I have been overwhelmingly pleased with both programs, and the amount of growth and development both boys have shown since enrolling is incredible. Without exception, I have found the teachers and administrators to be warm, attentive, and caring, and always generous with their time. Perhaps best of all, the school feels... calm. Compared to other schools we considered, the classrooms are large, the number of students per teacher seems far lower, and nothing ever feels crowded or rushed. Everything feels taken care of and relaxed. This is borne out by the attitude of my sons when I go to pick them up, as they always seem content and happy. I have looked at other programs, and at other schools, and now that my five year old has graduated into the public school system, it would be convenient to move my younger son to another facility. But I won't. Lake Manassas has always done a superlative job of looking after him, and I wouldn't risk taking him anywhere else. I would HIGHLY recommend this facility. The summer school bus did not pick him up at Winwood like the schedule said it would, so Aracely, the Winwood Director, drove our son to school. The summer school disorganization continued with the school expecting our son to show himself to his new classroom in a school he had barely been in. Aracely personally walked our son into the school and made sure one of the teacher assistants would show him to his room. Aracely is exactly why our kids go to Winwood, with our kids safety in mind and go out of their way to help out in stressful situations.

She started out in the baby room and adjusted very quickly to her new environment. The teachers were wonderful in distracting her while I snuck out of the room. I think it was harder on me than her. Over the past 3 years, she has moved up to the 4 year old classroom and still wants to stop by the little classrooms and say hi to the teachers. The turnover rate for teachers is extremely low. Whenever there is a new teacher, they immediately come over to introduce themselves. The teachers are outstanding! The director Melissa and the assistant director Tawanna are amazing. Whenever I have had a question, they are always available to answer my questions and I do not feel rushed. Both of them know everyone's name... both children and parents. They have a structured lesson plan and lots of events throughout the day from reading, circle time, and tons of different stations. My 4 year old knows simple addition, her letters, can count in English and Spanish, knows a lot of Spanish words (and has even taught me) and also some sign language. She is even spelling simple words. She will be more than ready for kindergarten when the time comes. I became very sick last year and everyone in the center was very supportive in helping me any way I needed. I do not think I would have had this support anywhere else. While I was sick, I continued to drive her out to this daycare (over 35 minutes from home) instead of moving her closer to home (which would have been easier on me) but I did not want to take her anywhere else. Everyone is truly dedicated to the care and safety of the children. I have met many of the other children's parents and have become friends with them over the years. We are always at one of the children's birthday parties throughout the year. I absolutely would recommend this center (and have) to anyone looking for a "warm, family oriented" environment.

Then every Tuesday the children would go to a family owned miniature golf place. Wednesdays would be pool day.. spend half the day with the children at the local public outdoor pool. thursdays would be bowling day.. get to go bowling at the local bowl america. fridays would be movie and event day.. movies in the morning.. and events in the afternoon (fair, petting zoo, circus, magic show, etc.). definitely send your child there if you live in the area! sure beats those other summer camp programs!

For example, when Ms. Brittany served my child breakfast, she drew a smiley face on the pancake with syrup. The curriculum is well designed and offered by corporate, including an app for children to practice what they learn at home. The app is also excellent for routine communication regarding potty training, what has been served/eaten at mealtimes, and daily activities. It's nice to know what my child did that day so that we can talk about it! The summer months also include a range of events (we aren't field trip aged yet) like ice cream and snow cone trucks, fitness camp, magicians, zoo to you, and water play days. I love that the food is provided. It is one less thing to worry about--running out the door and only having to remember a water bottle is amazing. Each breakfast includes a main, a side of fruit, and milk. Each lunch includes a main dish, a side of fruit, a side of vegetables, and milk. Afternoon snack includes two things and typically includes a fruit, veggie, or protein source. Everything at TLE is extremely clean, the toys are in good condition, there is a variety of books, the floors are clean, and even the handprints on the front glass door are cleaned daily (sorry, some of them are my child's). The playground areas are very nice--each has a slide, but the older children's area also has scooters and bikes. Both have astroturf, which I appreciate because there are no dirt or grass stains when my child comes home. Each playground also has a shaded area with picnic tables. The events are an added bonus. They are free to families and it's nice to chat and connect with others in your child's class. I also recognize that the teachers know my child and greet her by name. They also do different things to appreciate the parents and families like monthly take home dinner nights or sometimes breakfast on the go. We definitely feel appreciated and like part of a community. We toured other locations and also enrolled at a different preschool before switching to TLE and can't imagine a better fit or trusting anyone else to do what they do.

After a couple of weeks, he is happy to see his teachers and friends. The Nanda Learning Center is great with communicating with what is needed, I.e more diapers and wipe, to communicating any situation that may have occurred during the day. The center is also has very strict COVID guidelines and managed to get our son to wear a mask the entire day. I am very happy with our son's progress and development. The staff is doing an excellent job helping him learn new things.

I'm so disheartened by the way Nanda's went down hill. We're grateful to be parting ways with Nanda's and wish the director gets what she needs to be successful, have the kids treated kindly, and build the morale of the childcare center.
