This is a rustic and quaint RV park. No paved sites, all gravel. The park is surrounded by a beautiful oak forest. The proximity to the Columbia State Park is excellent. Easily walkable and a fun little hike through the woods. The check in process was smooth and the staff were so friendly! The bathrooms need a serious update and be sure to bring a surge protector for hook ups. We experienced several surges, no fault of the park, but be aware. We would definitely return. read more

I've been visiting Marble Quarry for a long time. The building is in excellent condition, with updated shower-equipped bathrooms. For the sweltering summer days, there is a pool and a playground with games. Colombia State Park, which has a wealth of historical attractions to view, is just a short stroll away. At first glance, looks like a pretty place to RV/camp. Well, forget about camping. We were probably the last group to use the overflow for camping. They're building an ice rink and, like many former camping sites, no longer welcome campers/tents. There's more $$ to be made welcoming RVers. I'm sure the amenities described by others make this a nice place to stay. However, be aware that this facility puts NO MONEY into its restrooms. Only one shower out of three worked and it was barely more than a trickle. The showers/bathrooms haven't been cleaned in YEARS. Digusting and filthy, like others have pointed out. I could find only one other place for camping in the area: Columbia Airport Campground. However, they don't accommodate groups. read more

Shhhhhh! Don't tell anyone. It's so quiet...you can hear yourself think! Right next to the Wild West Town of Columbia, California. An entire town that was turned into a State Park. Two bars, restaurants, two magnificent Hotels with a Stage Coach and a Theater. On the weekends most shops are open selling homemade candies, beer, Sarsaparilla and a Blacksmith shop. You can pan for Gold, pick blackberries and Grapes, figs and Walnuts. In the 1870's it was a working, mining town. ( someone told me you can find Rubies and Emeralds in the nearby lakes!) read more

Nice to have a FHU site but $68/night seems steep since the free wifi and bathrooms/showers advertised are not available and the sites have random trash in them. All 3 shower stalls are out of order in both the mens and womens restrooms- my advice do not book here if needing a shower or wifi for work (or any reason). We saw hopeful reviews about new management but the bathrooms are still unusable and the wifi works 10% of the time at best unless you go into the main office area where residents and front desk workers will talk of wanting to "shoot the neighbors f****** dogs and f***ing that n***a up). Will not return to a business using racial slurs in their office. read more

I had to update my review. I am actually excited to see what this place becomes because it is recently under new ownership. We are already seeing changes and I know they will continue to improve it. It seems there is a newer lease on life there. The proximity to the town is still a top feature. They have a trail you can walk and I do hope they improve the trail a bit, making it easier to pass for smaller kiddos and older folks. Improved areas: The pool area has been improved! There are new nice lounge chairs, the pool is crystal clear. The game area at the front of the park now has frisbee golf and shuffle board. They even put a huge bucket of things to use out there like the disks and such. The playground was cleaned up and while older, no longer looked neglected. Restrooms: this has been a sore point for this park. I will say they are still in desperate need of repair, however, they are cleaner than before. I am sure they are on the list. I am sure because people coming to an RV park have their own restrooms and therefore they were not first on the list. I still would prefer this park over others in the area for their nice sized spots, their proximity to town, the pretty surroundings, and still they are an overall value. read more

Have been coming here for years, but last time I went (mid July) it was a lot worse than it used to be. The women's showers were absolutely filthy; mold and hair and God knows what else basically caked the stalls and when I asked the woman at the front desk how often they got cleaned she replied with "Every morning." I ended up washing my hair in my trailer's sink because I couldn't bare to actually use the showers. It hurts to say since this place holds a lot of great memories for me but I doubt I'll be going to this RV park anymore due to this and the general rundown feeling of the entire place. read more

Camping here for two nights. Pretty nice park. Plenty of places to walk around, and things to do. I stayed in site 63. The spot was fairly level, and there was only trees behind the site. There are walking trails to Columbia State Park, and to the Marble Quarry. There are lots of trees here, and this place is a good mix of campground and RV park. The grounds and bathrooms are clean, and the staff friendly. I would give 5 stars if the sites were bigger. read more

