I've been to several laundromats in the city but Maplewood Wash House is one of my favorites! The entire place is spotless and very well-maintained. I was a little skeptical about using my phone to start the washing machines, but now I LOVE it! The washers and dryers worked perfectly and left my clothes feeling fresh and clean. What impressed me was the high standard of cleanliness thanks to the hardworking cleaning staff. They were constantly making rounds, wiping down machines, sweeping floors, and ensuring that everything stayed sanitary. With free Wi-Fi, ample laundry carts and washers/dryers, and reasonable pricing, it made the whole process so easy and stress-free. I get my comforter cleaned every year at the Maplewood Wash House and in the past I've been very happy with the job they do. Not this year I'm sorry to say. I picked it up today after having dropped it off yesterday. For the first time it was not folded and wrapped nicely. It was stuffed into a bag and very wrinkled. When I got home I found it was still very damp. Apparently it sat in that plastic bag wet since yesterday. For this I paid $23.00. Needless to say I won't be back. read more

As someone who lives in a 2nd floor small apartment with a crappy coin operated washer/dryer in the basement, I needed to find an alternative. I'm so so glad I found this laundromat! The facility is always clean with an attendant constantly tidying things. Yes the washers are kind of expensive, but they're high quality and do a great job at washing, plus the dryers are free! Also make sure to check the washer to see how many loads it holds before using. I feel like the 3 load washer (which is $5.75) is more like 2 loads, so we'll say you're paying $2.75 a load which isn't bad! Thinking out loud here. My absolute favorite part, they have an app where you can pay, select wash preferences, and keep track of your time! The better of the area laundromats. Clean, and overall, people seem friendly enough, staff and customers. Plenty of washers of different load sizes, and dryers. Although it is annoying when someone has one small load of laundry and puts into several different dryers, leaving those of us needing one, in busy times, scrambling. It would be nice to have a system in place if you have a bigger sized load washer, be allotted two dryers, anything smaller, just the one. I suppose doing that by designating washer # to a dryer #? Who knows, I am only thinking out loud. I have yet to try their drop off service and I am curious about that. read more

Tonight I had the worst experience I've ever had at a laundromat. The employee who was working tonight (12/30/2024), who also claims to be the manager and part owner, was incredibly rude, aggressive, and disrespectful. I had my clothes in the dryers and I was sitting in my car waiting for my clothes to be done as I usually do (and many others do as well) when he locked the doors. The time was 12:48am. The laundromat closes at 1am. I've been coming here for years and I've never had this happen. Typically, if you get in before 1am, the doors stay open until everyone is finished. There were no signs stating this change nor did this employee mention it to anyone. He actually came over to the door, saw me sitting in my car right outside the door, knew I had clothes in the dryers (I was only 1 of 2 people remaining in the laundromat), and decided to lock the doors. I knocked on the door and waited for a minute. He looked over, saw me, and decided to ignore me. After a couple of minutes, I walked around the building to the other door to see if it was open. It was. For some reason he left that one open. I was upset and asked him why he would lock the door when I had clothes still in the dryer. He said "It's closing time." I said "You guys close at 1am, it's only 12:50am." He angrily yelled "You can leave now!". I told him I would leave after I gathered my clothes since I already paid. I also said I needed the number to corporate or to the owner. He yelled "I am one of the owners!" This isn't the first time I've had an aggressive encounter with this man. Last time, he stared at me in a very uncomfortable and creepy manner. He consistently pressured me to finish by tapping his feet while staring at me and asking me when I would be done. No other employee has done this to me. Most everyone else has been extremely kind. I have only started seeing this person recently, but he claims to be a manager says he has been there for 10 years. My thing is if you don't want to work late nights, then find another job. Or switch shifts so you work in the mornings or early evenings. Don't take your frustration out on paying customers. I left very upset and unsettled due to his unnecessary aggressiveness. read more

