I got my Lasik done in 2010. I was super nervous, but the staff made my nervousness go away by keeping me informed and treating me very nicely. I am going back hopefully for a tune up and am so surprised by the negative reviews. I hope the staff has not drastically changed and my experience is the same. Unfortunately my experience was extremely sup par, two business days before my cataract surgery Kremer just canceled my surgery without discussing anything with me prior to cancellation. They stated via voicemail that there surgical center did not take my insurance, they gave me no cash option, no discussion, just cancelled stating I would need to find another practice to hand my case. They refunded my credit card for the upgraded lense and canceled my follow-up appointments with my eye doctor one hour prior to leaving me a voices mail. This I confirmed via my email timestamp versus my incoming phone call timestamp and contacting my local eye doctor. When I called them back (three times) I did not receive a call back. My insurance provider attempted to contact them two time with no call back. I finally called my local eye doctor who referred me to Kremer and she did call them and finally there Center Manager provided me with a return call stating they handled it poorly. For the record, I asked before my consultation if they accepted my insurance the answer was yes, during my financial consult I again asked if my insurance would cover the procedure and the answer was yes. I paid the co-pays for consultation, had all the required blood work, physical and EKG completed only to have them cancel because they did not check if there outsourced surgical center would accept my health insurance. There answer was to just cancel my surgery and tell me to find an alternative surgeon to handle my case. Now I am looking for a new surgeon and will most likely have to repeat the physical, bloodwork, and EKG if I cannot get a surgery date with 30 days of my doctors sign off. Patients are not aware of the financial interworking of how medical practices like Kremer operate it is the responsibility of the staff and the owners of the practice to insure these bases are covered. Cancelling a surgery two business days before surgery is poor management and over site by ownership. Lack of communication is unacceptable and caused me to be suspect of how my care would be handled. My treatment is delayed and my vision Is failing and all I got for rushing around seeing doctors, getting bloodwork and EKG completed was cancellation. I hope my case is a one off but if I could give them a zero start review I would have. read more

I was recommended to this location as they have scheduled days in my primary eye doctor's office. The majority of the staff is unprofessional via the phone, front desk and when you are being taken back to the office. I've had multiple experiences here that rubbed me the wrong way but today was just the straw that broke the camels back. I had an appointment coming up and they called leaving a voicemail to ask if I could come in the same day earlier. I called back right away to say ok. I tried entering the extension and it didn't work. So I got a man that barely speaks English on the phone he had me on hold while I listen to him making all types of huffs and puffs for god knows how long. Then he asked me my date of birth and starts rambling about my appointment. I told him that I was called and asked if I could come in the same day before 11 and he said hold on. Next thing I know I'm being blind transferred like a ping pong ball to multiple people that keep passing the buck. The last person I was transferred to I believe was the same original man. He tried to tell me I didn't get told that and he has that a voicemail was left to re schedule. I said no I'm looking at the message. He said well we don't have openings for that time. I said then why would they tell me that. He puts me in hold again and comes back saying someone else is going to call me back. I said no they don't need to because I'm no longer interested in being a patient there thank you and I hung up. A woman then called me back to see if I could come on the 14 and I told her no thank you and why. Bottom line I wasn't impressed by the doctor I was seeing there anyway but I was willing to go to see if my eyes were improving while I searched for another practitioner. However it's not worth the energy putting up with horrendous unprofessional customer service for mediocre eye care. There's a possibility I may need surgery and I can tell you hands down I would not trust this office with it had I of went to my next appointment or not. NO SURGERY - OFFICE VISIT ONLY . . . Very professional staff and nice, organized, office. I was greeted and checked in promptly. I arrived a bit early, and was taken back early - sweet! The technician that helped and tested me was super sweet. I saw a female doctor who discussed laser - LASIK - surgery with me. Although not a long duration, I wasn't thrilled about the recovery time and what patients encounter while healing (a burning/soap like stinging initially - first day), possible "halo" effects with lights for a few weeks, etc. Overall, though - you can resume regular activities the next day, including driving. My last stop and staff that I saw was a female (Christy? I'm bad w/ names - sorry) who discussed the doctor's schedule and pricing. Too rich for my blood, especially with a trip to Hawaii coming up in 2020, God spares, and including their financing options. $5,000 for both (who would get just one?!!) eyes. If I come into some money - I'm there! and trust Kremer because of my trusted and stupendous eye doctor's (Dr. Louis Iacoponi - Cherry Hill, NJ) recommendation and relationship, but for now, and some time, I'll have to pass. read more