Worst customer service. Called last month to make a reservation as their website doesn't allow you to pick your own sites. We were going with friends and wanted our sites to be next to each other. The lady was clearly in a hurry when booking the reservation. She didn't even want to take the time to get a deposit. Fast forward to last weekend. Our friends arrived at 6:00pm. No one was in the office and couldn't find a camp host. No reservations were under our name. I called several times - left messages, sent an email and a message on Facebook. Turns out the woman booked our reservation for 10/17-19 instead of 11/7-19. I don't even see how it's possible as the reservation was made on 10/19! So she booked us for a past date. How? I had to figure this out all on my own from the confusing confirmation email we were sent. I never received a call back or a response to my Facebook message. Email I sent came back "undeliverable". Don't waste your time with this place...go to the 49er RV park instead. It's about 5 minutes away, the camp host is super nice and was willing to squeeze us in last minute. read more

This is a great RV Park a real gem. There is a short trail through amazing rock formations to the State Park town of Columbia with it's food and drink options. The Park looks really well cared for, no messy camp site's and the staff are lovely. The site's are all full hook up so we don't need their restrooms but because people had been so negative about them we decided to take a look. The toilets and sinks were scrupulously clean and there was only one shower working while the other two are scheduled for updating by the management (ladies side). The kiddie play area is very nice and the pool is great. There is a big lawn play area with games ready to play. We plan to come back soon to use their new skating rink that opens next week! read more

We have stayed here several times. It's a nice little park, close to several things and a very nice staff. The negative...they have let to many move in and stay. They have all the good spots that we use to request. They put all the campers in one small area near a hill. We've been there during the rain. All the water comes down and puts red mud in your campsite. Every RV park has rules, which we follow. Unfortunately, the residents don't follow the rules us campers have to follow. For example, 2 kids race through the park and out of the park or into the park with their dirt bikes, which are not allowed by guests. They don't obey the speed limit that us guests have to obey. Their camp host dog is not on a leash. He roams the park. It can be pretty intimidating to have a dog approach your dog that is on a leash. You don't know if it wondered away or came from somewhere else. Pool rules, no kids under the age of 14. We watched 2 resident kids under the age of 10 swim by themselves. They raised their prices quite a bit. I guess we are helping pay for utilities for the permanent residents. We also listened to some guy fixing his van and kept revving his motor for 20 minutes. I understand they make more money off of residents living there, but it's sad what this nice, little park has become. We won't be back. read more

I try very hard when penning a review to make sure that I am assessing the intention of the business. What does that mean? I am not going to write a review on Jack in the Box and compare it to a dinning experience at a Ruth Chris (I am using generic terms here). So I knew going into this that this park was not a 5 star RV resort. So, why the Meh response? The staff is friendly enough. There is little to no security. Anyone can drive in and out, I was told specifically that the hangers that are provided to you to let the park know you are a guest there are not checked. (I had left mine at the counter upon check in and went back to retrieve it). The wifi is terribly slow and spotty at best as it relates to a connection. This becomes problematic if you need to keep into contact with people (the cell phone service in the area can be allusive). The place is littered with meat eating wasps. They try to control it by putting out the wasp traps, but I still had a heck of a time sitting outside with any sort of food or drink. This however did NOT affect my rating as it is something hard to control and after all I am camping. Don't expect to watch TV here. The stations are limited and the reception can be fuzzy. If we are anticipating on a casual walk to the Columbia state park on the advertised walking path, you are mostly correct. If you have a disability (bad knees) or especially if you are wheel chair bound, consider driving to the park as this is not a paved path, more along the lines as a very casual hike (meaning the walk path is uneven) not so much that there is elevation gain. The area is indeed in a wooded area. The ground that you will be walking on is gravel, so don't expect to be going barefoot anywhere. On the plus, it did have a pool albeit fairly small. read more

I guess I'm not really qualified to judge an RV park since this was my first time ever going to one. In my opinion, they pack the RV's in very tightly together - you may as well be in a parking lot. The pool was pretty cloudy and small. By the end of the weekend the public toilets smelled very open-sewer-y. They don't sell sanitary napkins in the general store. read more

