I just had the absolute worst customer service I've ever experienced at a restaurant. To begin the journey, I called to place a pickup order which consisted of two pizzas and two calzones. It took at least six times for me to state my order, and the gentleman I was speaking with to repeat it back to me incorrectly before we both felt comfortable that he had the details right. He was an older fellow so I tried to be patient and told him that order accuracy is everything so I was ok spending the extra time to make sure the order was right. Once I arrived and my order was ready, we realized that one of the pizzas had the wrong toppings. At first I told them just to refund that part of the order because by the time they remade that one and I got everything home, the stuff that was right wouldn't be good after sitting in the boxes for so long. They insisted that they could remake the pizza in 8 minutes and that everything was would be fine if they left the rest of the order on top of the ovens. I repeated at least twice that I would prefer the partial refund, but they continued to insist so I grudgingly agreed. Once that one was done, they showed it to me and mentioned they added extra cheese. I was handed four boxes which allegedly contained my original order. They also told me they added an extra calzone and a slice of cheesecake in an attempt to make up for their error. Fast forward to the house and when I opened the boxes, I found not only the pizza that they remade, but also a duplicate of that pizza instead of one of the calzones I ordered and the "bonus" calzone looked like it had been sitting on the counter for the last 12 hours. To top it off, as I expected the two items from the original order that actually were correct were ice cold by that point. I will never, ever do business with these people again. It's a shame, because the food is decent when they get it right. It's simply just not worth the hassle. I was wrong about giving the benefit of the doubt to the older gentleman. I arrived early and had a good 15 minutes to see how he interacted with both the employees and other customers. Someone needs to tell him he should step away from the front lines. read more

Ordered the large New Yorker. It has a spicer sauce with pepperoni, mushrooms, and sausage. The spicer sauce was imperceptible. I prefer a heavier sauce and it was kind of runny. It tasted good and the portions of meat were good. I dunno. It wasn't bad and it wasn't like I had to have it again. Maybe I'll give it another whirl down the road. read more

This was our first time trying Marcello's New York Pizza and it was fantastic. We ordered the Hot honey pizza and instantly knew we would be coming back to Marcello's. Its a great New York style pizza that will have us coming back. The staff is awesome and friendly too! Its located in the same plaza as the medina antique mall. Visited Marcello's to pick up a couple pies to try. They currently don't offer delivery so it's take out only. I requested a 14" pepperoni and a 14" veggie pizza along with some BBQ chicken wings. I arrived 30 minutes later as instructed and they were boxing up my pizzas. The prices are slightly high compared to the pizza shop across the street. I drove home and we had dinner. The pizza was decent. I think the best part was the crust. The toppings were tasty also. Overall, I'd give the pizza three stars. The wings were breaded and deep dried. They had a nice crunch on them. The flavor was good. I'd give the wings four stars, taking into account they're not the traditional wings us Medina folk are accustomed to. I wasn't impressed with the meal. I'll try it again and see if anything changes. read more

Well, let's just say we were treated like family. As always in a new area and needing to have lunch I pulled out my phone and tap Yelp. We were not disappointed. I ordered the large salad that should be listed as gigantically huge. What a salad it had everything on but the kitchen sink. The hubby ordered the special meatball sub (meatballs made in house) that included soda and chips for $10. The gentleman from the kitchen engaged both of us asking if we had been there before. We told them how we found the restaurant and chatted a bit. As we were eating they brought us out a piece of sausage pizza to try. (For free!!) Homemade sausage !!! It was awesome. We always make a point of trying new places and we just became aware of Marcello's so we ordered a pizza last night. Got their "New Yorker" (spicy sauce w pepperoni. Pros: sauce was good, pizza was large, slices, were "New York" style meaning equally large. Cons: very little cheese and pepperoni, slightly undercooked, expensive (22$) for what we got. Honestly other than the sauce being spicy and it costing three times more this pizza was indistinguishable from a pizza you'd get from Sam's club or Cosco. read more

Being a native New Yorker this place has the closest NY style pizza in Ohio! You know it's good when you fold it in half and it stays firm and doesn't sag. I've been to many so called pizza places in Ohio, Marcello's is tops. If somebody leaves a negative review then they don't know good pizza. True New York style pizza period. read more

For $5 they basically give a thin crust personal sized pizza. The cashier at the time allowed me to add topping to one of the pre made slices. Overall nice experience and service for $5 pizza. read more

Strange Experience at a Local Business Saturday night, Lindsay and I decided to support a local, family-owned business for dinner. We chose Marcello's New York Pizza in Medina--about 15 minutes away. We've been there before, and while we've had minor issues in the past, we decided to give them another shot. I placed our order at 8:30 PM with the female owner, then went out to the car to wait. While chatting with Lindsay, we decided to add two small salads. I went back inside and was met at the counter by the male owner. When I asked if they had salads, his response was surprisingly aggressive: "Yes, we do have salads, but we're closed. Can't you read the sign on the door?" Confused, I stepped back outside to check. The sign clearly said open until 9:00 PM--and remember, I placed the order at 8:30. I went back in to clarify, and he became even more agitated, asked if I wanted the salads or not, and then walked away mid-conversation. Honestly, it was a very uncomfortable and unprofessional experience. We've tried to support this small business more than once, but this was the final straw. I'm all for supporting local, but customer service matters, too. Unfortunately, Marcello's New York Pizza won't be seeing us again. -- Jeff read more

The pizza looked interesting when I stopped in at 11:35am for lunch. I stood at the counter for 5 minutes. I saw two people in the back talking and 1 lady at the counter who was on the phone discussing DoorDash and how many people a pizza would feed. I was not even acknowledge as walking in even with a bell ringing when I opened the door. No nod, no I'll be right with you- no eye contact. After 5 minutes I decided that I'd eat somewhere else and I will never return to a place that doesn't care enough to see that I'm there. Great NY style pizza!! We happened to be near the plaza shopping and decided to try the new pizza place. Wow... really good pizza!! The NY pizza was flat with a delicious chewy crust, good sauce and perfect amount of cheese. There are a few small tables where you can sit for a slice, but it is more of a pick-up/ take-out place. Being originally from NYC I just had to try them out. Let me say this is extremely close to NYC. They have NYC Sicilian pizza and it was fantastic. Many in the area should like it as pizza out here is very pan pizza oriented. As for the regular pizza it was nearly spit on. Hopefully they stay around for a long time.
