From the folks at the pro shop, including Vincent who couldn't have been more friendly, professional and accommodating to Lauren, the golf pro who provided our family with the very best course/play lesson we've EVER had! If we lived in Pensacola we would be members just because of today's experience. We will sign up for more lessons the next time we're in town! Worst shape of any course in town. 90% of the greens are more patch than grass. I spent more time taking pictures of the carnage than putting yesterday. They should be embarrassed to charge more than $25 in the courses current condition. Frankly they should make temporary greens and start from scratch. read more

It's a solid course. John at the front was friendly and welcoming. I was more impressed with the service, reasonable prices, and the casual feel of the place, I've been to many courses where the workers are so snobby and extra formal for no damn reason, I didn't feel that here. They also have a decent range and putting green, bucket will run you around $6.50. The back nine could use more attention, a handful of greens were patchy and lumpy. The cart path could use some love as well, and it wouldn't hurt to put numbers in the tee off area. Worth checking out, I enjoyed my golf experience here and plan to go back. From the moment we stepped foot on the course, I could tell I was going to like it. When we got into the clubhouse the staff were incredibly kind, just nice people all around, since they all knew it was our first time visiting. Throughout the entire time they were checkin in or giving us free things like two free snacks or drinks, two free appetizers at the grille, or just saying hi. It was a total vibe and I was just so impressed by their customer service, even the golf cart girl was so sweet and it was her first day too (shoutout to Kayla!). We had a little bonding moment about this golf cart girl on tiktok lol. The course itself was a little confusing because the markers were missing from many of the greens, thankful for the map on the back of the score card, may be a little easier if they had those markers! We eventually got situated and I'm sure with more use, wouldn't be as confusing to get around. The greens were a little brown in some spots but overall a fun course. Lots of windy paths for the golf carts to drive on. The cart we got was great, fancier than some of the ones in our hometown in the twin cities. The total price was cheaper than expected! All in all, the staff again was outstanding. We ended up getting the pulled pork nachos and chicken tenders basket. Both food items were really good, nachos were a little spicy but great flavor. The chicken tenders were perfect and the fries had the best seasoning on them! Next time we're in town I can definitely see us coming back! This place has the highest prices and the worst greens in Pensacola. Stay away it is an absolute dump. They brag about having a girl on the front line who never shows up and then a bar that you passed twice on the back line, which is never open. The greens are unable. They have trenches and water messes everywhere. Stay away from this place. it is probably the worst experience in I have ever had and 53 and been playing since I was 7. I called the pro shop and tried to speak to Randy about this unacceptable course and he was nothing but a jerk. Again spend your money at scenic or or anything besides this place. Played this track a day before a two day event in Alabama. Staff were very friendly and knowledgeable. The clubhouse looked to be in transition to some other uses, but it did not affect our day. Course was in great shape and the pace of play was acceptable. Got paired up with a couple older members who made us feel like we were at our home course. It's in Great shape and everyone from the pro shop, grill area, course pro, and cart attendants are so friendly! Long Winded Brand New Review Time: Common Labor I have seen several reviews of the new restaurant at Marcus Point Golf Club, which is now Common Labor with head Chef Rusty Strain. A lot of our community has sampled Chef Strain's delish dishes from his food truck Rustyc Spoon and have also had the opportunity to enjoy his delightful dining experiences at the old Kingfisher. I am ecstatic Chef Strain has opened a finer dining establish in an area of town where a restaurant of this caliber is desperately needed. If tonight's dishes are anything like I have experienced before, Pensacola palates are in for a supurb treat. I absolutely loved the ambience of this new dining establishment. What a beautiful cozy vibe inside of this minimalist elegant white table cloth restaurant. I loved the fireplaces on the tvs, but also the open kitchen to watch the masters at work. The service here is absolutely wonderful with all of the staff helping one another. The craft cocktails here are very tasty. I personally ordered the blood orange mule and my other half had a wonderful old fashioned. I was unaware of how the menu worked here, but there is a set menu and you choose each course you would like. So tonight for appetizers, we indulged in the pan seared scallops and the spinach artichoke parmesan shrimp. The beautifully salted and seared sweet scallops were deliciously paired with sweet orange carrot puree and a phenomenal bacon jam. The amazingly creamy spinach artichoke rockerfellar base was topped with succulent garlic sauteed fresh shrimp. We tried one of each of the salads and I don't believe anyone makes a better Caesar dressing than Chef Strain. I wish he would bottle up and sell this phenomenal black garlic Caesar dressing. The Caprese was good also, especially with the apple balsamic reduction. For entrees, my other half tried the perfectly cooked and seasoned surf and turf. I was completely overwhelmed by the flavor of the wagyu tallow demi which was drizzled on the plate. The demi was the absolute perfect complement to the steak and also the parmesan mascarpone mashed potatoes. I ordered the fresh flakey Caribbean grouper which was a delicious light entrée accompanied with smooth sweet potato puree and a crisp sauteed kale veggie medley. This small dish allowed me to save room for the best course of the night...dessert. I couldn't tell you which one I enjoyed more, but the decadence of these desserts were the perfect ending to a perfect dining experience. The elegance of the creamy raspberry and chocolate mouse was a light way to indulge in the grand finale of the dining experience tonight; but if you wanted something a little heartier, the wonderful white chocolate raspberry bread pudding would guarantee to satisfy your sweet tooth. This years Master's event proven to be very disappointing. The flyer and Facebook announcements promised the Master's theme lunch buffet after the round of golf. But in the announcements before tee off they changed it to be an additional $24 and gave a 3rd drink ticket instead. Played a round earlier today with buddies and the course was immaculate. Very well maintained and fun to play. Newer golf carts with distance tracking and gps installed, very nice. Guys in the pro shop were nice to talk to as well. Definitely would recommend this course to a friend, especially for the price. read more