This review is based on tent camping My big knock on this place is for the tent camping. The spots are very tiny and you are very very close to your neighbor. Too close actually. The other thing they did is to book the tent camping spots from the back to the front so everyone is together. The tent spots were only half full the weekend we were there so everybody was jammed to the back and the front spots were empty. If they would of staggered people with a spot open in the middle (of course this will work if they are not full) that would of made a huge different. The tent spots are also just below the cabins so you get the light from their front porch lights and the doors opening and closing. The bathroom showers are a bit of a mess but that's typical of what we have seen at other spots. 3 showers for the men's room. They also run out of paper towels pretty quickly so remember to always bring a towel even if not showering. As far as service goes, they were super nice and attentive to everything we needed. read more

We came here this past weekend for 4 days with our trailer and friends for my guys birthday. We had a great time. Very family friendly. We had the best full hook site too, not going to say which one, but we didn't have hardly anyone around us. :-) Columbia is a nice little hike from the park too. Love this town and area. Only thing is its a sleepy town after 5pm. Really looks like a ghost town. I checked out the tent camp area, nothing special at all, I wouldn't recommend tents. The cabins look cute too and fairly new, which is right above the tent sites. There is store, which they close at 5pm during the week and fri/sat at 7pm, also there is a pool and bathrooms with showers too. We found a site that all kinds of wood to use for camp fire too. Price was good, about $43 a night with Good Sam discount. Verizon doesn't work very good either either, text does. Not sure which carriers work, I read metro pcs doesn't either. Maybe at&t. Oh, my friend has Sprint and her cell worked. Also, wifi is spotty too depending on where you were at in the park on how close you were to the store. The nights and early mornings where 2 bars and some connection. There is a mini mart about 5 min drive w/ gas station that stays opened to 9:30pm, if you need ice or any other little things, when the general store in dt Columbia is closed. We talked to some locals about gold panning, and if you drive down Italian Bar rd, You will hit the lower fork Stanislaus river and its opened to public up to the 5 mile marker. Not a lot of gold there, but it depends on how far you dig. You can fish, swim, pan, camp etc..free! It turns to dirt road and somewhat washboard too. We will be back and explore more very soon. So much to do in this area. read more

Site we were in was #42. It is a great site as it is large and roomie. Arrived at the front desk on Friday afternoon and was treated well. The store is stocked well and the bathrooms were clean. We walked up to the marble quarry wall and enjoyed the view. It is a shame that idiots feel the need to spray graffiti on the wall. We also walked to the state park and be sure to wear good shoes as it is a little rocky. the town was cool. Stop in and get a sarsaparilla at the bar. Back to the RV park. It was very quiet and clean. Because of the Rim Fire, there was a lot of smoke in the mornings and no campfires were aloud. Also, there were a lot of "meat bees" but only when eating. My suggestion would be a Net Tent for the eating area. All in all, we really had a great time and will return soon. read more

The reviews for this rv park are all deceptive. Claiming to take our rv club for 50% off, they no longer do which is still on their website. The "clean bathrooms and showers" could not have been farther from the truth. The showers were absolutely filthy and disgusting , felt more dirty after taking one . There were 3, one had a 3 inch layer of black disgusting gunk and instead of fixing they just put an out of order cone in front of it. The second shower was actually nailed shut which left one very dirty, moldy shower. Absolutely disgusting . The men's bathrooms were exactly the same with only one being opened. The photos of the "store" are so misleading, the cooler was broken so no soda or anything else. Grounds are beautiful but that's it. read more

Perfect place to pitch a tent! And you can walk right into Columbia State Park and Marble Quarry! We camped here for two nights and I came with a group of kids. The staff was incredible! They even offered us a big bbq to borrow! A group of 50 kids can be overwhelming, so Marble Quarry gets 5 stars in my book! Nice, shady camp sites. Grassy area for kids to run around. Tether ball, playground, pool, and a camp store. Clean showers with warm water. What more can you want? read more

We spent 4 nights here in April 2017. The owner, Terry, was great. It was raining pretty hard when we got there and he helped us get situated. He even moved us to a more kid friendly spot and gave us free fire wood. Our older kids really enjoyed exploring the quarry that is actually located in the park. We also really enjoyed the trail that connects the park to Columbia State Park. Will definitely visit again. read more

