Love that they're offering private (and affordable) theater rentals during the pandemic. My family had a great time watching a movie while also feeling safe. Also the owner is incredibly nice.

    I wouldn't touch anything

Small what looks to be family run business. I appreciate the prices and small town atmosphere. Kind of messy. Sticky floor!

If I could give no stars I would. Owner is horrible and not professional. I should have saved my money on this one and just stayed home.

This place is classic low budget and we lived every minute of it. Good prices, easy parking, good seats and first run movies.

It's next to an ice-cream store (seasonal) and one of the best seafood restaurants in town (The Causeway - get the chowder!).

Later when we tried to find a website to confirm the screening we weren't able to find one. So we went along at the time on the poster, and found we were the only attendees. The guy running the cinema was a true individual, running a film classic single handed. He initially had trouble with the projection, and asked if I could help out (it was a disc), which I did and we settled down together to watch. Our take on this experience is that to us this guy is a true hero to film, he clearly struggles somewhat with the technology and said he doesn't really do computers (hence no up to date website), but he is single-handedly trying to keep this place alive. Please support this cinema, either by visiting, donating, but most importantly helping out if you are local, or just getting in touch with a message of support. We were visiting from England, and in the interests of full disclosure I am a film cameraman, but to anyone who cares about seeing film on a big screen, this slightly quirky but uplifting experience was one that will stay with us. For those who have seen Capra's 'Meet John Doe' you can meet him personified at The Little Art Cinema, Rockport https://www.littleartrockport.com/

Good films too. ok, Update time: I have since seen two more flicks here this past summer. I love this place. The owner is really cool, he found us in the theater to give us sparkling water with cups to share before the film began. The films always seem to break, or in one case burn, but it really is apart of the whole atmosphere. My friend and I always end up having a few moments that we end up laughing about later on.... charm, relaxed and quirky.

I've been to this IMAX theater many times -- love it -- and may have even written a review. This…read moreis unusual in that I'm reviewing an experience where I *didn't* get to see the movie. I arrived an hour before Dune to be sure to get in line and get a seat. As I was entering, the fire alarm went off and people were ushered out and away from the building. An hour later we were let back in even while the strobe lights were still going off. We were given "updates" (no new info really) periodically and even mildly entertained by a genial staff member who offered some jelly bean trivia. An hour in we were told the movie was being cancelled and we would get free tickets to return. I want to commend the audience for staying chill throughout and as far as I could see not getting upset or outwardly annoyed. Disappointed yes, antagonistic, no. But most of all I want to commend the staff for the way they handled the matter. To a person they were pleasant, calm, apologetic and courteous. They seem to be a well coordinated and cohesive group, which is not something one often sees in movie theaters. Three cheers to the Jordan's Reading IMAX crew! -----Update: I returned later that day and was able to see Dune, which was awesome. There is nothing like this theater, with it's floor to ceiling screen, surroundsound and "buttkickers" (vibrations in your seat when appropriate). There were about 7 tickets of 500 left when I got mine so I was advised to get there an hour early, which I did. There were already about 75 people in line. We were let in about 20 minutes before the show was scheduled to start and I had no trouble getting my preferred seat near the top and center, but I would NOT have wanted to be near the end of the line. I think sitting at the end of a row would take some getting used to but be manageable, but I can't imagine anywhere in the first 5 rows would be enjoyable. Takeaway: get there early people!!

You stand in a line for a bit until they let you in and when you leave they make you walk all the way up and leave that way so beware if you have some mobility issues you may need to have them help you. The theatre is large and comfortable. The screen is giant and the movie was quite the experience. 3d plus butt kickers makes for a real experience. We had a great time

We've been coming to the Topsfield Drive-in for the past couple of weeks now, and it's been a great option for going out. There are concession stands set up, masks are required when you are outside your vehicle. It's been nice to go out for a movie. This week was Beetlejuice. For some reason I'm watching it now, and it's a really weird plot line for a movie, but I remember not questioning it as a kid. I remember the gags and the running jokes with Delia's sculptures, Barbara having a literal zipper on her mouth. Holy crap that is young Alec Baldwin and I didn't recognize him. Beetlejuice needs to marry Lydia, an adolescent for whatever reason? It just struck me last night that this movie probably wouldn't be made in today's day and age. I still love it though, however I'm starting to notice that I question more things as I get older. So, last week was actually Jumanji: The Next Level. So it's nice because there is a nice spread of movies to watch. The concession stand is fairgrounds prices, which is okay but who can be mad over $7 deep fried oreos, they're delicious and where else you gonna get this? They do offer radios for rent at $5 a pop, or to jump your car for $5 if your car dies while listening to the radio for the movie. We've run off the battery for a movie and have been fine. I would caution not to rely on your battery unless it was replaced recently, and just buy a cheap radio to watch the film.
