Five stars go out the US postoffice, and 5 extra stars to the nice guy that helped us. Wow, he…read moreknows wat service is all about. The US Postoffice should cherish this kind of employees. They make your business. We're on a roadtrip for 3 and somewhat weeks, visiting from The Netherlands. And of course, again, I bought too much Christmas ornaments. - Little note, on every trip I try to buy some local ornaments so when Christmas arrives I can look at a tree full of memories. - This time a Departement 56 Harley Davidsons motel. And that are not things to get in our already overweight luggage easily. So we considered sending it home. We first made inquiries at FedEx in Nashville because we walked by. Estimated costs: over $200. For that price I a can buy an extra suitcase and pay for extra luggage. So we looked further. In Gatlinburg we visited this post office learning that our package can be send to Europe for a little over $50, including our map and two travelguides we didn't need anymore. Huge difference. But that's not the only reason for the 5 star rating. The guy behind the counter is. He took all the time in the world helping us to fill in the forms, get the stuff boxed, and giving advice about some choices to made. In the mean time he helped several other local customers with quick questions without giving us the feeling he wasn't totally there for us. And in the post office hangs a painting depicting him and a little boy. Make sure to ask him about it. It has to do with 9/11 and I had trouble keeping my eyes dry. And no worries, he wasn't pushy, I asked him about the painting and that made him tell the story. And excuse any grammar and spelling mistakes. English is not my first language. And if that isn't bad enough, my Apple device keeps changing words into 'proper Dutch'. Yes, you've guessed right, my first language.

I can't say much about this particular post office because I only dashed inside quickly to mail…read morethree postcards. The drop boxes in the lobby were clearly marked for metered mail, stamped, packages etc. The building was clean on the outside and there was no litter in the lobby. My postcards went to Vermont, Illinois, and Montana (so nowhere close). They each arrived in a decent amount of time. A little slow, but that's to be expected these days.

I'm very fed up with every deliverer being usps, ups, and fedex. Nobody will follow my delivery…read moreinstructions so what is the point of giving y'all delivery instructions? This is about the fifth time or more that I have tried to get a hold of somebody that I could actually talk to and see what the heck the issue is. My packages are being left out in the rain on a step going to my front porch which is covered. The step is not! I don't know what is going on or maybe you guys are being bombarded with having to deliver packages from other deliver company but I don't care! Stop being lazy and take a few steps and there's my front door! The driver sat in my driveway for about a good 3 minutes doing something but I have it on video and I just received a seven packages left on my steps. It's raining now and was in my packages got wet. I don't know what else to do. I believe my postal lady that normally delivers around my area isn't the one delivering at the moment because she has always put the packages where they belong but something has changed and something needs to be done because I'm fed up!
