This is a mediocre restaurant which is overpriced and has poor service. We went with two other couples and just to book they take a Euro 120 deposit which will be automatically deducted if you don't cancel 48 hours in advance ! We had the 8:15 sitting and after we got to the table we're informed the two main dishes we were interested in were no longer available. We ordered some alternatives including the chicken which was really over cooked and bone dry. The wine selection is very limited and the staff are not very familiar with the offerings The people who ordered the steak and fries said it was good ... but that's not exactly a difficult thing to do right The deserts were better ... but the creme brûlée was really cold ... as in straight out of the fridge and blow torched ... most good French places have some out and it's room temperature by the time it gets to the table ... a small thing but for the prices I'd expect the chef to pay attention to it. Basically for steak and chips they are pretty good but there are many better options which are less expensive and have better ambience read more

I can't say enough about this wonderful restaurant. I went to Dublin to celebrate my boyfriend's birthday and after a lot of research decided on Marco Pierre. I live in NYC so I know a good steak and have eaten and many wonderful restaurants but this was one of the best steaks I've ever had. I got the filet which was cooked to perfection with a side of the truffle parmesan chips (fries for you Americans) which were outstanding. Our waiter was friendly and attentive. Service was fast and they were very accommodating. They made my boyfriend's birthday very special! We will be back! read more

Atmosphere: We were sitting outside on the terrace, which was nicely enclosed by plants and glassed that we could barely notice the people walking on the pavement. They have comfortable wicker chairs. Service: The waiter was kind and efficient Food:. The beef filet literally melted in the mouth. Have been dying to go here for a while. Was really lovely food and you get what you expect from a known steak house. The early bird is great value. At 28 for a 3 course, you can't go wrong. Pate was nice and the steak was cooked how I liked. I was a bit disappointed with the chocolate dessert, but that could be a taste thing. I.e wanting more peanut flavour. The waiter was amazing though. So friendly and put a candle in my cake for my birthday. Nice touch and sang happy birthday in a really low voice. Was perfect. read more

Absolutely amazing experience. We intended on going to Featherblades but they couldn't accommodate us without a prior reservation so ended up here next door. I had the delmonico ribeye and my girlfriend had the center cut filet. She actually loved the delmonico. Wine, sauces and sides were great and excellent service. Highly recommend it. read more

This place was so great. The best meal I've ever had, at least as far back as I can remember. We stopped in on a saturday night after exploring Dublin all day and they were able to seat us. Three of us went with high expectations for the last night of our vacation. To be fair, we got a reservation at the last moment, but it was at a table that they must have added, in the middle of the hall beside the bar, and the acoustics were so poor that we spent the next hour yelling at each other and could not hear a thing. Two hours later, my ears are still ringing. It would have been better for them to tell us that they did not have a table, and we would have found another restaurant. We happened in here by chance with no reservations on a Saturday night. The service was professional and swift. My companion had a steak was good and I had the holiday special which was turkey. Most people can't afford to go to Marco Pierre Whites every week and reserve this restaurant for special occasions. But if you won the Lotto or your embezzling company funds, then perhaps you're a regular. This restaurant is probably one of the top ten in Dublin because of their amazing head chef who was trained by Marco. The atmoshpere inside reminds me of the TV show Hell's Kitchen. The menu is delicious because it's simple and beautifully prepared. A choice of foie gras, ribeye or fillet steak costs from 15 to 35 Euro and the meat doesn't come with salad. There's a bottle of wine for 220 Euro that has to be decantered when purchased. What should blow you away is the absolute professionalism of the waiters. Don't forget to tip big! read more

