I switched to Dr. Kakos's dental office due to convenience of location and based off Yelp reviews…read more I'm glad I turned to yelp as this office and their staff are the best I've dealt with. They're professional and knowledgeable while maintaining a comfortable and friendly environment. The lady at the front desk (sorry I didn't catch her name) was welcoming and was helpful with my very specific scheduling needs as well as my insurance questions. Michelle, the hygienist was great. She was well knowledged in her work. (She confirmed for me that I don't have periodontal disease which the last dentist I was seeing said I do have) After my cleaning with Michelle, Dr. Kakos Came and did the followup work. You can tell she takes pride in her work and cares about her patients, which was confirmed because her cell phone # is on her business card. I'd highly recommend Dr. Kakos and her office and staff!

I'm sharing this review as a mother who invested thousands of dollars trying to ensure her daughter…read morereceived quality cosmetic dental care--only to be deeply disappointed by the outcome and then contacted by an attorney after voicing our experience. I'm writing this with caution and sincerity, as I believe consumers have the right to honest feedback and transparency, especially when it involves health care. My personal experience with Dr. Kakos and her team was frustrating and disheartening. After my daughter received dental implants, we trusted this office to handle the cosmetic restoration. What followed were multiple appointments filled with color mismatches, design issues, and blame placed on everything except the care provided--from my daughter's gum and tooth structure to previous orthodontic work, and even the implant surgeon's technique. None of these explanations changed the fact that the results simply did not look right. Despite staff repeatedly saying the teeth looked "beautiful," my daughter was left with gray-toned, short crowns that appeared unnatural. The only solutions offered were invasive and unnecessary, in my opinion, such as gum surgery or shaving down healthy teeth to compensate. This left us feeling stuck, pressured, and ultimately misled. Thankfully, we found another provider, Dr. Danyal at Berkley Dental, who corrected the work in under two hours. The difference was immediate and validating. It's important to note that after initially posting my experience, I was contacted by legal counsel representing Dr. Kakos. I was disheartened--but not surprised--that a professional response came in the form of legal threats rather than genuine concern for patient satisfaction. I believe in patients' rights to speak about their care without being silenced or intimidated. So here I am again, stating clearly and respectfully: based on my experience, I would not recommend this practice for advanced or cosmetic procedures. If you're considering more than a routine cleaning, I strongly suggest seeking a second opinion. This review reflects my own experience and opinion and is protected under federal and state consumer rights laws, including the First Amendment and the Consumer Review Fairness Act. I share it not with malice, but with a hope to inform and protect others.

This has been one of the most disappointing and distressing dental experiences I have ever had…read more While the front-desk staff and hygienist are courteous, the main dentist, Dr. Kam, demonstrated a shocking lack of professionalism and empathy. A couple of months back, I had a root canal performed here. The treatment itself seemed fine at the time, but it was followed by an unpleasant billing experience. Because of that, I decided to go elsewhere for my regular cleanings -- which turned out to be excellent. However, when I began experiencing pain in the same tooth treated by Dr. Kam, I returned to him, thinking it was best to consult the original provider. At first, the visit was normal, but once he learned that I had gone elsewhere for cleanings, his attitude completely changed. He became defensive and dismissive, made several inappropriate remarks about my oral hygiene, and even seemed to examine the treated area roughly, causing unnecessary pain. I tried to explain my reasons for changing clinics, but he abruptly ended the consultation and refused to treat the issue, telling me to go back to wherever I got my cleaning done. It is extremely unusual and deeply unprofessional for a medical practitioner to refuse treatment in this manner. I left the office in worse condition and genuinely concerned about how such behavior can go unchecked in a medical environment. Patients deserve respect, transparency, and professional care -- not hostility, retaliation, or unethical conduct. I would strongly advise others to consider alternative providers who value patient well-being and integrity.

When I was old enough to have my own insurance coverage, I tried other places closer to home, but I've always come back. I've returned to this office after years of not having any dental work done, and realized the ownership change and all my previous dental hygenists have retired. I'm now seeing Dr. Rollins. I had a chipped central incisor (lower front tooth) and he did a quick repair on it. The work he did was absolutely perfect. It was so good, that the next time I was in their office, he wasn't sure which tooth he had repaired just by looking at my teeth! :) I'm really glad I decided to give this office another try under their new ownership. It's every bit as good as it was before, dare I say even better because I don't feel like this office is only out to make money. Years ago, the previous dentists decided I needed to have work done on all my rear molars and after all the sealant has fallen out or worn down, I have deep crevices that are somewhat bothersome, mainly because in hindsight, I don't believe I should have ever had that work done but I was too young to know that there was an option to decline. I was still in K-12 school at the time. I don't believe Dr. Rollins would even attempt to suggest that I have work done that I don't need. In fact, I asked about an area of concern in one of my teeth and he thought it would be better if we wait, because the work he would have had to do, would have done more damage than the wear and tear that I already have on that tooth. Love it!! IDEA: If you have sensitive gums, be sure you ask about using gas. They are skilled at administering gas which can take the edge off the pain if you're sensitive. I don't have to use gas for my cleanings, but I always ask for it if they're going to drill and it works! It wore off quickly for me, once they turned it off and I was able to drive without noticing any difference in how I felt before I arrived versus when I left the office after having gas administered.
