I visited The Witch's Cottage, also known as the Gallows Hill Museum & Theatre, for a show in October and enjoyed every minute of my experience. The staff knows exactly how to run its shows, with large crowds trembling over the cobblestone steps outside this charming Salem edifice. The show was just perfect in length, especially for kids, and gave its viewers interesting facts about Salem's history, including the witch trials. The Witch's Cottage is perfect not only because it has a great staff and a fun show, but also because it is nicely and conveniently located within walking distance of a lot of attractions in Salem. Following the show, my family and I purchased t-shirts in the Museum and headed out onto the old and classic streets of Salem. It made our venture to this Museum even more worthwhile as we were able to know exactly what occurred centuries before in the streets we padded down. If you are in for a good show--put on by an outstanding cast and staff--and want to learn about an interesting, old town in New England, then you definitely have to visit The Witch's Cottage!!

Came here on opening day with the Yelp Squad. I. Was. A. Kid. In. A. Candy. Store. Everything was new. Everything was exciting. The shows may be generalized into aerobatic, aerial, and circus performances, with a twist. Live music accompanies most of them. Part of it reminded me of Fuerza Bruta. Part of it reminded me of the Once popular, Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey Circus (without the animals). There are different bands that performs, a solo operatic singer, and meanwhile, creatures walking amongst while they perform. The second night I went (the night after the first), we had VIP seating and ate in the VIP section. The food was phenomenal. There was tacos, guac, Hors d'oeuvres of sashimi, shrimp, and steak. Endless champagne, beer, and wine. Private bathrooms. A gift bag at the end of the night. Parking closest to the gate. This was the first Cirque du Soleil and it got me hooked. Bill HANNEY's Broadway productions are truly amazing and I'm always impressed that each epic show on stage gets more and more intense and exciting to sit in the audience and just be entertained! The NSMT STAFF really gives a 100% to every production on this theater in the round stage! From the choreography, singing , acting, the set design, lighting, sound, costumes and the NSMT ORCHESTRA, you can't help but know you're getting the Best Broadway Shows east of NYC! So, as I sit and enjoy another performance of ROCK of AGES, I'm anticipating the next show in September! It is set in what looks like a school auditorium with just regular chairs. They have music playing and Nick the sophisticated psycho, buddy the clown and a magician walking around doing some tricks before the show. He actually did one to my wife and made her scream. The show consists of another magician who I found to be very entertaining. He started off the show with some tricks, some mind reading and some eerie things. All pretty cool. There is audience participation so it makes it even more fun if you like to be involved. They change it up every year so it's never the same. There are curtains on the windows to make the room darker but the light still shines through, it would be better at night where it would give a more frightening feel. It's not a very large auditorium so all seats are pretty good. Their website explains the show and seating arrangements. If you visit Salem I highly recommend checking it out. On a personal note, I lost my sunglasses, not sure where, but I went back and asked , and sure enough without hesitation Nick who was the sophisticated psycho, went directly to where they were and gave them to me. We arrived around 3:00 on a Thursday. We were able to get an inside seat. Two people were working and both appeared to be fairly attentive. Our waitress was very friendly and attentive. My wife and I both had PBR drafts. My youngest son and I both had Steak Tips and garlic fries. My wife had grilled cheese and my oldest son had fish tacos. Everything was good, fries were extremely garlicky. I wish they would have given more steak. Service was good, food was good, and prices were fair. I would recommend and return.