Point of view: wife, driver of the golf cart, spectator, photographer of my husbands swing so he can critique it. I don't know a lot about golf other than my favorite golfers are Jordan Speith and Phil Mickelson, but I do enjoy driving the carts and enjoying the scenery. This course was very nice and the carts were top of the line, they even have a USB cord so you can charge your phone. We visited on a Friday but it wasn't too busy. I enjoyed our day and experience. Also, the bathrooms were very nice and clean. Always important to the wives! read more

First off, I've been golfing here for a couple years now. Although there are ups and downs in the conditions of the golf course it's a fun track to play. The two stars I gave this review are for how well the course has been taken care of recently. But I cannot believe the staff they have here, uneducated in customer service. The gentleman behind the front desk needs to find a job outside of carrying a normal conversation with people. "Course Marshall"..... run a lap buddy The young man making food in the club house is yelling at his coworkers in front of guests. When my 11 year old and I showed up to play on April 17, 2020 at Marcus pointe golf course the lady running the clubhouse was very rude and was very adamant that my 11 year could not ride in the cart with me (because of covid-19). He would have to walk. Even though he lives with me and we rode together in the same car. She even went as far to say I would be cussing and yelling on the golf course because of the policy, so she stereotyped me in front of my son and the 5-6 other customers standing in line. Very unprofessional and arrogant to treat paying customers that way. I used to work there back in college and that would have never been ok to treat customers that way. To add to it...the course sucked in upkeep and maintenance. Manager was more professional but I would certainly get better employees at the front. read more

Decent course, poor members and staff, made the experience worse. A group of us golfed here on spring break and had a poor experience. We were disrespected multiple times, staff members were in a bad mood on multiple occasions. Our first day, we showed up just before tee time and a few of us were hungry, wanted to order breakfast really quick before we went to tee off. We were told we weren't allowed to get breakfast sandwiches from the grill because we were "too late". That same day a group of guys behind us blamed us for "not raking the bunker" and a staff member drove up to talk to us about it. The next day a group of old lady's complained to staff for "slow pace of play" even though we played a scramble, finishing 20+ minutes ahead of the people behind us. If you hadn't already heard, Marcus Pointe closed FOR ONLY 4 DAYS and is now up, running and getting better every day under the management of Stonebrook, LTD, which also owns Stonebrook golf course in Pace and Tanglewood golf course in Milton. Membership at Marcus Pointe gives you full golf priviliges at the other 2 courses! (all 3 courses for $130/month! You can't beat that). This is a hands-on group of golf professionals looking to make this the premier course in the area. The restaurant just re-opened (the Pointe Grille) serving great breakfasts and lunches (I just had the Cobb Salad !). VERY reasonable prices (about $4-$7 for breakfast; about $5 - $8 for lunch). The course is in good shape for winter, and this team will have it in GREAT shape quite soon read more

Staff is doing an exceptional job staying open and keeping everyone safe. Food from the grill is carry out only right now and the quality is still exceptional. Carts are sprayed down with a bleach solution and thoroughly cleaned when they are returned. This causes some delays during very busy hours, but is a necessary step. If having to wait for a cart is a problem for you, then you likely don't have the right temperament to be out on the course anyway. I hope they keep doing this even after the COVID issue is behind us. Course is in great shape and the warm weather is making it better by the day. No rakes in the bunkers and no divot mix on the carts but bunkers are groomed daily and are even better now than when there were rakes out there. Go figure. This is the best golf value in Pensacola! Hesitated writing this review so that Marcus Pointe would remain a secret, but they deserve the recognition. read more

We were never told that they were not giving rain checks. There was no sign. We hit our drives and before we got to our second shots they blew the horn. We returned to the club house to informed they would refund our money. Not even 9 holes worth. It cost our group $40 to hit one shot. They just stole our cash. We come down to the gulf coast ever year to play. This year we had booked 21 rounds of golf with them and they treated us this way. Beware if the weather is iffy you get screwed. read more