With a name like Marco Pierre White over the door you would expect something special from the get go and you get it in the form of the very professional and knowledgeable staff. The front of house staff are efficient and pleasant and very accommodating. The wait staff know the menu and wine list inside out and are great at suggesting dishes and orders and take and bring orders with wonderful style and manners! The food is excellent and cooked to perfection and the daily lunch specials are a snip at 13 euro each! The pork belly and meat pie are to die for! The wine list is good but a little on the expensive side, but you ca order by the glass which is great and not overly expensive. Went for dinner with a large group of sixteen, so ordered off if the group menu. I had the potted duck with peppercorns and sourdough, which was outstanding. There was a fine layer of duck fat on top, which proved to add a delightful creaminess to the duck spread. Also sampled the grilled asparagus with hollandaise, which was perfectly done. The entree I chose was the ribeye with bernaise sauce. The steak was nicely seasoned and delivered at the requested medium-rare. The sauce was a very nice compliment. The chips served with the entree were perfect for the dish, with a light crispness outside and a creamy inside. While I skipped dessert, many of my table mates chose the Eton Mess and raved about it. The ambience was busy and alive, very hip. The collection of celebrity photos typical for this type of restaurant. The whole vibe was young and comfortable. Despite the 'table' issue, I was invited to join a party here so I kept quiet about my previous issue. The food and service was ok , but when I approached the floor manager with a query/request he didn't seem to understand the request and made me feel I was the one that had a problem with understanding English. Wonderful service. The menu is not annotated with allergy information, so I paused upon entry and asked the host if their kitchen would be able to accommodate gluten free. I was assured that they'd be able to. Our server greeted us quickly and explained the host had informed her of my allergy and she'd be able to answer any questions that I had. Had a great late Sunday meal after a long day of tourist ing so we may not have been as patient as needed because my only negative thing was our lax ( but not terrible) service. It was after 10, they were probably tired too! Otherwise out steaks were delicious with our respective finishes, mine maitre de' (compound butter) and hers a tasty bordelaise. Too full for dessert, too bad ... I really wanted to try the raved about toffee pudding! Was there on a Friday night! So busy that you barely can hear the person next to you. We ordered 3 starters, 1 fresh asparagus, 2- prawn cocktail and some kind of baked cheese that smelled strong but tasted good All starts were good. For the main courses we had a ribeye which was cooked well done but in my opinion it was a bit burned. My order was the roast lamb with gratin. I always have my meat cooked medium and it didn't work very well with that order, each bite was chewy and the gratin needed more creaminess,, last main order was the fillet and it was the only edible one among all of us. It was cooked perfectly medium-rare as my friend likes it. For desserts we had a sticky toffee pudding and a creme brûlée and we enjoyed each bite of it! So delicious A star for the presentation of food, one for the starters and one for the desserts. To be honest I had very high expectations and it didn't meet what I was looking for in this place. Maybe I'll give it a try again. And see if anything will change read more

Myself and my boyfriend attended Marco Pierre White's on Dawson street on a Saturday night and we had a bad experience with our waiter. Aside from not listening to us and looking around the room when he was taking our order and speaking the bare minimum to us, when I asked him for water later on in the evening (after we had got our wine and our main course) he replied with "how many hands do you think I have?". That is not a joke and those were his exact words. I have to say I was shocked and felt it was quite rude as all we asked for was some water, a standard request in a restaurant. I really felt like this an unnecessary comment as we were not being difficult customers or anything like it. read more

Had previously posted a review about good and great experiences at MPW's. As we hadn't been in a while, my husband decided to try booking in to celebrate our anniversary, but was told there were no free tables until 9.30pm. A little too late, we decided to go somewhere else for the evening. At around 8pm, we were passing and said we would chance it, see if there might have been somebody cancelling etc. A waiter on the terrace area said sure no worries, and pointed at a table coming up soon. We were in no rush, so said we would wait. Whilst waiting, we were suggested another table which was almost impossible to get to with other tables VERY closeby. We said that we would keep waiting while the waiter cleared cutlery, and everyone seemed happy enough. After about 10mins waiting at the door, being pushed, pulled, shoved, we eventually got to sit down. Took off the coats, popped away our bags, took a breather and opened the menus. Then the waiter comes over, starts taking the menus back and says that we have to move as "somebody inside wants to sit at this table". We were obviously quite shocked at the abruptness, and obviously sensing this, a supervisor came over and very unapologeticly says" yeah, we're sorry". Both of us were absolutely incensed at their lack of courtesy, and really felt that they couldnt have cared less about us; other customers were also clearly taken aback at their manner, or lack thereof. Would definitely not recommend if you are looking to dine at a restaurant that values their customers. Would welcome any feedback MPW's may have, as we certainly didnt hear a whole lot last Friday. read more

Marco Polo would have been proud of the t-bone steak I had,cooked perfectly at medium rare with grilled mussels and coated in a mustard sauce.Service was pretty good,if not sometimes a bit slow.They have lovely new heaters outside that give great heat,not that we need them in sunny Ireland. read more