We reserved a tent site for one night only. The site itself was ok, but the amenities that you get for the price were minimal, at best. The Wi-Fi was pretty much non-existent, so if you need that then forget about it. They said it works fine in the office so you are expected to go there if you need to use it. Not convenient at all. The tent sites are primitive, only a spigot for water and a "grill", a rusty artifact that I wasnt going to chance cooking on, and no electric, which I expected anyway. The real offense I found was in the showers. It was the stuff nightmares are made of. Outdated is one thing, but it appears that they hadn't been cleaned in years, it was don't lit, musty smelling, and the stall doors didn't lock or close completely. I felt dirtier after taking a shower than I did before. The campground overall was tidy, in a quiet and pretty location but I wouldn't recommend this place unless you are going in an RV with its own shower. The lady at the desk was friendly, answering questions when we called and checked us in quickly when we arrived. They were generous with check out as we were a little slow and they didn't harass or charge us per their late check out policy. BUT $28/night not worth the trauma of those showers. They will haunt my dreams forever. read more

Marble Quarry has changed for the worse. It use to be clean and maintained. The women's restroom has a damaged celling above the 2 showers, 2 toilets that do not work, (1 has a door screwed shut), a broken sink all with out of order signs. The toilets are dirty and stained. I have not seen any cleaning since my last stay 3 weeks ago, showers, floors, sinks, toilets are never cleaned. No night security anymore. Not all outdoor lights in the park have bulbs. Cabins have been removed. Park has gone down hill, I can no longer recommend it. The front lawn area looks nice. The office looks nice. The little store in the office does not carry everything like it use too. My tent on both stays got infested with little white bugs. A loose dog, brown Shepard mix, I believe is owned by park owners, is always loose and continues to pee on the corner of my tent! I called and told them with no compensation or retribution. read more

Having made reservations without seeing this place in person, and only going by the website and a few reviews, we thought we would give it a try. Someone smokes inside the back door by the laundry mat and it fills the entire office with stinky cigarette smoke ! YUK!! I am sorry that I did. We arrived on a Tuesday at 2:00, checked in and was pointed to our spot. It was a "back in" space right against Yankee Hill rd. What a noisy road! After getting settled in to our very tight spot, we tried to get the TV stations to work, after several attempts, I finally called the office. They sent someone down to a box at the end of the driveway, he said they forgot to turn on the booster. (What is a booster). After it was turned on, we showed that we should be getting 7 TV stations. But out of the 7, 4 were restricted. Of the 3 other stations that worked, only one was view-able, the other 2 were so fuzzy you couldn't make out what was on. So we were basically stuck with the Discovery channel for 5 days. The kid that works there drives the noisiest darn diesel truck and he drives around the place very fast. It is VERY VERY ANNOYING! I sort of complained by asking who the kid was, the lady said it was her son, the manager. REALLY?? He's the manager and drives like that and interrupts the entire place with that noisy truck?? The next issue is the WiFi. They advertise free WiFi, what a joke ! First off, it is so weak that nothing will load, and when it does, it is SO SLOW !! The next issue is that they have filters on the WiFi so you cannot use certain sites. I like to listen to the radio at night, but with the filters set to "Radio" you cannot get any radio stations at all, this includes IHeartradio, Pandora radio, RDIO, and many more. When more people showed up, and they were all trying to use the WiFi too and it basically stopped working. We went 3 days with NO WiFi!! We had to drive into Sonora to use our Data service to log onto the internet. *We need internet to find places to eat and things to do) The trash dumpster was so full and overflowing that animals got in to it and made a big mess. Friday when many others finally came in, it was so packed and so noisy too. This is not the place to come if you want to relax. I almost forgot, they have a leash law for dogs. However, they let their own dog roam free about the campground, and the visitors also let their dogs roam free. There must have been 20 dogs running wild. What good does it do to have a leash law if you are not going to enforce it, and why does their dog get to run free? The swimming pool was empty. I was so wanting to go swimming. I was told it was drained for repairs. Well it looks like it has been empty for quite some time. I was totally bummed. On my last day, I had to use their restroom, WHAT A GROSS SMELLY restroom!!! It smells as if the sewer is backing up inside the place! GROSS! When it was finally time to leave, the place is so small and packed with trailers, that I could not get out of my space. Luckily one of the neighbors came over and helped to guide me when I had to make a 7 zig-zag turns to finally get out. Over all, I am SO DISAPPOINTED! I would give it zero stars if I could. Sorry Marble Quarry, I do not think I will be coming back. read more

