I don't think I've been over to this theater and almost a decade. We used to go a lot when it was first open, but it's pretty far for me as a Saint Paulite. It was nice spacious clean. Nothing particularly notable, but they do have a decent selection of food and snacks. If you live in the area, I'm sure it's a fine place to go see a movie. I will say that See movies is still better on a large screen like they haven't Marcus than watching it on my home TV. If you like movies go to a theater like this one. We need to keep them open. read more

Really good place to go see movies with ample free parking. If you're part of their free club, you also get $6 movies on Tuesdays that come with free popcorn. Really nice staff and they always keep the theater clean. read more

Used to go this movie theater a lot when it was Icon but when other theaters introduced recliner chairs, Icon definitely became one of my least favorite theaters. When I heard Marcus was purchasing Icon, I was kind of excited however I recently came to see a movie for TC film fest & was very disappointed. Almost nothing has changed. Actually worse than what I remember. Concessions were a ghost town. I ABSOLUTELY hate that they use paper bags for the popcorn. Hearing people wrestling with the bags during the movie was annoying af! We also ran up to the bar prior to our movie. We had about 15 min. There was one bartender and they either hate their job or just terrible service. I get people have rough days that we don't know about and idk what it was but it was definitely something going on. We stood where there was an opening around the bar as there were a couple of people sitting up there. The bartender intentionally ignored us for over 10 min. We ended up socializing with other patrons about the lack of service and they noticed we were being ignored as well. When we finally got the chance to order our drinks, bartender took forever to make them. We closed our tab as soon as we could to try to make our movie on time. When we walked into the theater it was a horrible smell. Actually multiple smells going on. Seeing that the seats are still cloth and stained was also disappointing. Looks like they've never been cleaned, probably hard to clean them but definitely needs a deep cleaning. Seats lean back a little bit but definitely takes some pressure to keep it back otherwise it springs you back forward. I just had higher hopes, it was definitely a let down all around. read more

Honestly for the price this theater is fine. Located on the 2nd floor, Marcus West is a simple theater for your movie needs. I'm not expecting amazing vibes but it does the job. Price wise it is lower than other theaters and it shows. It's hardly crowded for movies that are popular which is nice. I guess the only complaint you can give it is that the seats are a bit dated in terms of comfort, but for the price point I don't think it was bad. Overall solid spot to watch a movie. read more

I could see this rating improving, but right now it's a just-okay theater. The Marcus chain took it over less than a year ago, and when I visited this weekend I noticed a lot of physical items that need repair or replacement. Things like non-working bathroom faucets and cheap, loose backs of seats. I suspect they are working on these things, and they might start to look like a more modern movie theater as 2025 progresses. They don't have reclining seats with footrests, but the seating is comfortable enough that I didn't remember that was a thing until I started writing this review the next day. One thing they're proud of is their large spread of food offerings. Like other Marcus theaters, they have burgers, fries, pizza, chicken wings & nuggets, mozzerella sticks, and sandwiches. You can order them in advance on the app and pick them up at your specified time, which I definitely recommend. I have found that most of that hot food is of average quality despite movie theater prices. I honestly think the pizza is quite good. The service deserves a mention. Every time I come here, I am greeted with sincere friendliness and I see people working hard to keep things running smooth. I used to manage movie theaters and this is what I'd want to see. I'll be back for sure, but I hope they'll invest in repairs, and maybe close the food-quality/food-price gap somehow. read more

What a treat and great way to start the holiday season with a Christmas movie. There was even a Santa reunion with over 50 Santas that came to watch the movie as well. Their concession stand had everything from candy, popcorn, drinks to cheeseburgers and pizza. The seats were very comfortable, the sound was on par and quality of picture fantastic. This theater is surrounded with a nice outdoor mall that has restaurants and stores to peruse before or after a movie. I highly recommend coming here for a night out. read more

