However, throughout the case, opposing counsel repeatedly made what appeared to be excessive and time-consuming requests that added significant stress, delays, and expense. My attorney advised me to answer every question and provide as much information as possible, which I did in good faith. What made this especially frustrating was that opposing counsel appeared to do none of the things they were required to do, yet I was still expected to devote substantial time and resources to responding to every request. While I was told that the firm was working with me to keep costs down, I often felt that more could have been done to push back against unnecessary actions rather than spending additional time responding to every demand. What was most frustrating is that after months of stress, countless billable hours, and substantial legal fees, the final outcome was essentially the same resolution I had originally offered.
