My boyfriend and me love marando farms. Him in especially. He loves buying fresh eggs from the farms on a weekly bases. The staff is always super sweet when we visit. First time i discovered the farm was when we went to a pumpkin patch. Great spot to spend the afternoon with the family. They have a petting zoo in the back where you can purchase food and feed the goats, pig, tortoise and even emu. They have a cafe inside where you can order food and have some great smoothies. The spot also offers a lot of organic food, house supplies and beauty products you can buy as well as packaged goods like sauces and pickled food. Marando farms also sell plants and fresh fruits and vegetables. You can definitely leave with a couple bags of goodies here. read more

Such a sweet little farm experience. I visited with my 1-year-old daughter and we had such a lovely afternoon exploring the market aisles, meeting the animals, and enjoying the peaceful atmosphere. We picked up some homemade jam, fresh sourdough, and an absolutely delicious mango salsa made from produce grown right on the farm. They gave us lettuce to feed the animals, which was definitely a highlight: the goats, sheep, pigs, chickens, and other animals were so friendly and excited for snacks. Lol Where animals are the main attraction and they know it! Specially this one pig that pretty much lays there drunk on lettuce. The miniature horses love eating and super friendly. You can purchase lettuce to feed them for $5. There is one goat and one menacing looking but actually friendly Ostrich. All the animals are characters. The Farm has a great produce section and to my surprise there is a cafe where you can purchase smoothies, fresh juices and coffee. Big farm with an organized and well kept market. Marando Farms has it all. Your one stop shop hidden gem for all things. Fresh produce to a variety of frozen meats, to fresh eggs and Jarred honey to condiments and souvenirs. They also have a cute nursery with a large selection of plant species of fruit trees to herbs and succulents. They're clean and organized size and staff was very helpful and cordial. Small little cafe that serves small bites with coffee and smoothies. Love the ranch out back with an amazing petting zoo which for $5 you can feed all animals lettuce that's provided. Get up close and personal with goats and sheep's and pot belly pigs and horses and even an ostrich. Very disappointed how they are treating the animals. Dirty water for some animals and no water for the horses or tortoises. The large tortoise had a pile of rotting vegetables in its pen. The animals are out in the hot sun with no shade. It's cruel and inhumane. No creature should be treated this poorly. read more

This was a cool experience to see a all natural farm store with a petting zoo. My mom and I tried their smoothies and they tasted natural. We asked for more honey and dates in the smoothies and it tasted better. We asked if there were any sandwiches or chicken tenders and the associate told me that you can only buy it on the weekends. They have a petting zoo but you will have to pay $5 to enter to see the animals. The gentleman that works outside was kind of rude to my mom and I. We asked to see the animals and not to feed them and he said that we will need to pay $5 to see them. Overall, this is place is really nice. The parking is free and close to the place. read more

Its been years since I've been at this place which used to be the old Battens Farms where you pick fresh strawberries to make your own shakes. A fully operating farm with a plant nursery, organic market, petting zoo, boutique, hay rides, Zen Bar juice shop, bakery and even a made to order sandwich shop. On the weekends, the petting zoo is only $5.00 for a chance to walk around the goats, chickens and ducks. We took a stroll through the outer perimeter of the stable where my wife got the rare opportunity to feed lettuce to an eager emu. This ranch was an adult playground with a petting zoo where I fed an Emu, yes an Emu, and captured it on video. I was impressed by the rare organic foods in the market. The Dirty Habit jars of lime and infused organic cane sugar was very interesting concept where you just add any spirit and drink away - but it was $25 a jar and way over my two drink budget. read more

3.5 stars. We went to Marando Farms for the petting zoo. Parking was plentiful and you first walk into a small store, restaurant, and deli. We purchased petting zoo tickets at the register. The store was your typical farmers market with fresh produce, honey, etc. There's also a juice and smoothie bar. They also have u-pick eggs, pony rides, equestrian trails, and fishing. I gave it 3.5 stars because when we went, the petting zoo was small. There was no shade so most of the animals were resting. The sun and humidity was no joke that day, we could only stay out there for 20 minutes. This worked out anyway since we saw most the the animals in the small petting zoo area. I'm not sure if they closed the other areas, if any. We saw a horse, goats, and an emu. I recommend going on a cloudy day or even in the winter. read more

