We love seeing young children grow in their love for God and learning. Check out why we're a superb place for your young child to attend preschool and kindergarten. Qualified ECE Teachers: Our teachers are passionate about educating young children. But passion alone doesn't make a good educator--that's why all our lead teachers posses degrees/certifications in Early Childhood Education (ECE). In addition, our teachers and assistants are assessed twice annually using the Classroom Assessment Scoring System® (CLASS) to ensure your child receives a quality education. All our staff are CPR/First-Aid certified. Play-Centered, Holistic Approach: We use Virginia DOE-approved curriculum (Pocket of Preschool for preschool classes and The Creative Curriculum for Kindergarten). We follow a play-centered, transversal learning approach in our classrooms. Learning through play ensures your child develops holistically—across the physical, social, educational, and spiritual spectrum. Family Support: When you come to Little Lambs, you get not only an outstanding preschool, but you get a church thrown in. Our church comes alongside you to support you as you raise your children. We were looking for a school in the area that was not only rich in their curriculum, but a school that was diverse in its culture and one that embraced children of all ethnicities. I noticed that during Black Histoy Month (2/2023), there were no initiatives highlighted in the February Monthly newsletter to recognize the contributions of the many African-Americans that have contributed to American History. I decided to email the staff with ideas in which Black History Month could be incorporated into the curriculum, considering that there were a number of African-American students enrolled at HCA. I received a phone call immediately from one of the Administrators (Mrs. Juliana) stating that this was an oversight and that they would be sure to highlight Black History Month. I had a follow-up conversation with the Curriculum Specialist (Mrs. Giovanna)...and to my surprise, she had incorporated many of the items that I highlighted in my email! Not to mention, how swiftly she acted upon this. I would like to extend my SINCEREST gratitude for all that HCA has done for Black History Month and everything that they are instilling in my children daily. I was thoroughly impressed with the various learning activities the students participated in throughout the month. They exceeded my expectations on highlighting African-American culture and the many great achievements of some of the well-known Black pioneers that have contributed to AMERICAN HISTORY. Efforts such as these make my husband and I confident that we have selected the right school for our children. We look forward to our children thriving in a school environment that promotes diversity and inclusion, as well as high educational standards. Job well done HCA!!

I have been overwhelmingly pleased with both programs, and the amount of growth and development both boys have shown since enrolling is incredible. Without exception, I have found the teachers and administrators to be warm, attentive, and caring, and always generous with their time. Perhaps best of all, the school feels... calm. Compared to other schools we considered, the classrooms are large, the number of students per teacher seems far lower, and nothing ever feels crowded or rushed. Everything feels taken care of and relaxed. This is borne out by the attitude of my sons when I go to pick them up, as they always seem content and happy. I have looked at other programs, and at other schools, and now that my five year old has graduated into the public school system, it would be convenient to move my younger son to another facility. But I won't. Lake Manassas has always done a superlative job of looking after him, and I wouldn't risk taking him anywhere else. I would HIGHLY recommend this facility. Ms. Caitlin and her staff run a very, very good ship.

The summer school bus did not pick him up at Winwood like the schedule said it would, so Aracely, the Winwood Director, drove our son to school. While my husband was filling out docs, I walked my daughter through the school hallway to keep her busy and when I looked into the 16M+ classroom (the classroom she would be joining), I witnessed the teacher yank a little boy by his arm. She pulled him from above the elbow and his legs were not touching the ground. Not only that we heard her yell at a child in the classroom to "SIT DOWN" very aggressively before this. It was loud enough that we heard it from the sitting room in the front. The directors assistant went into the classroom to check what was going on. Needless to say, we did not enroll our daughter into this school and left shortly after. I let the director know what I had seen and we left. I later got a phone call from the director explaining what I had seen was redirection from the teacher and that she had been at "this school for 4 years" and said words like "appeared" and "perceived". There is no excuse for a teacher to yell at babies in this way. There is no excuse for someone to pull a child in the way that she did. She could have caused an injury and dislocated his shoulder. I did not get another phone call and I don't know if this incident was reported but | feel like it is my responsibility to let anyone looking into this school know what I saw. I still think about that poor child and what his parents might not know. Please do not enroll your children into this school especially if your babies cannot speak to you and let you know what kind of treatment they are getting. What I saw has affected me and we are lucky enough to be able to keep our girl at home with us and delay day care.