Horrible experience! I was supposed to fix a droopy eyelid on my eye and my insurance should have covered it. I had to reschedule the procedure three times and ended up up canceling it because they didn't send paperwork to my insurance company on time, then they couldn't send pictures via e-mail, they told me they can't get in contact with my insurance company, etc. I followed many times and had no issues contacting the insurance company. It took me 6 months to realize they don't want to do business with me. Why? I don't know. The last e-mail I sent to their manager and two voicemails were left unresponded. I was completely ignored!!! So, if you are considering any procedures with them, be prepared to that they will not respond to your calls or messages if something goes wrong and you would need extra care or assistance! read more

I want to publicize the horrible experience I've had with Kremer Eye Center. I would NOT recommend this practice to anyone. I had an eye lash burning procedure with Dr. Paul Johnson earlier this year (due to me having several eye lashes that grow inward and poke my eyeball), and that went ok. However, unfortunately the lashes in that area began to grow back. Due to several lashes poking my eye ball, I developed a corneal scratch which became very painful. I attempted to contact Kremer 3 days in a row trying to get through to schedule an urgent visit with Dr. Johnson and could not reach anyone. I got through to leave a voicemail once, and I know someone called me back (as I had a missed call from Kremer on my cell). However, no one left me a voicemail or an extension to reach out to. I ended up having to see my original eye provider, who called Kremer when I was there, and finally got me an appointment. When I went in for my visit with Dr. Johnson this morning, neither of the two medical assistants I met with had any idea why I was there. One proceeded to ask me if I was there because the cream I was prescribed was not working (I was never prescribed a cream). It felt like she was reading from another patient's chart. Then, I finally met with Dr. Johnson, and asked him for advice on any preferred ways to reach out to the practice if other urgent issues arise and he was not helpful at all. He proceeded to tell me that the only way to reach the office was via phone, and there is no further advice he can give. Then, he asked me several times "Is there anything else I can do for you? Is there anything else I can do for you?" with a straight face as if he wanted me to leave his office and could care less about the phone line issue. To me, patients not being able to get through with urgent concerns is a MAJOR problem. It almost seemed as if he was unwilling to help me and/or not concerned about the issue due to me being a minority (considering that I heard him speak nicely to the white man he helped before me). It is also interesting how all of his patient examples on his website are white. I have never seen a doctor with 0 empathy and 0 concern for the patient they are serving. I am disgusted by the care I have received at this practice and will never return to receive any additional care from them. I DO NOT RECOMMEND DR. JOHNSON TO ANYONE, EVER. read more

I was there for hours. Most of the time was spent in the waiting room. I showed up early for my appointment, and I wasn't seen until almost an hour in. Service was terrible. They ran several test and probably ones they didn't even have to. Very unorganized. It was like an assembly line and after everything was said and done I still didn't have a definitive answer. On Friday morning January 4, 2019, I underwent a cataract removal from my right eye at the South Jersey Surgical Center following a comprehensive exam at his office in Cherry Hill by Dr. Jesse Richmond, MD. I received outstanding care throughout the entire process. Dr. Richmond and his staff, both at surgery and initial exam explained everything and recommend surgery. I saw Dr. Miller today for a free consultation and it was absolutely wonderful. My exam was thorough and every test was explained to me in detail as we proceeded. But that wasn't what makes me say that this office is wonderful. Allow me to explain: my eyes were his concern, not getting my money. That may sound very cynical but it should be the concern of every consumer. Are they telling me this for my health or for them to get paid? There are plenty of places that will advise you to get something simply because you are a candidate. I am a candidate for LASIK. Dr. Miller went a step further and explained what my vision would require a few years out. He was honest and said that later down the line I would require glasses, so avoidance of glasses is not an option with or without the surgery for me. He detailed what my vision plan will be in the future and that explanation is what is helping me in my consideration of moving forward. That honesty, coupled with an explanation of my options as well as explaining what the surgery would actually do for my vision is what let me know that I could trust them with my vision. If you are considering LASIK, at least give them a call, have a consultation and make an informed decision. You won't regret it. read more