What a beautiful little farm! We decided to go as an interactive lesson for my homeschooled son learning about farm animals. It was such a treat to walk into fresh produce, readily available protein and the best green juice I've ever had. Surprisingly , there were a lot of people enjoying the food. The petting area is a bit small if it's not the weekend to ride horses but it gets the job done. Educationally , it's wonderful to be able to get up close to these animals and teach your little one about them. They also have plants fruit trees and herbs although I think the intense sun lately has been drying them out too well so they weren't in the best shape. Just a few animals but I don't think they are in great condition (the capibara was in the dirtiest enclosure with a dry fallen Christmas tree . They charge $5 per person to feed them lettuce. I just really hope they do additional things for each of them. They are in a very small space and walk very slow. Very used to be petted by people. Parking was a little bit of a task but the employees were super helpful and after e a few minutes I was able to snag up a spot from someone that was leaving. We browsed the market and took note to come back for some local eggs when we run out of our store bought eggs. We will also be back to try out the açaí bowl spot which looked great. Visited this farm with my two toddlers on a Friday afternoon. We went to the petting zoo portion and were given a some lettuce. They had goats, turtles, ponies, Patagonia mara, chickens, bunnies and a Lamb. The market was very big and had many nice items both homemade and things you can find at a store also they had the smoothie counter which was delicious. We ordered two smoothies and they were fresh and so filling. On the weekend they offer more activities such as hay ride and pony ride and have hot foods. I would return again. Located off Davie road between Griffin and Stirling, this "farmer's market" and ranch is a little sparse on items from the farm but has many other things to fill in. There is a small section in the front with some fruits and vegetables. Then there are several aisles of unique items which seem to be more homemade and/or healthier than similar traditional items at the grocery store. Pricing is on par with specialty stores. They have a whole aisle of Marando Farms made dressings and sauces average around $6.99/bottle. They have a small fresh fish section that appears to be run by someone else. There is a variety of raw honey, u pick eggs, and raw dairy items. If you're looking to eat there, you can order food like sandwiches, juices, and smoothies. I believe there is a petting zoo in the back but we didn't make it there this time. It's a pretty calm shopping experience but also a hot one as it's open air and no ac/fans to move the air around the area. read more

First time visting your farm, yesterday. I felt extrememely unwelcome there. I asked a girl working at the sandwhich station about where the fresh meat, eggs, butter milk came from. She seemed as if she did not want to help me , ( acting unprofessional as if she was on her personal time deciding to treat me as she sees fit in a disrespectful manner) and was sarcastically saying she does not know and said to talk to the girl at the register who would know. If she is angry maybe she doesnt like her job nor likes to deal with customers (find a new job where you can deal with people you like and would not have to ignore the customer ). She did say that any jar with the Marando name was bottled locally. But she did not explain if the products bearing the Marando name i.e. jams , jelies, nuts etc if you guys produced those or a third party produced those for you. I did not care for her attitude. She doesn't know what you are selling and would just give me a generic answer instead of specific facts. Talking nonsense foolish talk. This was around 4 or 5 pm in the day on Saturday May 16th. She doesnt seem to care about assisting the customer and doesn't know where the products come from, she is just there for a show. I did not get her name but I am sure you can pinpoint her. You should know your products you are selling and educate the consumer as well. Needless to say it was a waste of time and I did not purchase anything.( I would like to know what I am buying) I guess people here blindly purchase items without asking questions and don't care of the quality nor where its from. The young Latina lady at the register seemed stand offish too and was not as receptive nor specifically explanatory of where your products are coming from. Almost mocking the intelligence of the customer, I guess she doesnt want my business. ( I am seeking knowledge of your products and your workers who have little to no knowledge of the products... seem to be laughing, how unprofessional, rude and immature) Retrain or get better employees, and never treat the customers in this manner. We love coming here to get Garden Diva Hummus, a local owned hummus in Miami. We were looking for the garlic flavor and unfortunately they didn't have it, but we did get the roasted tomato and hot pepper one. This place is one of my favorite places to visit. It is family friendly and great for people of all ages. There is a farmers market, a pet shop, The Twisted Tomato Cafe, Zen Bar, and Petting Zoo. There are events such as on Sundays there is live music. Sometimes there will be booths for local small businesses. The petting zoo/ horse riding has really evolved over the years. There is a "full experience" that includes all of activities for $12. The admission is $5 for the petting zoo which includes veggies to feed the animals. There are horses, pigs, turkeys, goats, sheep, chicken, and a tortoise. The goats are adorable. They will follow you, nudge you, and climb on the rocks to to get fed. I went around noon and it was pretty hot. Half of the animals were cooling off in the shade. It's best to come earlier in the morning so it's not so hot and the animals are more active. Bring quarters! There is feed in the bathroom hallway leading to the farm area. We were able to pet and feed the horses that were providing horse rides. A kind regular costumer gave us an extra bag of apples and carrots she had prepared for her children to feed the horses. The Twisted Tomato Cafe does not have it's own Yelp page that I am aware of. The seating is in the front area when you walk into the main entrance. You have a seat at any of the tables and someone comes to take your order. Falafel Gyro - This was pretty good for the price. I enjoyed the falafel's. The gyro's were large and I had to break it up and eat it separately. read more

Marando Farms is in a great location and has good products. Their prices are high and I believe that prevents the place from having the crowds that this location used to have before. I bought some of their eggs and my stomach curled after the first bite. As a child I remember going to the local chicken farm in rural Massachusetts. I know fresh farm eggs. For me, the chickens were fed something awful or the eggs were old. The corn that I purchased tasted like cow corn. In other words, it was not sweet. The organic cranberry juice was excellent. That came in a glass bottle. The tomatoes were fresh however I have to agree with other Yelpers, they are over priced. So how did I arrive at for stars? One for the kindness of the staff, one for great selection, one for how attractive the facility is and one for being open on Memorial Day in the rain. read more
