WOW!!! I honestly had no idea what to expect. I loved the decor inside that had old movie posters. The staff and owner are very friendly. The theater is clean. They have an interesting seating arrangement for the movie. It's just like the sign says. It's a movie theater mixed with a type of restaurant. There are QR codes to scan for the menu when you sit down. I will be back again soon read more

Not sure why there are so many low scoring reviews? Is this place super fancy? - No but if you don't have super high expectations you will enjoy yourself! Tickets are only $3 per person, and you can buy them during the movie. They have a full menu of drinks (even alcohol) and food. The food isn't great but if you stick to the basics they are fine. I also like that it is more or less casual and relaxed and a great place to bring kids. read more

Came for a holiday party. It seemed super affordable and is a unique and fun experience! Lots of options for films, food, and beverages. Staff members were kind and helpful. Things that could be improved or aren't ideal: facilities could use updating or just better maintenance. The tables were sticky, decor is pretty outdated, and toilet paper was missing in about half of the bathroom stalls. Clean up in the kitchen was also pretty loud and kind of distracting. Food took about 30-40 minutes to get to us. My root beer was missing the sweetener. But the buffalo chicken sandwich was pretty tasty! I would be interested to return again for a normal movie experience to see if things improve. read more

I have been to Cinema Grill many times and it's hit or miss. Today was a good experience because this was the first time they took our order before the start of the movie. Food is ok and traditional of a bar and grill menu. I had nachos and the others got Buffalo chicken sandwich with waffle fries and seasoned sour cream. My kiddo got BLT with fries. My nachos were huge and I would have taken a picture but the movie had started. I think they upgraded their sound system because it was much better than I remember. If your a soda drinker be forewarned they have generic soda except Coke and Diet Coke. Parking is abundant. read more

Husband and son went last night to see Fall Guy (don't recommend it), anyways. When they walked in to the front door they waited at the ticket booth for over 10 mins with no one coming to help them. Since they already paid online for their tickets they decided to just walk into the movie. Service was just ok of what they had. Like I said the movie wasn't good so they decided to leave early. After my husband walked around the whole place for 20 mins and even walked into the kitchen to find someone to pay his tab they decided to leave. I mean no one was to be found anyway. So I get a call and email demanding for the bill to be paid for which my husband was trying to do and is planning on taking care of. Not worth the hassle for cheap tickets. read more

We had a great time! The tickets were super cheap, and it was totally worth it. The waitress was nice. You could sit wherever you want. Now let me get to why I gave this place three stars. First of all, the screen was real dark. I was pretty disappointed by how dark and dim the movie was. That was my biggest disappointment. Secondly, it was quite difficult trying to figure out how to pay. We found out from other people that you find yourselves seating and then the server comes to your table to take your order. There was no sign, reception desk, nothing. It was very troublesome after the movie was over. The waitress never arrived to our table again, so we wandered through the cinema trying to figure out how to pay. Eventually we decided to leave cash at our seating area. Lastly, one of the people in my group ordered a lemon drop martini. She said it was the worst lemon drop martini she ever had, barely tasting any alcohol in it. Went to try this place since we won free movie tickets at our school bingo. Place is small but I was fairly surprised by what's inside. They have 3 theater rooms and a very tiny arcade area. I liked how the theaters are set up and you pick your own seats for movie showings. It does have typical bar food but compared to what you get at the movie theater I felt like the prices were great. Pitcher of pop for about $5 popcorn $6 and they have different flavored icees as well. We went for a fishbowl drink $9 and a beer for $3. Steak bites were really good and flavorful. Admissions were only $4 adult and $3 for kids. We are planning to go back. read more