My review is long overdue. I was reminded to write one because I saw an ad for Kremer while writing a review for a sunglass retailer. Anyway, Kremer -- particularly Dr. Hoffman -- gave me a new lease on life. I had a really strong prescription and could only get to about 20/80 with contacts, but I'm a competitive dragon boater and live on the water so glasses would have been really inconvenient. Dr. Hoffman actually got me to 20/20, and I went in knowing that there was a good chance I wouldn't get to 20/20 due to my age (48 at the time) and strength of prescription. Now I just wear readers to save strain, but glasses are now an accessory. I just bought new fabulous frames in London last week. Why? Because I COULD without dropping $500 - $700 on new glasses. If you are on the fence I highly recommend you just go in and check it out. It is seriously one of the top five decisions I've ever made in my life. Oh, and they offered interest-free payments for the first year, and I paid my procedure off in 12 months. So I didn't pay a penny in interest. read more

Fantastic LASIK experience! I was supposed to be operated on at their KOP location, but due to a long power outage my surgery was moved to Cherry Hill. Dr. Aronsky still came and performed it, which was great, and everything went well. The staff at Kremer is friendlier than anywhere I've ever been for medical-related things, and they're all helpful and are able to answer any questions you may have. If anyone asks me for a recommendation for LASIK or similar procedures I will immediately mention Kremer. There's really nowhere better! read more

I will admit, I am prejudiced against any medical facility that advertises as much as Kremer does. That said, my recent experience there was positive. A recent consult with a different ophthalmologist in Philadelphia (review of that facility will come when my treatment there is complete) led to the discovery of an anatomical curiosity in my eyes, which was probably nothing, but my doctor wanted me to have further testing just to rule out another condition. Not wanting to travel back to Philadelphia for the tests, and my regular optometrist unable to perform one of the tests in his office, I was referred to Kremer. My appointment was at 8:40 a.m. I arrived a few minutes early and was greeted right away by a pleasant receptionist. I filled out a couple short forms (the longer ones had been sent to me at home, which I always appreciate), and then I sat down. I was seated for all of 2 minutes when one of the technicians came to get me. I had a total of 3 tests, and didn't have to wait more than a few minutes in between tests as the next one was being set up for me. I saw a total of two different technicians who administered the tests, and both were extremely pleasant to deal with. The last tech was nice enough to print out an extra copy of my tests for me to bring with me, not as if I have any clue what these blobs of color supposedly representing my eyes mean, but I do always like to have copies of my tests, even if they are being sent to my doctors. They also obviously sent my tests to my treating doctors immediately as well, as I got a call very quickly from my optometrist with my results. The entire facility was clean, uncluttered, and nicely decorated. This is actually a somewhat new office for Kremer, as they moved pretty much across the street form their previous location. As nice as my experience at Kremer was, I'll be honest... I still have my prejudices about this place, and will not be having Lasik or any other procedure here. Still, it is nice to know that there is a facility close by where I can have testing done, should I need it in the future. read more

All of the staff at Kremer are very courteous and personable. From being welcomed by the receptionists, to working with the various nursing/aid staff, up to seeing the doctors. For such a busy practice, I never feel like just another patient. I felt respected, cared for, and always felt a concern for my health and well being. I had cataract surgery in both eyes performed by Dr. Jesse Richman with 20/20 vision results for both eyes (I had been a contact/glasses wearer for 45 years). From the first consultation, through the surgeries and aftercare, I always felt well informed, comfortable, and well cared for. Two years ago I had Visian eye surgery done at Kremer and everything was great at first. A few months after the surgery, my vision was getting worse and worse. I then needed to buy computer glasses as I was getting headaches everyday. One year later I found out that the surgery caused a cataract in my right eye, which meant another surgery NOT COVERED even though I was told future corrections would be free with their "lifetime commitment policy". But, even after that surgery I was still getting migraine headaches twice a day. Now I needed to buy yet another new pair glasses, which I need to wear all the time. In the end almost $10K later, my vision is much worse now, then before I went to Kremer. I still need to wear glasses and now have all the side effects of the surgeries: light sensitivity, can't read small type on my phone... I don't believe Kremer did anything wrong? I just wanted to share my experience so everyone was aware of the side effects and what can happen. If I could do things over again, I would definitely not have the surgery. read more

