Appointment based and specialized in an upscale edgier vibe, the entire team of hairdressers, stylist and colorists is incredibly talented (and cool). I have seen a few of them in action, including Jess, Angelique, Viper, Georgia, Maeve and of course Lydia and Marylle who have worked on my hair personally, and the results have always been remarkable and have looked stunning on everyone i've had the pleasure to see them work their magic on. I've gotten my color done by Lydia and it was an incredible experience, she's great at what she does as well as very fun to talk to. Owned by Marylle, a queer woman from Holland, who is a master at her craft and an artist with the razor, who I've cut my hair with every time i've gone in for a haircut, and she has never once missed in what will look good. Have left looking extremely chic and to be honest, just hot, when I have gone in for a haircut. It's definitely a place that people who have a little bit of spunk in them will love. It will resonate with those who like or have a more avant-garde, pure rock, edgier upscale vibe or are drawn to it. Although they are undeniably great at what they do and can rock simple and more toned down haircuts, colors and styles, the elevated edge is where they truly shine. This salon definitely calls to people who have a more norm defiant spirit or enjoy the energy of those who do. All who work there have an inspiring sort of fearless energy to them, they aren't afraid to be themselves and embrace being different. Really cool people and very fun to talk to. The salon in itself is well decorated, very clean, which I personally appreciate and just overall has a very cool vibe, it's always a good feeling to walk in to The Harlot and to just look around. Definitely would recommend for anyone who has the budget and is looking for an incredible team for their hair. I would trust all of them to do an incredible job. Obviously, it would depend on what you want, but knowing their extensive experience, and what I have personally seen them do when i've been in the salon I can honestly recommend their quality of work. If you are looking to take a little bit of a risk, are open to trying something new and you just have a general vibe of what you want, I would absolutely recommend asking for their input on what could look good on you and what would work best with your features, have a reference pic for the vibe you're going for, for sure, but they all have a great eye and taste and will thrive on making you look your best. Depending on your style and what you want, different stylists could be the right fit, but one thing I don't doubt is that you will leave looking stunning. Hair is obviously a delicate thing, and for most of us it's a big part of feeling good, not only looking good. And those two are different things, so just in general be mindful of that. Don't ask for something too out there if you're not ready for it, cause even though it might look great you might not feel like it, especially if you're used to your hair looking a certain way for a long time, so, if you do decide to just let them do their thing, be sure to be prepared for it mentally. You will objectively look great coming out of the salon but might not feel it if you're not ready to rock a different look than you're used to, but that is just a general reality irregardless of the person cutting your hair or the salon you go to. Saying this because they are definitely very talented individuals who work at the salon, but The Harlot does specialize on a certain kind of look and hair, so make sure it's the right fit for you like you would with any other place. They're for sure some of the best out here in LA at what they do, guaranteed. If it's your vibe, you'll definitely love it and come back again :)

She is incredibly talented and capable, you can show her one pic and she will either make recommendations based on your hair, or gets straight to it and makes it happen. I've seen her 7 times now and have never left an appointment feeling anything but confident and stoked about my hair. No joke, last month I got a full balayage and some face framing layers, and within an hour of leaving my appointment, running errands, three strangers stopped me and asked me where I went for my hair/commented on how amazing it looked. Finally, you will not find someone with more flexibility on timing - she is beyond accommodating with her hours which is amazing for people with crazy work schedules. Do you have a stylist that will meet you at the crack of dawn for a quick, 5:30AM partial balayage before you go to work? I doubt it. Could not recommend Balayage by Linet (and Chelsi) more!

So at this moment I was a loyal client and would go to her in the future. Now some things slipped through the cracks while making my appointment. A couple months back I was ready to make a change and reach out a couple of time via phone and in person and the lack of communication failed. No biggie, I wanted to get my hair done here and nowhere else. Thought third time would be the charm so I stopped in person again and saw the owner Lidia. I mentioned that I was ready for a change and discussed what I wanted, I also asked for her colleague because even tho I had paid for a senior stylist her assistant at the time helped me ol half of the time. Again I did not say anything even after being hosed down during our first session. Decided to let it go. Well I indeed asked if she was available since I knew her as well and knew her prices were slightly different. However I was advised that they were actually the same. They did advise me they had someone knew with lower prices if I were interested. I was happy they were expanding but as I mentioned I was loyal to the person who already doing my hair. I had built a relationship and I was satisfied with the work being done. I requested to be booked with Lidia for my service. Now I know she's not there all the time so we can to coordinate a date where she was here on a weekend. I even requested a quote just so I would have an idea. Done! And received a confirmation. I had to reschedule and booked out for a month later. However the day before my services I received an email and saw a name I did not recognize. So I decided to text and confirm. I was advised that it was not with the owner but with a junior stylist because I had requested someone with lower prices. I was confused because I never asked, I was informed but because I didn't know her I was not comfortable moving forward with her. I then began receiving messages that if I didn't show then I would be charged, oh and the owner was not there so she wouldn't be the one doing my hair. I would however have the person (whom I don't know) do my hair because I "requested them". I tend to be clear, I don't know where the miscommunication came from. I've even received an original email that I was booked with the owner. I requested a call because I know I would never book with someone that I'm not comfortable and now have to be stuck in with. A lot of back and worth which wasn't leading anywhere. Neither of us felt that we were in the wrong, I was told I can book with the owner when she is in but at this moment I felt so uncomfortable and would be so awkward that I'd rather lose business with. I felt there was no accountability taken and I was convinced that I would be charged if I didn't show up with my appointment with someone I did not book.

I didn't realize or forgot they have parking in front and they will even run out to pay your meter for you if needed. I just parked in the neighborhood nearby. Salon vibes are so chill and inviting. Coffee and water provided too. A no pressure vibe which I loved. No product pushing, no pressure whatsoever when describing what you are trying to get. Sometimes I'm anxious with the salon because it's a lot when it comes to finding the right blonde or just awkward conversation. Not here! She works with you so well and you immediately feel comfortable walking into the salon and through the entire interaction. And just comfortable, fun environment while you're there! Fun conversation, every one was so incredibly nice. I also can't sit still for long- severe back problems and adhd so it was nice I could get up and move as needed. Slightly pricey but expected with the work she provided for myself.

This is not a high pressure sales environment. Obviously suggestions, opinions communicated etc...but the objective was not to sell me something or turn the chair over for the next client. No product pushing. No service pushing. No agenda pushing. Full stop. 2) Skill I've always thought of Blonding as a language; I now believe Caitlin wrote that language. She is 100% the doctor and the surgeon. I got exactly what | asked for. Read that again: EXACTLY what I asked for. Having experienced the accuracy of an exclusively blonde colorist, I cannot overstate that value. 3) Communication It's possible your colorist may have to interpret what you're asking for. It's possible this takes time. Cait spent time with me. She encouraged me to say more and made me feel comfortable (read: not-stupid) as I probably talked out of both sides of my mouth and stumbled through my wants, needs, pictures, let-downs, etc. Look, I don't care who's hair you've colored, or "red carpet" this, "social media following" that blah blee blah. All of your skill and knowledge and experience is lost on me if: I'm intimidated You have one eye on the clock for our entire consult You're annoyed with my inability to articulate Couple the thorough communication with the technical capability and B/B is in a whole other league, entirely. Caitlin, you should be really proud of this business. Ok. SO: I hesitate to comment on/share price and service-time because every blonde really is unique BUT since that's probably the info you're looking for, I'll say this: Re price: Not inexpensive ALTHOUGH more than fair (even before you consider comps at other salons) Re time: It takes as long as it takes.
