Business Name: Smith & Vinson Law Firm, PLLC Business…read moreAddress: 1411 West Ave Ste 124, Austin, TX 78701 Phone: (512) 359-3743 Website: https://www.smithandvinson.com Complaint: I hired Smith & Vinson Law Firm, PLLC -- specifically attorneys Bradley Vinson and Jarrod L. Smith -- to represent me in a serious legal matter. I was prevented from attending a court hearing due to an emergency situation where I was physically held against my will. Despite this, the firm withdrew from my case without making any attempt to contact me or hear my explanation. I was completely abandoned during a critical legal proceeding. When I posted a factual review about my experience, the firm did not address the issue professionally. Instead, they threatened me with legal action unless I removed the review. They offered a partial refund -- but only if I signed a nondisclosure agreement that would prevent me from speaking publicly about the matter. This is coercive and unethical. I have documented communications and screenshots that prove these threats were made. Their actions not only reflect a breach of professional ethics, but also an attempt to silence legitimate criticism from a paying client. I am requesting a full refund of the amount paid and a formal acknowledgment of their mishandling of my case. Attorney Names Include: * J. Bradley Vinson * Jarrod L. Smith * Fernando Ruiz * Jessica Huynh * Charles Falck

I hired this firm hoping to have strong representation during a difficult and highly contested…read morecase, but I ultimately left feeling disappointed with the value I received for the amount of money spent. The attorneys and staff completed the work that was requested, and I understand that legal matters require time and attention. However, throughout the case, opposing counsel repeatedly made what appeared to be excessive and time-consuming requests that added significant stress, delays, and expense. My attorney advised me to answer every question and provide as much information as possible, which I did in good faith. What made this especially frustrating was that opposing counsel appeared to do none of the things they were required to do, yet I was still expected to devote substantial time and resources to responding to every request. While I was told that the firm was working with me to keep costs down, I often felt that more could have been done to push back against unnecessary actions rather than spending additional time responding to every demand. What was most frustrating is that after months of stress, countless billable hours, and substantial legal fees, the final outcome was essentially the same resolution I had originally offered. Looking back, it is difficult not to question whether all of the additional work, expense, and emotional strain was truly necessary to reach that point. I recognize that attorneys cannot control the actions of opposing counsel, and I appreciate that legal matters must be handled properly. However, I expected more strategic guidance on when it made sense to engage and when it made sense not to. Instead, I was left feeling that a great deal of time and money was spent navigating obstacles that everyone knew were unlikely to change the ultimate outcome. This review reflects my personal experience. Others may have a different perspective, but I left feeling that the cost far outweighed the value I received.