Went here for an advanced screening of The Red One. The screen was great and huge and their candy selection was quite nice. Not surprisingly, concessions were super expensive. I wanted to get food, but it was way too much money. The lobby and concession area are not set up super well and it ends up being a bit of a bottleneck problem when there is a large group of people. The seats were a little uncomfortable, but I will say the aisle space and foot room was probably the best I've seen. When people left, there was enough room that you don't have to stand up to let them through. The staff were nice too. All in all, not a bad theater, but not the best one either. read more

My husband and I went to see the advance screening of Red One. I've been to many advance screenings and this one was chaotic because there were two different groups, but at the time, it was one big line crowding the ticketing/lobby; but that's their organizational issue. It was fun to watch the many santas saying ho-ho-ho, Merry Christmas every once in a while. The elementary school children loved it! MOVIE/SCREENING ROOM: The room that Red One took place has dolby. It seems like there is an upstairs and downstairs seating. Upstairs is reserved for VIPs. My husband and I ended up near the front of the screen. The screen was gigantic. Despite where we sat, I did not feel like I was straining my neck to look up. (We sat in front of the accessibility/disability area). CONCESSION STAND: I ordered my sodas, a popcorn, and a bag of candy on the Marcus app to be picked up at 6:55PM. I was very confused to know where to get my order. AMC Roseville has a designated area that says "pickup" off on the side. So I stood in line waiting. There was another movie-goer who ordered on the Marcus app, and also waited in line. I noticed that there was an ICEE dispenser, but the pricing for the ICEE was not listed on the Marcus app or at the concession stand. But I do gotta say that they offer more food items compare to AMC Roseville like sliders, chicken tenders, and more. They also have alcoholic drinks for Gladiator II and Wicked. Oh, and I gave me a tray to carry my 2 fountain drinks, 1 popcorn, and 1 bag of candy, which I don't get at AMC Roseville, so I appreciated that aspect. PARKING: There is a free parking ramp that is connected to the theater. Seems to be lots of space. I give it 4 out of 5 stars because of ordering on the Marcus app and had to wait in line anyway. Overall, not a bad movie theater. I used to go to Marcus Cinema in Oakale before I moved to a neighborhood that has AMC. The West End seems to be in a good neighborhood. Parking was good. I like that it was attached to the Marcus West End on the third floor. read more

My first time at this theatre located in Saint Louis Park. It was a busy movie since it was a new movie. Parking was tough but eventually several floors up it was found and it's free, so there's that. The pricing for popcorn, icees, and candy were very expensive, like many movie theaters, but this place allows you to butter your popcorn yourself and we were able to get drink refills. Seating can get busy and hard to find so I suggest watching your show a few days after the initial release. The chairs were okay, not super comfy but not terrible either, and bathrooms were clean which is a plus. read more

Had an opportunity to see the advanced screening of Wicked on 11/17/24 with some of the media in the Twin Cities. Some of my highlights include the pre-reserved seats with name tags, no previews, clean theater, great sound system and friendly staff. The check in process was seamless and it was fun to interact with a few folks before the show began including hitting up the photo shoot space which had a wand for Glinda and a broomstick for Elphaba. Pricing for concessions seemed to be on par to other theaters as a water bottle was about $5. Some things that I didn't love include the West End shops being snug right before the theater leading to extra walking and shared ramp parking with other shopping venues. Additionally there were no reclining chairs which was a bummer as I love putting my feet up. I would certainly come here for more advanced screenings but it's not my #1 choice for the parking situation and location for me personally. read more