Its been a couple of years since i last visited Cinema Grill. Global pandemic and all that. Used to attend movies or comedians about once per year. Always had an okay experience in the past. Things have changed. Last night the comedians were good. The wait staff was good. The food was okay. The trouble is (from my perspective), that management has changed the business model. We looked into buying tickets on line 2 hours before the show but saw they would be adding a 6$ service charge to the 34$ (2x 17$) comedy show at check out. Yes, we know this is not uncommon for on line ticket sales. We thought that service charge was 'high' so opted to take our chances and get tickets at the venue. Upon arrival, the front box office was un-manned. We proceeded to the theatre and had no problem getting seats. Apparently the waitress handles adding the ticket cost to our bill. We ordered drinks and food, (if you want water you will be charged 1.50$ for bottled water). Food, drinks, service were good enough. Here's the rub. At the end when presented with the bill, we saw a 6$ service charge was applied, even though we had not ordered tickets on line. The waitress stated that was how it is done. This felt like a hidden charge. A rip off to milk more money from the customer. Why not just state up front that tickets are 20$? And then you know how tipping has become ridiculous?... the recommended tip amounts shown at the bottom in case you cant do the math on your own? Of course standard procedure is to tip on the service for food and drink. Not at Cinema Grill though. The 'recommended' tip at the bottom of our bill (in addition to the food and drink) also factored in the cost of the tickets, the rip off service charge, the tax, and the credit card usage fee. I've never seen anything like it. We tipped 20% on the food and drink. The surprise service fee and accounting tricks with the bill really left me with a screwed over impression. I will think twice before i go back to Cinema Grill. read more

We had our family group Christmas party there! Cheryl, and the other party planners helped it go so smoothly! Kids ages from 7-75 enjoyed the movie, pizza and root beer floats. Our waitress made everything so easy. We will be back again next year for our Christmas party! And, if my nieces and nephews have there way, we will be back many times in between! read more

Who doesn't love a cheap theater!! Tickets are cheap and it's the movies right after they leave theaters and before thy come out on DVD. But I just love cheap theaters. I've been coming here since I was little. Solid food, solid prices (movie yes, food it's a little high...) & nice facility. Staff is always friendly and provide great service. This is one of my designated 'date night' spots for my boyfriend and I. We get two movie tickets for cheap. Then getting food during the meal is always a plus. We always get a pitcher of pop and either the waffle fries, or/and the margarita flat bread/pizza. Also, the seasoned sour cream is amazing!! Prices are a little high, however I remind myself that I'm seeing a super cheap movie and I don't feel as bad about the price. Service is a little slow, but there aren't too many people covering each theater, (usually 1 server) and food is either out in 5 minutes, or half way through the movie (but we also had our order taken late, so that might have affected the timing). However, the food is always fresh, so my guess is it's just how many order are ahead of it. Great for kids and adults alike. I recommending ordering before the movie starts, however sometimes you get let into the theater late once previews have already started.. Overall, it's a fun place that puts a twist on movie theaters. I recommend it to anyone! read more

Went on another date w/ the BF here on Tuesday. We purchase a few Groupons a month or so ago, and knew we'd have no problem using them. There was no hassle w/ the Groupon--they have it clearly posted at the front counter to redeem your voucher there. They take your admission price (just $2 on Tuesdays) out of the $25 voucher and give you a coupon for the remaining amount to give to your server. We arrived a few minutes late to see The Social Network, but had no trouble finding good seats. It was busier than normal--don't know if it's because it was because of the Tuesday deals or the Groupon, but I was happy to see it, because we love this place!! Service was fast, and uninterruptive as usual. We had the mini corn dogs for an app, and they were very tasty and perfectly prepared. I tried the italian beef sandwich dipped w/ hot peppers, which was full of flavor. If you're a fan of Chicago style italian beef, you would love it! The BF had the polish sausage, which was really well priced even with a side of waffle fries (under $9). He seemed to enjoy it as it disappeared quickly. This place is a fun concept; we still enjoy going. But the last time we went, we felt ripped off by the food prices. The food is NOT good quality, but the prices would have fooled me. Boyfriend always wants popcorn when we see a movie, but a "large" here is actually the size of a small anywhere else, and costs $6. Pizza is mediocre but costs about $18-20. What irked me was when we asked if we could have a pitcher of water, or just two glasses, we were told they don't do that, but offered a bottle of water for $1.50. Sodas are $2.25 and they don't do refills. The cheap tickets ($4) and the experience of being waited on while you watch a movie probably makes up for the overpriced food, but it still makes me cringe to spend so much on this stuff. Next time I will probably bring my own bottled water in my purse and go before or after dinner so I can just get apps. Another thing to note is that on Tuesdays, tickets are only $2 and they have some deals on food as well ($3 popcorn and pizza slices, $1.50 sodas, $3 beer, wine, and rails). Wednesdays are "wing night" - 60 cents per wing makes a good late-night bite or addition to your movie snacks. Overall, Cinema Grill is still a chill date night. The movie ticket prices can't be beat. I've heard the stand-up comedy is fun too. Stay away from the restaurant side, Outtakes - it's the same crappy, overpriced food, without the novelty of getting to zone out to a movie while you eat it. read more

