He keyed in whatever he keyed in on the credit card pad that was behind the counter, I handed him my card without asking the total and I left. The pop tased off. Not sure if it was expired or what, but it didn't taste good. The Tylenol was fine. Then I told someone I was with where I stopped and they instantly told me to check my bank account. $64.99 For 24 cans of pop and 8 Tylenol pills. I was stunned. Reading the reviews, it doesn't seem like it would be worth my time to try and get a refund or anything. But I'm absolutely amazed this place is still in business. They're taking advantage of people that aren't used to an establishment charging whatever they want without disclosing the prices. NEVER EVER GO TO THIS GAS STATION!!! I went to a Marathon gas station in Rolling Meadows, IL and I want to complain about the terrible service. I wanted to purchase a product that costs $3 in the other two Marathons in the same town. There were no price tags on anything in the store. I went to pay and they did not tell me the price, instead they only asked for my card, not cash. After they charged my card, I was not given a receipt and they told the juice I paid for was $8! I felt like I was robbed. They should have told me the price before taking my card and they should have given me a receipt so I can dispute the $9.50 charge on my card. The store owner lied to me after ripping me off. I am really upset about this terrible service. The other Marathons in my hometown are okay. read more

This business looks vacant most of the time. They have a car wash entrance that's falling apart and left standing. The owner of this business is very rude to customers. The owner of the business stated that he does not care or need my business. Because their credit card machines don't work at the pump. The pump side to see the attendant, and when I went inside, the owner told me to f@&k off and learn how to use the machine. They recently lost their liquor license yet still have signs displayed on all the windows that they offer alcohol. I live in the neighborhood and I've been going to the station for many years, but I will never go there again, I will also suggest to everyone I know to never go there. I would rather drive a half a mile, where the gas is much cheaper, and the customer service is much better. read more

I will never go back to this place again. The staff is rude and seem to be aggressive for no reason. I had to transfer money from accounts and it takes a minute or so for it to go thru so I wanted to let the person behind me go ahead. I told the cashier to give me a moment and to take the other guy. The cashier says that he can't take him as he scans my soda and says it's because he already scanned the soda. So what? Are you telling me if I decided not to buy the pop and left that the cashier wouldn't be able to cancel it and would have to pay for it himself since it's been scanned?? Not only that but they charge 4.99 for a .99c RC and cut the 99c logo off. The only reason why I didn't laugh in there and walk out is because NOTHING else is open around here after 9pm! read more

I was appalled at what I saw take place on 5-23-24 at Rolling Meadows Marathon. An elder woman asked for 2 packs of cigarettes the cashier said cash or credit she said credit and he rang her up for 52$ she said no way I can't afford that and the cashier said we give no refunds and pointed to a sign hanging on the counter and then loudly said now please leave. Raised his voice please leave. I said calm down buddy. She said is there a manager he called someone on the phone on speaker and was saying no refunds nope get out of store now and cursing her out saying never come back. I left on my own after this encounter. I never even saw her receipt or him hand her anything. The owner on the phone was just cursing over and over I can't believe what I saw. This could have been your mom or grandma. Never going there ever again if they stay in business it's because they are overcharging like I've never seen but treating people who've lived in this community for decades should treat customers better. She was so nice I think she started crying. I've probably seen 10 different owners buy and leave that place but in my 58 years of life I've never seen people treated so horribly and the owner seems to entice it. I stopped at the gas station to purchase a pack of cigarettes. I was not asked if I would like a receipt and was in a hurry as I had to get to work, later that evening I was looking at my bank account and noticed that I was charged $30.99 , for a pack of cigarettes. The next morning, I stopped in again to inquire about the charge of $30.99 for one pack of cigarettes. I was basically told that the owner sets the prices and that there is a fee for using a debit card. There is no signage that says there's a fee for using a debit card. I was supposed to receive a call back from the owner, that never happened . I went back this morning to ask what the status of my complaint was and I was told again the owner said he could charge whatever he wants. I asked for a number to call and complain. There's a number posted on the outside of the door. I called the number and it is a nonworking number. I went to a Shell station two blocks down the road and was charged 17.99 for a pack of cigarettes. Do not I repeat do not go to the marathon station on Kirchoff and Hicks. They are price gouger. They are rude, inconsiderate and lack customer service skills. When I asked for a number where I could call I was told the number is on the door, it is a non working number.I wasn't given another number to call. Always ask for a receipt. This is how people rip you off and I will be contacting channel 7 news. It's not about per se the extra money I was charged. I am uncertain if you can give negative stars but this location certainly warrants it. I would prefer giving good reviews to negative ones, BUT, people need to know. If and only IF you have to stop here, don't! Avoid this location at all costs. In reading other reviews, they seem to have a recurring theme "OVER CHARGING". I was desperate and needed window washer solvent and could barely see out the windshield. I had exited from 53 and they were the first available location. The attendant charged me $15.00 for a 1 gallon container of washer solvent. I quoted him what the price should be because I'm in the automotive industry. I told him he was completely out of line but I needed the solvent to see my way home. He actually made a joke of it and laughed at me. The following day I called area stations for pricing and they were all between $3.99 and $4.99 for the same product. I drove back to Marathon and stated my frustration and asked for a manager/owner, anyone who could help me. The attendant blew me off repeatedly and didn't want to listen to anything I had to say. He was very demeaning. He gave me a phone number to call which no one answered. I stayed in my car, processing what had just happened. I decided to call Rolling Meadows police to inquire if I had any recourse. I spoke to Officer Bob W. who was kind and patient, listening to me which allowed me time to calm down. In the interim, the rude attendant must have called the manager because he pulled in and waved me to the entrance. I recognized the truck and the person as he was there yesterday when I made the purchase. He was at the ATM inside which made me think he was a customer. I followed him in, he identified himself as the manager, and after a brief conversation, he returned my money. Well, the balance subtracting a more reasonable price for the solvent. Came here to pump gas that was fine. I went inside to buy a snickers but no one was inside working. Waited for like 5 minutes and then left. Worker night have been in the bathroom but it was hard to tell, i couldnt find the bathroom and didn't want to wait any longer. Maybe leaving a note for customers would be nice? This gas station will rip you off. In late May, I was charged for $62 worth of gas. At the time gas prices were $2.799. My car only has a 15 gallon tank yet they charged me for over 20 gallons of gas. Then they printed off a receipt for me from eight hours before I was there. The next day when I was disputing it with Chase they claimed they only had, on file, the last three fill ups from each pump. It's also worth noting that when I filled up, three of their pumps were "broken." So in short: - Their pumps don't work. - Their card readers don't work. - They will happily steal your money and then fight to keep it. They are thieves and no law abiding citizen should fill up there. read more
