! They have a blind cat that wonders the store (it does scratch but will brush up against your leg. Prices are reasonable 10 for adults 7 for kids You walk out into the yard and are greeted by bunnies and fish and swans and live stock all friendly! Then comes the menagerie of wild animals. The whole grounds do go quickly, but I guarantee you'll have fun! Some of the fenced areas have some undergrowth that makes seeing animals hard (I was a little upset about that) bc you want to be able to see them but the brambles and upgrowth makes it hard. Wild beasties are gorgeous and vocal and fun to watch weather they are rolling in the grass or taking a dip in their pools. It's my birthday and I literally had a day and experience I'll always treasure!

We had expected to maybe pet a few alpacas, and feed some goats, but we got to go into the pens with alpacas, goats, mini pigs, mini horses and donkeys, KANGAROOS, and a wallaby. There's a free ranging tortoise, and a rather cranky camel as well. All of the animals are super social, and came right up to us for pets, even if we didn't have any food. There are add-on private encounters, but my friend wasn't interested in those, so we just did the tour, and got plenty of dopamine from that!

This is a hobby-esque farm in a smaller town in Ohio. I know one of the biggest complaints about…read morehobby/pay-for-viewing farms is that they aren't enriching for the animals. I do not know enough about animal welfare (and what they need, when enclosed) to note anything about animal welfare, so I won't. I will say that there were a ton of attendants around, and the animals seemed active and with full coats of healthy-looking fur and feathers though. NOTES: -It's definitely outside. Most of the places you'll hang out are somewhat covered for shade/rain purposes. -It's much, much more casual than most zoos I've been in. While you can't necessarily go riding a camel, if the camel comes up to you (and doesn't eat your hat), they're very touchable. -Because this farm is so casual, it's really not a good fit for kids who don't listen. They are animals, and they can peck back if your kid is doing something that annoys them. -Most pathways are mud/gravel. Plan footwear or any accessibility access accordingly. -Most employees we encountered were definitely still in high school. -No big "backstory on the animal" signage anywhere. If you're pulling in kids, you might want to open up articles to answer any questions. OTTER ENCOUNTER: We came for the otter encounter, and I would pay for it again in a heartbeat. It was a private experience, just for the ticket attendees. We sat on the ground (on cushions), and the otters were allowed to run around us. The otters seemed pretty happy about it. They, essentially, treated us like fun new playground furniture, and they crawled pretty much anywhere they wanted. Our guide, Samyra, was absolutely amazing. She was very knowledgeable about the otters, and it's clear she loved them. They were pop around her legs and jump into her lap and squeak, and as soon as she moved, they'd follow her around. She was super friendly and definitely the most engaged/friendly employee we met that day. I wouldn't wear low-cut tops or anything that an otter can "flop" into and accidentally expose parts of you. The otters, again, treat you like playground furniture, and if they can burrow into it, they will. They were trying to get into the waistbands of jeans, and crawled onto the shoulders and down the backsides of shirts and dresses. They like playing with hair. The instructions state to tie up hair, but I don't think they would have gotten tangled in it. They just seem to like nibbling. They do have little claws, and they do bite. They don't seem like malicious or violent bites. I'd liken it to a cat love bite. I think they just like biting things. The bites are definitely a surprise ouch, but they don't break skin, and you don't really notice them after they happen. They will give little bites, though, even while seemingly happy. For example, one crawled into a pant leg, and I tried to raise the leg to see him, and he gave a little bite because he wanted to be left in the darkness. Another time, one just launched himself across the room into my lap, nipped a finger, then hopped out and kept running. Just something to note if you have little kids around. You sit on your cushions, and the otters run free around you. You can pet them as they run by, but you're not allowed to force them to stay or hold them. They will just plop into your laps, though, throughout the experience. If you've ever played with ferrets, they act like rambunctious water ferrets. They might be able to add a chair if sitting on the ground is difficult, but the otters may not interact with you as much. You stay seated on your cushions throughout the half-hour experience, and the employee gives you little otter toys and treats to attract them to you. I gotta be honest: our otters ignored all of the treats and toys and just wanted to climb around us instead. You really have to plan ahead for any of their close-up animal encounters. I'd probably guess this is their bread-and-butter for funding the place. Appointments book up like 4 months in advance, and there is no rescheduling. (There is a partial credit refund, but you'll need to stalk out another 4-month-out-date.) A lot of the animal enclosures are very cement-heavy. They aren't much to look at, and I do have some concerns there, even with no knowledge of keeping animals.

