I have been wearing a frame called the 2.5 by Italee for the last eight years. They meet all my needs. Italee also does the lens work in house, sometimes when a company uses an outside lab they blame each other for any problems. The frame is light, the lenses, the most advanced progressives made. I replace my glasses about every 18 months because I have diabetic retinopathy. I call Italee and ask them to recommend an optician in the area I am living. This time they recommended Spechler Optical. It is an independent optical shop. Next door is an optician, who happens to be Mr Spechler's brother. I had my script from another Dr. I brought it to Mr. Spechler. It was the best eyeglass buying experience of my life. Mr. Spechler is incredibly knowledgeable about glasses. I spoke to him over an hour about what I wanted. I was so impressed I bought two full pairs. The glasses are perfect. they are fashionable, and more importantly my vision is the best it can be. He is very fair with his prices. He was hundreds of dollars cheaper than his competition. In short, if you want the best service, and prices go to Spechler optical. I strongly recommend them.

If such atrocity were to happen to me, you can find me a dark corner, hugging my knees, not knowing how to deal with the world. No exaggeration. That's how bad my myopia is. That said, it's important for me to have the best in lenses, frames and contact lenses. Not to sound like an infomercial, but that is the reason I go to Spechler Optical for my exams, glasses and contacts. Everyone in the office is extremely friendly and helpful. The best part is knowing that they really care about their customers. Well, actually, the best part is that the people at Spechler Optical don't treat me like a bottomless pocket. There's no overselling here (unlike Lenscrafters-- I swear, I don't need Gucci sunglasses when I came in for contact lenses!) which is cause for an extra star, if only I could give a sixth. He takes great care in listening to you and in explaining his diagnoses thoroughly. Earlier this year he diagnosed that I had a retinal detachment in both of my eyes. I saw a retinal surgeon who confirmed the diagnosis and performed the surgeries two weeks apart. While the recovery took nearly 3 months, I still have my vision. My vision after the healing process was completely changed (I could see but everything more than a foot away was extremely blurred) and Dr. Hartman explained the reasons why and fitted me with a new pair of glasses that have finally allowed me to see clearly! You do not appreciate things until you lose them and for about 2 weeks after the second surgery I was effectively (completely) blind. It was scary and frustrating! I have a new respect for eye health and making sure I do everything possible to maintain healthy eyes. Dr. Hartman has earned my respect and trust and I do not hesitate in recommending him to anyone looking for high quality, professional eye care.

He answered all of my and my wife's questions and concerns, and never tried to push an unnecessary procedure on me. I had other consultations for laser surgery before ultimately selecting Dr. Weinstock, and all of my other consultations felt rushed and very sales-like and not at all clinical. Dr. Weinstock was readily available to address questions via email and text, and was flexible in his scheduling of in-person follow-ups to accommodate my needs (early/weekend appointments). The surgery itself was successful, taking less than an hour and completely painless. I had clear vision a few hours after my surgery and was completely recovered within 24 hours. I have no residual dry-eye, my night vision is crystal clear and without any starbursts (common post-LASIK issues that I did not experience). I am picky when it comes to my glasses, and I was happy that they provided honest opinions on how the frames looked on me. The office itself is very nice; it's clean, modern and has a good selection of frames. Dr. Staab was great. My eye exam was quick and thorough; the doctor explained everything and even showed me pictures of my eye on a monitor (something an Optometrician has never done for me before). They scheduled my appointment same day, had no wait, and overall provided an outstanding experience.
