My review is absolutely about the results, craftsmanship, quality of products used, and the ethics of charging folks, what I consider as a lot of money, and making promises and over selling yourself, and absolutely overselling the Bona flooring products you use and swear by. Respectfully, Andy has got to either own stock in this company Bona or be getting kickbacks from the company? Andy sells the Bona products to you as a customer with such intense passion that you feel like you are at a Amway Cult Conference. THIS is the reason that I am writing this review. Andy and A-Maxx wood floors has good equipment and good skill at the art of restoring wood floors. The catch and in my opinion Andy's downfall....his is adamant about using Bona products and Bona WATER Based products and promises their quality, strength, ability to deliver a finish that will last many years. I conclude that either Andy is brainwashed by the Bona HD cool Aid and honestly believes that the Bona HD water based products are anything but hard sales drama with promises of results that will never last a year let alone several years if not your lifetime depending on your age and lifestyle. Folks, understand that not just Bona product, but ANY water based urethane and polyurethane flooring products are never ever going to give you the customer the results of strong sealed scratch and scuff resistant flooring surface that will hold up to shoes, furniture, kids, pets, enjoying yourself with friends and family and even a butter knife....Like good old oil based polyurethane products of any brand, ANY! I am nearly 60 years old and have lived on wood floors my whole life. I have installed new oak floors tongue and groove flooring planks, sanded and polyurethane (oil based), I have sanded and refinished existing old oak floor, and yes I have hired flooring contractors to sand and refinish my floors for me. This has been in all climates and all over the US from Miami to Chicago, to Albuquerque and Northern California. No contractor with your best interest in mind ( not theirs) would ever recommend using anything other than a oil based polyurethane finish or oil based flooring finish in general, the key is (oil based) here. Part 1 cont' Part 2 -continuation, Unfortunately lesson learned. Even at my age I still make mistakes. I should have listened to my conscience and stood my ground and not drank the cool aid with A-Maxx. If it sounds too good to be true is because it is. Andy and his one man show A-Maxx wood floors finished my floors in the beginning of July 2025 and my floors are in such bad shape that I am going to have to have them screen sanded and refinished using a correct appropriate oil based finish product for wood floors that can withstand a butter knife or even your sonic tooth brush being dropped on them. I take some responsibility in my situation, but there are other players in this too. I was absolutely clear to A-Maxx about my expectations and my reservations of using a water based product let alone a Bona HD garbage. Andy made many promises and I believed and trusted him. Andy has a great deal of experience refinishing wood floors, as such, I trusted that how could he have so much pride and passion about his craft but ruin that by using a water based finish product that is simply junk and will not hold up to not just my standards but anyones. Having your floors sanded and refinished in your entire home is not something you want to do more than once if you can avoid that. It's a mess! gets sawdust everywhere and be guaranteed you will have to repaint all and I mean all quarter round and floor molding including door casement molding and walls. These companies including Andy can promise you that they have the very latest equipment that will not make a mess! Total crap!!! That is a impossible promise do not fall for it. As is the promise that you won't have to repaint everything and nothing will get banged up and dented. This is just not true. Understand that Andy was not the only floor company I met and discussed my wishes. ALL OF THEM use and recommend using a water based wood floor finish coating product. I thought it was because products have come a long way and water may just may be as strong and durable as oil based???? This is simply not true any flooring professional will state this fact, as long as they aren't the contractor doing the job. Another key point to help you understand why everyone is using water based finishes as opposed to oil. It's all about time, and time is money. Water based finishes dry super fast allowing for the second coat or third coat in the same day! That's crazy! Well that's why you get a finish that can't hold up. Having your floors sanded and refinished and dry to be back on them in 2 days is impossible. But if you are a wood flooring contractor this is awesome as you can bank

We asked for a drainage system costs a additional $500. Since we were placing a business here the owner of the company questioned us about a moisture barrier and gravel. We were told hed verify and it would be a additional cost. We were then told since it was a commercial building it would have to have gravel and moister guard by the owner of the company for a additional charge of $2500... As people who don't know much about concrete we relied on all these reviews and chose this company. Once the concrete was laid there was a grade we thought was normal. Until our building company came and were making sure the pad was ready to go.... On a diagonal one side is 3 plus foot higher then the other side.... we weren't able to place our building on the pad when we used a laser to look at the pad itself not one part of the concrete pad is level. When we tried to talk to the owner about this issue we were informed thats how it was supposed to be etc. we had the building company talk to the owner about what all needed to be done to fix the pad... we were told by 2 other concrete companies the ONLY way to fix it would to be to rip it up and re do it. During the conversation with the builder and the owner pf this company he pretty much told the building company he would not fix it because he was right and it would cost to much money to fix. The owner of this companies solution was to build a 3 foot wall around the 30x30 part of the pad where our kennel area was going.... needless to say we had to call him several times to get them to fill the holes, they used our barrels in our yard for their trash, left a mess in my yard, left trash in my yard, etc. we called several time finally they came and picked the big bags of trash they left in the yard up. Then is demanding a additional $2500 for materials. We get our kennels here to install and we cant even put up our 30k kennels because the concrete pad is so aweful!!! We were set to open our business in October and now we have over 100k sitting on our property we can't do anything with. VERY VERY upset . The company is still wanting money for the 3ft brick wall not to mention we were going to have indoor outdoor kennels that can't happen now along with the drainage system doesn't even work water pools in one corner. BEWARE do not use this company. very disappointed and heart broken when you put your lifetime savings into a business you've dreamed about and can't even use it due to irresponsibility.

The job was about 23 yards of concrete with a decorative overlay and stone bench seating in a large, lowered semi_circle area. All work was done to my specs and desires, including proper slope and drainage. The overlay was likewise done to my plan and is extremely durable. All teams took good care to avoid any damage to existing structures, plants and other parts of the home. That said, I advise using tarps to protect your lawn, prepping the area by moving stuff out of the way, and giving the workers a clean, open space to work. These jobs are "2-way streets" in that you need to do your part in preparation for this kind of major work around your home. Mark sprinklers, structures, planters, etc. and discuss any concerns in advance and if you suspect bad weather is on the way, consider delaying the project. This is SC and squalls can happen. Know that your lawn is going to get lots of traffic, too. Christian did an excellent job of advising on schedules, arrivals and departures, costs and options, and was on-site daily to oversee progress and discuss any concerns I had. I strongly recommend Prime Concrete Solutions whether you're pouring a plain concrete slab, driveway, decorative patio or foundation.