You know that scene from America's Next Top Model, where Tyra yells at the wannabe top model, Tiffany, "I was rooting for you! We were all rooting for you!"? That's how I felt about Cinema Grill. Sure, it was a little rough around the edges, but I really foresaw a nice celebratory evening. How better to celebrate an anniversary than to watch a horror movie? Sadly, the whole endeavor turned horrific. "Seat yourself," proclaimed the sign at the ticket window. So we did. We shared the theater with a mother and daughter, also eager to watch a film. And no one came--not to take our food order or drink order or allow us to purchase tickets. This would be fine, except that, as the film began, the shitty PA system kept playing shitty Bon Jovi from the shitty radio. About three minutes into the film, when we realized it wasn't some avant-garde art piece, I tried to find an employee. I failed. This was a ghost town. So we went next door, to Outtakes. And what an outtake that was. The bartenders seemed unperturbed when we informed them of the issue. One townie patron (who may have been employed there?) urged us to hang at the bar and have a Natty Ice or some such swill. That's when we left, our smizes long since erased. read more

What a fun concept =) I admit, I was a newbie to the concept of such a place until just last week, I thoroughly enjoyed eating in a comfy booth while watching "Jurassic World" =) Movie prices = $ ($4!), and food = $$. Service was nice, food tasty. We had the boneless chicken wings with the "Buffiyaki" sauce (yum!), the Buffalo Chicken Sandwich, and a "build your burger" burger. Unlike a lot of places, ordering my burger "medium" here at the Cinema Grill resulted in a "medium" burger - it was good =) The physical space is clean, but definitely not anything fancy (or nearly so). If this won't bother you, you'll be good. Additionally, I'm not sure how each screen room is, but the room we were in for "Jurassic World" had 3 (or 4, can't remember) tiered levels. At the back end of each tiered level are the forward-facing booths with round tables, and a few few in front of that at the front end of the tiered level is a counter that runs along the whole width of the room with chairs behind it (except for the bottommost level I believe). Essentially, it's possible that if you choose to sit in the comfy both, someone may end up sitting at the counter in front of you, and if they're tall enough, they'll slightly block your view. The other attendees seemed to be quite cognizant of and courteous about this, though, and we didn't have anyone blocking out view. My husband and I will definitely go again =) read more

Went there on Saturday night to use the groupon that we bought a little while back. We chose to watch Due Date, and OMG it was sooo hilarious. I would have given 5-star for the movie theater alone. It actually didnt look so grand outside, but the low ticket price (4 each for adult, and just 2 on Tuesday) made up for the skimpy exterior. The movie theater was actually kind of weird inside. It was like a lecture hall with office/ computer-style chairs, but it was very nice and clean, and the chairs were not too close together, so it was quite nice and comfortable. The movie screen was a decent size .. not spectacular big, but nice and big enough. The sound system was also not bad. Overall, the movie watching experience was good. The servers were pretty nice. They were quick, quiet, and didnt interrupt us at all that much. However, the food though was pretty disappointing. We ordered the waffle fries, which was ok. My bf ordered the chicken bacon ranch wrap with slaw on the side, and it was just ok. My order was Chicago style Italian beef sandwich. I ordered it wet because I thought they would bring the au jus for me to dip myself, but it was already dipped in there and it was really soggy, and cold. I guess it was partially my fault because I didnt ask the server. I would definitely go back for movies and drinks, but not for food. read more

It would b e as good as it ets if it had a better run of movies, like first run and/or special showings of classics (like the Willow Creek theater has), but I love the cinema grille. Admission is cheap, food is decent, seating is comfortable, and in addition to beer (including Surly), they now offer real booze! Cocktails are on the steep side, but I would recommend the fruity "cinema grill punch" ($7.99). One bit of advise, besides getting there early to get a nice spot and put in your order before the movie starts, would be to plan ahead on your ordering for the durration of the film because after you get your stuff the servers don't always come back for awhile, and are hard to flag down in the dark, should you need something. They do offer pitchers of pop & beer, and mega-sizes of the specialty cocktails, which are wise if you like to keep your whistle wet. The taco salad is good, but in my opinion absolutely needs twice as much salsa as it's served with, so I always ask for extra salsa right away. Sometimes they have specials & events ($2 Tuesdays, comedy shows, Vikings games) going, so it's wise to check their website if you're interested. It's very family friendly and also a good meeting spot, with the large two part lobby. one side has nice furniture, and the other has arcade games. They also rent out for parties and presentations, and parking is never an issue. It's a pretty good place! read more

