My experiences with Mardon have been so wonderful and I highly recommend using them for anything related to Jewerly. My first experience was looking into changing out my diamond that was chipped. I didn't know much about diamonds so when they first quoted my the diamond I was wanting, I thought to myself "that is about what I was expecting the price to be". BUT what I loved was after I said "ok" she suddenly realized she quoted me wrong (she quoted too high!) She then adjusted her quote to a lesser price. I thought that was honorable and showed integrity. She could've kept the price the same and made more money but she was more worried about be fair and honest! Love it! I just went to them to get an appraisal on my dad's jewelry. They appraised everything at a good price and I decided to sell my dad's gold bracelet. I agreed on their price but thought I was not getting a good deal. I have not ever sold jewelry before. The person their said the melting value of any piece is not as high grade gold when it is melted down and they send the piece out. He took approximately 48% of the value of the bracelet. I went to Jurupa coin and jewelry to trade in some dimes. I explained to them what happened. They said I should have brought it to them. They only take 20%. LESSON LEARNED! read more

My mom was always going to one and typically the owners retired and their shops are closed now this one's great, because they fix things but they also sell things on consignment. I'm giving this business 5 stars with a caveat -- be sure you follow up with them if they are doing work for you. They are EXTREMELY busy, and it's just best if you stay on top of your job. If you stop in here the staff is very helpful and informative. They sold us a lovely anniversary ring (vintage) and when I suddenly lost it, they were right there with condolences, and an idea. Since they sold it to me and appraised it, they had plenty of pictures, and would re-make it for me if that was what I wanted. I did and we set on the quest on May 20, when I made a down payment. I told them I had a deadline of June 22, which was my anniversary. At first they were very attentive and sent me drawings, which I asked for some changes, and supplied another photo, and they quickly made some beautiful adjustments. This was Saturday June 11. I approved the drawing, but we had some miscommunication about the size of the replacement diamonds, so I went in to chose those, on June 14. I haven't heard from them since. I finally got word last week it would be in this week, and I delayed this review to see the work. The ring is in, and I'm BLOWN AWAY by how beautiful it is! In the end, what I need from a jeweler is beautiful work, and I got it so they get 5 stars despite what I feel is an area of development in good communication. Honestly they are so much better in person if you talk to them, and if you call or text they will get back to you when they know, but I like to hear, "we don't know but we'll get back to you as soon as we do." It turned out they didn't meet the deadline because the jeweler needed another tool to do the ring right, and he had the same difficulty with sourcing it as we are all having with shipping these days. I wanted a "second opinion" on a jewelry appraisal for insurance purposes. My insurance company recommended Mardon because they had used them before and had a very good experience. I knew before I went there that Mardon was located in a very suburban, but upscale, shopping center. Not a "diamond mart" which would have been my desire. But their store front was professional and selection of jewelry on display quite impressive and diverse. Before accepting my diamond rings to be appraised they first gave them a good cleaning AND examination. They did this not only for me but also for them. They did not want any misunderstanding of the pieces I was having appraised. They also wanted to establish reference appraisals as they also insure them during the appraisal process! Very professional and I was impressed. Jim Sweaney was the gemologist that appraised our rings. But there are actually two more certified gemologists on premise. You don't see that kind of depth often. Not at a diamond mart let alone a jewelry store in a suburban shopping center. I was more impressed. Jim confirmed the cost of the appraisals before accepting the rings. He also gave me an estimated timeframe to complete. The price was very reasonable and exactly as quoted. He even was able to complete my appraisals faster than estimated, just overnight! And in the process doing appraisals they ensure all stones on your rings are secure. When I picked up the rings Jim stepped me through the details of the appraisals, how he did it, and the support resources he used. He provided me with a detailed appraisal for each ring complete with very closeup pictures. Very thorough. While I did not buy any additional jewelry, Mardon offers a wide selection of traditional, modern, estate, and even some "edgy" jewelry for those that might want a lot more "bling bling" appeal. They have some diamond rings that have spinning circular settings. Very hard for me to describe but I have never seen anything like them! I was very satisfied with everything about Mardon. And fyi, I used their appraisals with my insurance company ... based on the quality and thoroughness of their appraisals, not the appraised values. Understand that the value of your keepsakes can change, plus and minus. And insurance updates are good things to have done. read more

I went in to buy a bracelet i saw on the website today. I was asked by the sales clerk if I needed help. I said I saw two gold tennis bracelets on your website and described them both. I said I only see one here asking, "was the other sold?" The sales clerk could not have been any ruder making a big deal about the question trying to prove me wrong by saying there were never two gold bracelets on the website. Thing is i had taken screenshots of both bracelets to compare. Why she reacted this way to the question defies logic. Perhaps they listed the same bracelet twice; not a big deal to say. They answered my questions and never pushed me to buy it. I also noticed a ruby ring I loved. They knew i loved it but still never pulled the pushy salesman approach. We went to Mardon Jewelers on the recommendation of the reviews here for an appraisal on some jewelry. The staff was very friendly and helpful in explaining the process and suggesting a company for jewelry insurance. They said the appraisal would take one day, but they finished it later in the afternoon on the same day we brought it in! Also, relative to some other reputable jewelers in the area, the appraisal cost much less. On picking our jewelry up, the staff went over each piece individually and explained EVERYTHING that was in the report. They also said they keep the report on file in case we ever need another copy. My Fiancé and I looked for a place to have my engagement ring designed. My Fiancé wanted a small local jeweler to design it, someone we could continue to go back to over our years. I wanted to get the most for our money. He suggested Mardon Jewelers; I assumed that because it was located next to the Mission Inn it would be way overpriced. I talked my Fiancé into going to Jared's to price check. Not only did it feel like a car dealership, they quoted me over a thousand dollars more for lower quality diamonds than Mardon. Mardon really listened to how I wanted my ring designed. They did a CAD drawing of the ring and it turned out it looked better in my head than when it was drawn out. I felt bad asking them to change the design I had asked for but they were so happy to do so and just wanted to make sure I would be happy with the end result. The next CAD drawing was perfect. If you want to not see your jewelry for two weeks, and still pay full price, and get attitude from the employees, then this is the place to get work done. I was so excited to get engaged, but my fiancé couldn't where the ring I got because it needed to be resized. We were going to shop around at few places and living downtown we decided to go to Mardon first because its at the Mission Inn and everything is first class there. When we were told that it would take five days for the ring to be resized we were not cool with it and were about to go try someplace else. The guy working at the front desk sensing we were about to back out then told us that it would be ready sooner than that and we had no worries. We signed the papers and came back the day the guy said it would be ready. It wasn't ready and they told us that it takes five business days and so it would be ready in two days and they would call us. Three days went by with no phone call so I finally called back. The lady on the phone said that there gold smith was on vacation and that it wouldn't be ready for another week. I then told her how upset I was with the service and she offered no apology, no comforting words, no discount, no I hope we can retain your business, she just said your very welcome when I sarcastically thanked her for all that there store had done. Nobody wants to wait two weeks to get a ring resized especially when you first get engaged and you have no ring to show anyone.