Small mom & pop park near a Marble Quarry (pronounce it like the SNL skit Marble Column with New Jersey accent). The park had a local store, small pool, trails, play area for kids, and volleyball net. Just a short bike ride away from the historic town of Columbia and the State Park. Near our camp site, was a trail and we hiked a short distance up the hill to see the MARBLE (SNL voice) Quarry. Nature is quiet and private, and the MARBLE boulders are nestled among pine trees. Full hook-up was sooooo cool! Why? Because although it was lovely and warm during the day, it was FURRReeezing during the night. Heat was nice! So was the IPOD with surround sound and sausage & eggs cooked indoors at 6 in the morning. Let those campers rough it outside if they want. Not for me. There are fire pits available for $10 per day, if you don't want to lug one around, and a bundle of wood for $6. There are people here that are trailer park groupies (you know like regulars). They congregate in the ice-cream social area and they stare you down. I could have heard a pin drop. Then the ice-cream scooper dude asked what kind? [theme song from the Good, the Bad, and the Ugly plays in the distance]. My eyes wander rapidly from Vanilla to Strawberry to Chocolate, and then back. I wipe the sweat from my brow, and declare Strawberry as my choice. So what that I'm lactose-intolerant? $1 for ice-cream is stupid-crazy! As we walk off into the sunset towards our trailer (and where the newcomers park), I challenge their stares. I say with a stern look, Yeah? And then I stand up straight, and lickety quickly lick up the strawberry ice-cream that oozed over the cone. Hmmmm. The next day we rode our bikes into the town and looked at all the buildings with exhibits. There was a guy on the street who looked like Hank Williams who also sang suprisingly, like....Hank Williams. He had this guitar and harmonica combo gig going on, and he had a great voice. Sitting on a bench next to the hitching post and wood planked sidewalks made the experience even more time-period appropriate. We also stopped by an old bar with old-fasioned bowling pins and balls, which you are welcomed to use. So we did. The beer barrels at the bar unfortunately were empty, but you could pretend I guess. Also the little theatre had a movie playing, and a horse-pulled wagon was available to ride on, but there were too many young folk under the age of 10 lined up for the next ride. About 5 miles from Columbia is a trout pond you can visit. You don't need a fishing license nor tackle. Once you catch a fish (and you will), the workers will clean it up for you and you can go back to your camp site and fry it up over the coals. You feel self-sufficient, even though you cheated a little. But, before you do that...stop at the Mt. Brow Winery on the way back for free wine-tasting and buy a bottle of your favorite wine and pepper jelly. read more

Just stayed here recently with family and friends. What a great little getaway. Not far from the valley, but isolated enough to make you feel like you escaped the city. They have a ton of things to do, the place is very clean and the staff are awesome. They attended to our needs quickly and without hassle. The price was affordable and the amenities were abundant. Less than 10 minutes to walk to old town Columbia. A 5 minute walk to the old marble quarry and more. The general store had a ton of stuff that was well thought out. Everything you could ask for as an RVer or camper was in the store and fairly priced. Put this on your list if you are planning future getaways! read more

We love this park. Great hospitality. We didn't want to go home early on Sunday and the Management staff let us stay until 5 pm at no extra charge. Most parks would charge you to stay. Surrounding area has so many things to do. Close and beautiful walk to Columbia State Park. We were up for the Harvest Festival on Oct 8th, 2011. We have been coming here for 2 years now. We have grown to a camping group of 8-10 Rv's now and Marble Quarry is loved by all of us. We can't say enough about the staff who do everything they can to make our stay the best it can be. They are the most friendly and accommodating of all that we have have been to. The park itself is clean, and large with full hookups. All are welcome, even the family pet, which they do not charge extra for, Not the norm I might add. There is a picturesque path that leads from the campground into the old town of Columbia that is a joy to stroll on. Give this RV park a stop on your next adventure. The only reason I am giving it 4 instead of 5 is because I am a tent camper. The tent area is a small (10 site) area next to the entrance and rural neighborhood road. Google map it for a good idea. If it weren't for the fact that was always just us and 1 other group it may have been a real bummer. . Sites are close But as for the rest of facilities thy were great.