The total cost of food, beer, movie, tip and tax for 3 adults was $72; that works out to be $24 per person which isn't bad at all. We visited New Hope Cinema Grill last Sunday because it was the only movie theater showing the movie we wanted to see. I was pleasantly surprised; based on things I'd heard, I expected this place to be a dump. Actually, the theater was clean and inviting, with numerous arcade games in the lobby; fun movie posters in the hall on the way to the showrooms; and ample seating. The shows are second-run, but you only pay $4 to get in. And it's refreshing to be able to have alcohol and an actual meal with your show. However, I think if I really wanted to pay attention to the movie, I'd probably see it elsewhere (the servers coming in and out are a bit of a distraction). And while the service was quite good, the food was a bit overpriced, and the quality of the food was just OK. I think in the future I'll stick to a glass of cabernet and a box of Milk Duds, and I'll be a happy camper. read more

We used to enjoy frequenting this establishment - at least until we found out how poor the customer service is. They do not list their movie times in the paper. On the day that we want to go the movie times were incorrect on their website. We tried to call their box office. The recorded message was for the previous week's movies. We could not get a live person to answer the phone. Their website states that the best (and quickest) way to get in touch with them is to email them. So I did. They didn't respond that day so we didn't go. We could have went at another time in the week, but they never responded! My husband posted a message to their facebook page and they deleted it. He posted another thinking maybe his first post didn't go through (although I had seen it posted). They deleted it again. At this point we will not return. I will not give any more money to them when they could obviously care less about their customers experience. I hope if you decide to go that you don't have any issues because surely if you do they will not be resolved. read more

Regardless of the semi-sketchy strip mall where this place is located, the New Hope Cinema Grill is loads of fun! A group I belong to regularly hosts events here, and it is a wonderful space for large groups of people! They have a wide variety of menu options that can be served buffet style (I've had steak, chicken, and tacos here at various events), you can decorate how you like, they have cash bar capabilities (cards accepted), and you can use the big screen for powerpoints, pictures, or videos as you so choose. They have even created customized cocktails! I have yet to go and see a film here, but I'm sure it is a great experience, and I plan to experience that aspect of this place soon! read more

I don't know that I ever would have known this place exsited it it weren't suggested by a friend of mine. It is located in an old strip mall by an Arc thrift store. I was all about the idea of having hot food and beer delievered to me during a movie. I decided to check it out last night for a 7:30 showing of Eagle Eye. It was either that, a cartoon or High School Musical 3. Beer or no beer I couldn't have survived a bunch of kids singing and dancing. We arrived a few minutes before the movie and there were only four other people in theatre, granted it was a Wednesday night. The waitress was prompt and brought our food out quickly. They also have specials such as half off pitchers on Wednesday, which I gladly ordered. The waitress doesn't really interupt much, but if you are someone who hates talking during a movie, you may not like this type of theatre. Not that the patrons were talking much, but the waitress takes your bill while the movie is still on. I don't know if that is typical or if it was because we were at the last showing for the night. I have a tiny bladder, so the only bummer about drinking a pitcher of beer during a movie, is not being able to pause to use the restroom. read more

Fantastic for kids movies. Comfortable office-style chairs, very good service and a decent casual dining menu. Overall cost was very reasonable. Probably a good choice for college dates as well. Best of all it was just different, a nice break from the same old thing. Be prepared that the ticket booth does not take credit cards, a problem if like me you rarely carry much cash (you can use plastic to pay for your food). I use to go to this place every Tuesday for 2$ admission and you may ask how can they afford to do that?! Don't worry they can after the average price per plate is about 10$ each and 2$ each movie tickets it's about as much as going to a movie theater. that's only on Tuesdays other days it's like 7$ I believe. This is a great place for a dinner and a movie with the kids. What a perfect way to kill 2 birds with one stone when you're on a time crunch. Wished they still had their potato skins though.