I went for a free consultation on 11/16/16 I saw doctor miller and was so impressed with the whole staff. Everyone was friendly and welcoming. They did a bunch of testing to see if I was a candidate for the procedure, which I was. I was not pressured into when I should get the procedure or pressured to even get it. I have been going to Kremer for about 5-6 years. They have a wonderful friendly staff and the wait is never long. My regular doctor is Dr. Richman, he is very competent, friendly and explains and takes the time to answer any questions concerning whatever condition you might have. I arrived for my 2:45 P.M. follow-up visit at 2:35. At the check-in counter I was told I had been notified that my appointment had been cancelled. I assured the receptionist that I was never notified of a cancellation. She insisted that I had been. I showed her the text messages on my phone confirming the date, time and protocols to be observed when I arrived for my 2:45 appointment. The receptionist then told me the appointment had been canceled because the doctor was not in. I was extremely annoyed having left my workplace early, driven more than 40 minutes (46 miles) to make sure I was on time. I shared my displeasure with the receptionist. I turned to leave, but returned to ask to speak with the Office Manager. The receptionist went to get her. That's when I saw my doctor in the hallway going into an examination room. When the receptionist returned, she indicated that she had made an error and that the doctor was indeed in and seeing patients. I was replaced in the schedule. I did speak with the office manager. She was very cavalier in her attitude and seemingly uninterested about the situation cancelled/not cancelled; in the schedule/out of the schedule/in the schedule. Her apology seemed insincere. My time is valuable and not to be discounted or disrespected. I don't know that I will be returning. read more

I had lasik surgery @ Kremer in Cherry Hill on August 28th, 2015 with Dr. Hoffman. I was referred to this center by my cousin and a good friend who both had surgery here within the last decade. The people who work here are very nice and extremely helpful. They are also very non-chalant. They kind of give you the vibe that shooting this laser in your eye in no big deal and we do it all the time. However, I must say that apparently they know what they are doing because 4 months out and I can see 20/20 and 20/15. My life changed that day in August. I would recommend that you go here, have your consultation, stay calm and follow all of the pre and post operation instructions. The procedure was done right, explained to me in detail, all of the potential costs were presented to me up front. The staff was really great. I give Kremer a 5 star, A plus. This was a perfect experience. I have told so many of my friends and relatives to make the move and get the surgery. read more

They had great technical expertise and great results on cataract surgery. They took great care to make sure I understood the procedure and expected results. The reason for less than 5 stars is that their administrative support needs to catch up with their technical expertise. My insurance had some twists and turns to it. I would expect that they would have been proactive but were not. If I had just followed what they told me to do, I would have been out of pocket a good amount. Fortunately I did not accept their advice and spent a great deal of time and effort to insure the billing and insurance was properly handled. I felt like I did the work that their administration should have done. read more

My mother recently had an appointment due to cataracts. I attended this appointment as her support team. She was very anxious at the beginning of this appointment. From the time we entered the door, the staff was patient and sensitive to her feelings. As a registered nurse, I appreciated that the staff explained everything that was being done patiently. This helped with decreasing her anxiety and making her feel comfortable and respected. Dr. Richman educated us both on her condition as well as the surgery perfectly. He was also supportive to me as her support (making sure I also understood and answering my questions). Afterwards Maria scheduled upcoming appointments needed and went over all the information verbally as well as providing written information. This was like a one stop shop. Often people feel overwhelmed with new diagnosis' and are non-complaint due to not understanding the importance of their health issue and the healthcare system. Hats off to the staff at Kremer Eye Center! This Nurse Case Manager will definitely recommend others in need to your facility. read more

God awful experience there! On my initial consultation I asked 4 different staff what the price would be. Every one said the next person I saw would give me that, with the final girl telling me I would have to come back to see the surgeon next week to get a price. Took off work to go the next week and the spent an hour with the surgeon running the same tests as the week before, and then she was trying to schedule the surgery with me before they would give me pricing. I finally got the pricing (which was double what I anticipated) and realized it was a wasted (and unpaid) afternoon off work. But then they asked me to see the office manager so they could see what went wrong.I got to stick around another 5 minutes waiting for her to tell me "oops".