He had never attended daycare prior to Winwood, and in the beginning had separation anxiety when he was dropped off in the mornings. The amazing front staff knew exactly how to calm him down and get him to smile . As a parent, it's very comforting knowing that I don't have to worry about how he's doing because I know he's being taken care of. Our older son has been attending Winwood for almost a year now and loves it. We absolutely LOVE the Kindergarten Club that Winwood offers! He is reading and writing on his own more and more each day because of the Kindergarten Club and his amazing teacher. We are so happy to be apart of the Winwood family, you guys are the best!

You worry so much: are they going to soothe my child like I would? Will she be loved & well taken care of? Safe? Will they pick her up & give her attention? The list goes on & on & on. But at Winwood everything is taken care of. They answered all my questions & ones I hadn't even thought to ask. I felt completely assured & didn't have a doubt that my baby would be & is loved & incredibly well taken care of. I get a report & notifications everyday, the teachers clearly communicate with you at drop offs & pickups about ANYTHING you need to know. They encourage you to drop in to visit, call, or log in online to view their cameras anytime to give you further peace of mind, but honestly I don't need it! The teachers are so incredibly caring & attentive. I feel 200% sure that Ms. Tina, Lauren & Kyong take excellent care of my baby! Every time I come in the room to get her, she's happy & fed & changed & being well taken care of, most of the time being held & in one of the teachers' arms. When I drop her off it's evident they care. Kyong especially always breaks into a smile & immediately takes her into her arms to hold her & starts talking to her & rocking her. That's such a reassuring feeling to know they love your baby as much as you do & are happy to see her, it's not just a job to them. Throw in the fact that this school is super accommodating. My previously arranged childcare fell through & I came in needing last minute temporary care for a few weeks with virtually no notice. Winwood took care of us without a problem. Thank you Winwood, Ms. Dana, Ms. Heather, Ms. Tina, Lauren & Kyong for all that you do!

Friday you are required to pack. They are constantly changing the classroom that your child is in (also changing the teacher) which becomes very confusing, not only for the child but for the parent as well. You never know where to drop off or pick up your child because again, they are switching rooms way too much. When you pick up your child, you can never find them, you must also search each room for their coat and belongings because NO ONE has any idea where they are!! And they never bother to help find them either. The teachers do not teach a meaningful curriculum, which is not their fault but I still needed to point out. The preschool program does not start until age 4, which only gives the child a year to learn the necessities they need before kindergarten. Which I feel is not enough time at all. In the time that my child attended here, I noticed no difference in his knowledge. In fact, I noticed that his behavior continued to get worse. Maybe due to the fact that there is no consistency in this school, or maybe the fact that he continued to get into trouble for petty things. ( for example, I received a Letter home that he had a bad day for trying to kiss a friend, and because he dropped a cookie and ate it off the floor). Typical 3 year old behavior. I complained at one point because he continued to come up with poopy underwear and no one would notice and change him (even though he stunk) and no one would help him to wipe to prevent this issue. Literally THE NEXT WEEK after I complained, I was bombarded with a meeting when I walked in for pickup stating that my child's behavior has been out of control for months and was basically given no choice by the owner and director but to get my child tested for special needs. What!?!? I was confused as to why his behavior WAS NEVER mentioned before. I can not tell you how much my son has improved since LEAVING this school. He knows his ABC's, he can count to 10 in Spanish, his behavior has improved DRAMATICALLY, he even comes home singing songs that he learned. The best thing about this school was our last day and never having to come back!!!! There are a few good teachers, but the director Ms. Wally and owner Ms. Liz just make this place hell in a hand basket. NOT the jack and Jill school that it used to be when I attended as a child! UPDATE: there was never a five star review and no one ever tried to "help" my child. If you consider forcing us to get him tested for special needs because he doesn't "behave like a normal three year old" (even though his pediatrician, special needs teacher that we spoke to, and multiple friends and family members said he is completely normal and actually advanced for his age!!) and having him come home crying everyday because his teacher was "mean to him" and he got in trouble for kissing a friend or eating the cookie off the floor that he dropped, if you consider that to be "helping him", then maybe you are the one that needs to be tested! This school helped with nothing but making our lives a nightmare for the last few months. I wish I had listened to the previous employee who warned me not to send my child here. Just beware!!
