I could have spent all day in this delightful shop and barely scratched the surface of everything they had to offer. If you like history (I do), cartography (I really do), or just beautiful works of art (I really really do), this is a stop well worth making. The staff are incredibly knowledgable, don't mind answering questions, and even noticed when my friend and I were interested in one particular area and offered to show us some other pieces not in the racks. Several maps and charts came home with us, and my wallet is significantly lighter but my soul is significantly happier. I adore this place and hope to visit again next time I find myself on the Cape. Stopped in here recently during a trip to Chatham, Ma. This is a neat little store in which you can find a unique map to hang in any room in your house. The owners are SUPER nice and very friendly. My sister bought a couple items for her cape condo and I bought a unique map and had it shipped back to Chicago. This place is really something special. The maps are well-preserved, organized in an excellent fashion, and easy to flip through. Took a chance and visited Maps of Antiquity on a rainy day and it was so worth it. I am not a map or antique connoisseur by any means, but I got sucked into all of the interesting maps, postcards, and prints they have there. Such a wide variety, and the staff was beyond helpful in pointing me in the right direction. If my boyfriend and 2 year old weren't waiting outside in the car, I could've spent the whole afternoon in there. Definitely worth the trip! read more