We loved it! Staff was super nice, friendly, funny and attentive. We had french onion soup and butternut soup to start which were both the best versions of those soups we've ever tried. Then the jus gras steak with pomme frittes and mushrooms and the salmon, both cooked perfectly. Dessert was raspberry sorbet and peanut butter tart. I'm in love with this restaurant! Oh my god! BEST STEAK IVE EVER HAD I went there one Saturday evening and it's the best decision going there ( always make a reservation). This was my second time here but I was delighted with the service the second time round rather than the first. The waiter was so pleasant and the meal was to die for. I could barley finish my main course. It's a tad bit expensive but it's worth it! They also have the early bird menu available but please if your a meat lover you have to go here! One of my favourite restaurants in Dublin. The staff are good.. It's a great place to go, have a nice meal and chat with friends or with your partner. I have never been disappointed with the staff, the service or the food. The steaks are cooked to perfection, Along with the grilled salmon. If you have room for dessert the peanut butter tart is very rich. The rice pudding is delicious as well!! I always say if your every going someone new I would alway recommend to stick to what you know and don't order something you don't usually as then you might be disappointed read more

I had a reservation here that I made over a month in advance. We wanted to come a bit earlier for our dinner and stopped by to inquire about it but were told we could not unless we took the table right by the door or a table outside. We opted to sit outside, since there were outdoor heat lamps and it seemed cozy but it was a terrible idea because I caught a cold from it since it was actually very cold even with the heated lamps. Aside from that, the steaks we got were ok only and wasn't as good as I had hoped it would be, given it was my husband's birthday dinner celebration and he is a big fan of steak. read more

Great desserts, starters and wine list. Whilst its famous for steak, it was ok. Not enough seasoning but it was tender. They were extremely accommodating and moved us twice to different tables on request and we had a great night. Will come back here anytime. Unfortunately I wasn't overly impressed with the Marco Pierre White Steakhouse and Grill. I visited for lunch with friends and had a goats cheese, beetroot and walnut salad which I didn't enjoy. It was basically a huge plate of raw goats cheese with very little else. It was disappointing. Although the ingredients seemed good quality the lack of taste let the dish down. I'm a fan of grilled goats cheese but not a massive plate of crumbled up, raw, very strong goats cheese. On a more positive note the wine and service were pleasant. I think this restaurant is over hyped as is often the case with 'celebrity chef' restaurants. read more

disclaimer: all my fam & friends swear that the food here is beautiful... Just not when I'm around. hopefully, you'll have better luck! --- me & this place just do not vibe. I've given this place a good few tries, but have never had a good meal here. Brutally overcooked steak (I usually go with medium-rare). Lamb roast piping hot on the outside, stone cold in the middle. Raw batter on fish & chips. Prawn cocktail that's 80% Rose Marie sauce. Rubbery duck confit... I could go on. That said, my fam & friends all really like this place, so it's worth giving this restaurant a try for yourself. Service has always been on point, even when lunch / dinner wasn't particularly enjoyable. I've sent food back a few times when it's particularly bad (raw fish, etc.) which I know is not really the done thing in Ireland. And despite my own embarrassment that they might one day recognize me & think I'm a crazy lady that just hates food, staff has always been very nice about it. I'm sure I'll be dragged here again in the future by fam & friends, here's to hoping my bad luck streak ends & I get to experience the beautiful food that everyone raves about. read more

Sweet potato soup was divine, risotto was exceptional with hints of pesto, oil, basil....

Went here with a few friends for an early after-work dinner. I opted for the 3-course Early Bird which at 28.95€ is really good value. Had the heirloom tomatoes and mozzarella to start, which was very nice, then a sirloin for main (5€ supplement for the steak) which was cooked to order and very tasty. The dessert was also very good - lemon curd and blackberry fool. To wash it all down, we had a lovely Australian Shiraz which, at 36€, was in line with average Dublin prices. Our waitress was really friendly and very attentive, but not in an overbearing way. I had mixed expectations coming here, but I was pleasantly surprised. Two thumbs up! read more

This was an excellent choice for dinner. While walking around we stumbled upon this gem. They were able to seat us at a terrace table even though it was a busy Saturday night without a reservation. The cocktails here are carefully crafted and the steak was cooked beautifully! The onion soup was hot, Rich and thick, the green salad was fresh and perfectly dressed. If we ever find ourselves in Dublin again we wouldn't hesitate to stop here. read more

I had a really lovely evening in this restaurant. I eat like a snail and we were chatting alot so I m sure the waiters wanted to push me out the door but to be fair they did not even though they may have walked by my table a few times more than usual, but the food and the wine and the service was really a nice experience. I ate lamb and it was cooked from fresh and took approx 20-30 minutes which I was well impressed about and when it arrived it had the mint already in the meal which was really a nice surprise and absolutely delicious as well. The starter was very well portioned with beetroot and carmelized walnuts and salad and it was absolutely delish especially with the lovely white wine we had. The smoking area outside where you can also dine is super cool and carpeted and very nicely done. read more