This was my go-to theater. The restaurant and bar, while having just a mediocre menu, it still a nice place to hangout before the show. The VIP seating area in the balcony is fantastic with not a bad seat in the upper section. I had just been to see the Thunderbolts. After not having been to a movie for a long time, I bought my tickets and raced to the theater, excited to be in my seat for the show. I was surprised when I got there that the seats and the surrounding area were filthy. To be honest didn't want to sit in the seats or touch anything. It was that bad. I was the only one in the VIP section, so I looked for a different seat, but they were all nasty. Like they hadn't been cleaned in weeks. The floors were clear. It's not like there were popcorn and drink containers lying around, but the seats and drink holders needed a good cleaning. Popcorn grease was smeared everywhere, and just an overall sense of "yuck" to every seat. I know some level of mess is to be expected when you have a place that is open to humans, but this was exceedingly bad. I am going to find a new theater to go to. Which is a bummer. They pick & choose when they close there kitchen it's different times everyday!! Their refund policy is terrible especially after getting there & the concession & kitchen are closed before 8:00! What a dump. I know it was a big movie weekend, but the staff was completely overwhelmed. The lobby was covered in ice and popcorn. There were piles of popcorn on the floor behind the counter. Out of bottled water and they stopped serving everything but popcorn by the time I got to the counter. The young man reach all the way down to the bottom of the bin a got me a big bag of crumbs and seeds. Half the urinals in the men's room were out of service and the restroom looked and smelled like a truck stop. there were no soap, paper towels, or hand dryers either. Would not recommend. read more

I've just had one of the most awful experiences tonight. Not only did the butter machine basically exploded all over the ground,and the whole food area was a total mess, the staff is so unprofessional. I fell in the puddle of butter because there was no caution signs and it blended into the floor. I slid right into the counter and wrecked my shoes and shirt and smashed my elbow SO HARD. My popcorn was basically on the ground. When I asked for help I received a large plastic bag, for what? I don't know. I can't make this up. Not a single person asked if I was ok. When I went back up to the counter to explain what happened all that was said was you could've gotten a refill. I'm disappointed. read more

This theater was once the envy of theaters in Minneapolis. It's now old and tired. New owners have not kept pace with basic maintenance necessary. It is tired and worn lacking needed updates to keep it fresh. Seating is worn and uncomfortable. Bathrooms are showing wear. Some of the faucets don't work at all, others work but spray water all over you and the counter. Very disappointing after coming to this theater since it opened. Came to see Wicked. Granted this is opening weekend but people in the movie industry should know they need more staff to handle the number of people. Lines are long and slow! And only two registers open to take orders. Totally out of bottled water and will not give out a soda/pop size cup for water. It's a three hour movie! You think people eating popcorn are going to be good with an 8 oz cup? This place needs to get it together!! Customers expect better for the prices you charge. read more

Wanted to take my child to see Wolverine vs Deadpool. They said my 9 year is not a kid & I need to pay full price. I said why, what is kid age to yall? They said 12 and under. So I said ok she's 9 which is less than 12. The manager said I need to pay the adult price for her since I want to watch a rated R movie. I asked to see the policy. they had one up that said no kid allowed without an adult for rated R just like any other theater but no where does it say that I need to pay the adult price. The manager said even though it's not in writing I need to pay. She added that she wasn't lying to me. I told them publish every component of the policy if they'd like ppl to follow it. She said well it's only $1 more but I didn't like their vibe so I just left without watching. I guess being passive aggressive was more important than revenue. I learned quickly why every theater was full but this one was empty. But maybe they saved me from showing my kid the wrong marvel movie? read more

I am deaf. When a new release comes out Marcus West End advertises that an Open Caption of that movie will be played on Sunday following the Friday release. I will be lucky if that happens every weekend. They haven't even been open but a couple of months and it's been a huge disappointment. The manager offers me the little close caption box instead. I can go anywhere and use that. Also have you ever sat thru a 2 hour movie with that? Pain in the $%!! It's so sad Marcus took over this. I doubt I'll be back. I even joined the club and when I went to the theater they asked I was a member. I said yes and they asked for my card. I said I joined online and they said I had to email the company to get one but they would use my phone number this one time. I have nothing good about Marcus except they kept 2 of the original managers. Why did West End Icon leave.. they were the best at treating people with disabilities. Marcus is not. read more