My birthday was coming up and seemed like the perfect opportunity for this idea, so I contacted Feels Like Home Farm to set up a private "snuggle session" for six people. I expected to meet the baby goats, pet some alpacas, and be on our way, but the experience was so much more than that! Marcus (one of the owners) gave our group a full tour of the farm and told us so many interesting things about the animals there. Marcus is a great tour guide and really made the experience for us (and has great travel tips). We all walked away knowing a lot more about the animals on the farm and what taking care of them entails. While I was there, I didn't think about law school once! We all had plenty of opportunities to hold the baby goats, which were even more adorable than I imagined they would be. We also fed the alpacas and met a lot of other animals (adult goats, guard dogs, guard geese, and various cats). If you love animals but cannot have your own farm, or if you are up for a unique experience in the Cleveland area, I highly suggest booking a tour and snuggle session at Feels Like Home Farms! I'm a huge adventure junkie and....this goat yoga party was one of my favorite adventures to date....This farm is literally a utopia... Feels Like Home Farm is AMAZING for: a) Private Parties - Reasonably priced and SO MUCH FREAKING FUN! Also so unique - you're never going to have another party like this! b) Goat Yoga Events - they run community yoga classes on a somewhat-regular basis throughout the year (schedule is on the farm's website!) and they're a great way to get out and try something new with friends. Their instructor, Deanna Black, is an excellent teacher and make the class very unique. I've been doing yoga for years and I'm kind-of a yoga snob....and I freaking love Deanna. Great way to support a local farm! If I could give Alissa (and her family), Deanna, the farm, the goats, the class, and the entire experience 1,000,000,000 stars, I would. I'll call out a couple things, although the list of positives is far too long to write: 1) The farm: Is STUNNING. LOTS of land and very peaceful. They have ~50 goats, primarily 4 different breeds. All are happy, healthy, ADORABLE, and super friendly. They also have 2 awesome dogs, a CUTE LITTLE PIG named Dottie (omg!), and happy ducks waddling around. Their neighbors let us meet their CRAZY-COOL mini donkeys, cows, and pigs! I honestly never wanted to leave. Alissa and her husband took us on a tour of the farm and taught us all about their animals!! It was AWESOME! 2) The people: Alissa, her husband, and her daughters were unbelievably passionate about what they do at the farm, loving towards their animals, and so excited to share their farm with us. Alissa was INCREDIBLY responsive to all of my requests, and personalized literally EVERY little thing about the party. She was very creative, and thought of ideas I NEVER would have (like bringing in a local food truck!). I interact with a lot of business owners through Yelp, and Alissa has been by far the most fun and passionate one yet. 3) The Yoga: If you want a good workout, Deanna's class is great. She is also EXCELLENT at leading guided meditations. I was so relaxed and present by the end of class. Deanna is also AWESOME at incorporating acro-yoga into her classes. We did some CRAZY moves I've never done before (see my pictures!) 4) Convenient location - The farm is only about 25 - 30 minutes from Ohio City and an easy drive. We had no issues with parking at all. HUGE THANK YOU to all of you for making this such an unbelievably unique experience that none of us will forget!

They also have two concession stands! Our family spent four hours and never even made it to the corn maze. The staff is overly accommodating and friendly. I am really surprised by the previous yelp's I read. This is a small family owned business and they were all running around keeping things clean and in order. I really think people need to be careful right now more than ever leaving a bad review because you may be in a mood yourself. If your heading to an outdoor event I would not expect all people to be walking around outside in a mask. If your that afraid you just may want to stay home an order a pumpkin on line. Don't leave a poor review on a local business working hard to stay up and running. This farm has been in Hartville for a long time. That's why it gets packed so quickly. Loyal customers that enjoy a great service they provide to our community. If your looking for a fun day out I highly recommend stopping here.