This place is nice, clean, safe & also has an attendant on duty & enough machines to go around. Digital payment with app - BUT the prices seem crazy high! I paid $14 for a extra large wash and $10 for medium wash! (I did add extra options for additional rinse ect for 50 cents ect) Thankfully the dryers are free....But still...what happened to $1.25/wash? I was expecting maybe $3/wash. I'm on a mission to find the best laundromat in St. Louis. (Or buy a washer and dryer- whichever comes first). Tonight my friend Cheech joined me at Maplewood Wash House. First gotta point out the foliage that is fighting to survive in there. (Decor 7.5) Most of the space smells like cigarette smoke. I pulled a butt out of the washer before I put my clothes in. Cheech said she thought it was lint and if she would have known what it was she would have made me pick another dryer. (Smells 3.3) The vibe was... melancholy. After Cheech left me alone a man ran into me with his laundry cart. He then spoke about how much he hated people to the attendant who eventually gave me the face. Another woman told me I dropped a little sock and asked me how old my kid was. Redemption. (Crowd 8.0) There's a place across the street that has a drive thru for sushi and subs. Prices seem high even w free dry. I spend $20 with my own detergent for a single person's laundry for 2 weeks. 3 washers. My major complaint is the attendants are rude & unhelpful. If you are worried about Covid- heads up the attendants have their masks on their chins & even tho still StL Co mandate for everyone to wear masks indoors- mist don't, attendants say nothing & not even sign on door St L Co Health Dept requires mask. This new location is pretty nice - moved from down the street near Porter's Chicken to this old Quick Trip building - and it works quite well. It's open quite late - like 1-2am, there are huge automatic doors, which I'm sure customers are SOOOO thankful for after seeing so many struggle to carry laundry in, esp. with kids in tow, and get these doors open with their hands full at the old location. There were some TVs and vending machines for drinks and snacks. Snack variety was decent, drink variety was a bit lacking and had a B-side lineup of brands and flavors. The smallest dryer was a 2-load, and it wasn't able to hold what I'm used to at home as being a single load in my washer (maybe I've always been estimating load-size wrong...not sure). So it took one 2-load to do my towels, and one 3-load to do my darks and delicates. Unfortunately, I didn't find a single washer with a delicate setting, so I pulled some things out to hand wash at home and took a gamble with the other delicates (they seemed to come out fine so far). There were always plenty of roller baskets to move laundry around, and people shared and didn't horde them. The whole visit was quicker than I expected it to be on a Sunday early evening. So I was pleasantly surprised. One bad thing to note though: the only restroom I could find (unisex I believe) had been absolutely, disgustingly ruined by someone, and I nearly puked when I went in to grab a napkin or toilet paper to wipe the laundry detergent off my hands. I really do hope it's not normally like this. I couldn't tell if anyone was on staff - didn't run into anyone and didn't see anyone in the office - so I'm a little concerned it was in that state for hours...and like I said, it was THE ONLY restroom I could find in the whole place. read more

Staff incredibly rude. Yells at customers for folding cloths while 5 other dryers are still going preventing said customer from leaving to fold cloths. We all understand the situations and I'm not staying any longer than I have to or coming here to leave the house. I come to the laundromat because I have to. Won't be coming back. I was pleasantly surprised with the Maplewood Wash House because it's huge, reasonably priced and very clean. I read some reviews about the amount that others paint and was convinced that I'd pay $20 to wash my four comforters. I paid about $12.75 for their nine load washer and they came out beautiful, despite the fact that I didn't add enough detergent! They have several change machines or you could use their app. The cherry on the top was that the dryers are free! I love this place!!! read more

Clean is essential and this laundromat is clean with huge windows and lots of natural light. Pleasant environment. Management and the staff evidently have a sense of pride in their establishment and care for their customers. They have with everything you need: change and soap machines, tables, chairs, and plenty of electric outlets in case you need to plug in your laptop. Nice place. read more

They are the worst neighbor, EVER! The owner doesn't give a hoot about his surrounding property-trash, lint and weeds all over-not to mention the dryer vents were not installed per STL County code-(not surprising with Maplewood politics. While the county can't legally enforce and it is Maplewood's responsibility to do so, they have failed greatly at it, at the taxpayers expense!) Neighbors, as well as my own and my little doggies allergies are are high alert due to all the scented laundry detergent and fabric softeners, which I believe are poison-I mean come on-they don't eradicate odors, they only MASK them and are totally offensive to many. It's so disturbing to walk out my back door to this crap-not to mention what an "eyesore" the property is. While Quik Trip may have had much more "hustle and bustle" 24/7, they were The Best commercial neighbor around! It's about high time that the city listens to the residence around here! Usually I would talk about this place and how clean and how awesome it is but today happend to bring my sheets that i had to wash that my memory from mattress Got ruined and shredded on and there were little bits and pieces in my sheets naturally I took them out of the laundry bag some fell onto the floor.. now if I'm not mistaken as to my knowledge working here would require you cleaning up the small little stuff that collects collect on the floor.. as I finished putting the laundry in the washer I went out to smoke a cigarette as I usually do when I come here and I find that sitting from my car which is right next to the door and the XL washers I used. I see that the lady discovers the stuff on the floor which naturally you would think She should grab the broom and clean it up.. I mean there's no broom for customers to use so I guess it's her job to do it but instead she bitches to another customer about it... And I'm not sure where her job description and title is but I'm pretty sure that she has been pushing around a cart with cleaning supplies in it that she supposed to use to clean the washers and dryer's I'm sorry but your job cant be that hard to sit here and bitch about someone who accidentally makes a mess when they come to do the laundry .. my bad.. it's inevitable... I will continue to come here because of the free dryer's but I think it's bullshit the way that this person acted, luckily this place has the free dryers.. I was going for them so they'll still get my money at the end of the day. Hadn't been to a laundromat in decades but I had to find somewhere to wash a king size comforter. Yes, the largest washer costs $8.25, but it swallowed that comforter easily, with room to spare. No extra charge for dryers. The bathroom was even clean! Great place - has a helpful attendant, and numerous machines of various sizes. They are open 5am to 2am!! read more

I found this laundromat and liked it. Been here a few times, especially like the free dry. However, after going yesterday, 06/19/2019. I used 5 wash machines. My clothes smell dirty still, in fact the scent is making me nauseas. Last time I was there my clothes smelled fresh and clean after. I am embarrassed to be sitting here at work wearing a shirt that I washed yesterday and this scent is getting to me. It just smells unclean, and I do not like to wear clothes that are unclean. I am leery of laundromats in the first place, but this one seemed nice and clean, but there must be a problem with their wash machines or dryers, or the person who used them before me.
