Our experience with her was veiled in withholding of vital information that she was obligated to share according to Real Estate Law. Margaret was very communicative and helpful in selling our home quickly as promised and I would give a 5 star review if all else was seamless. However, there was a major lack in communication after our home sold. Most people don't buy and sell homes everyday and the process was confusing for us towards the end. The buyers agent and attorney would communicate with Margaret and her team and we would have to proactively reach out to receive the information needed to move along in the process on our end. We relocated to another state and were in the process of buying a home in our new location simultaneously; therefore, we needed communication on timelines and closing documents to move forward with our buying process. The attorney we used that was recommended by Margaret was unfortunately not very helpful. We literally emailed everyday to ask for updates towards the end of the closing because we realized that important deadlines were not being met due to the lack of communication. Margaret is a great person and nice to work with, but I would recommend finding someone who is more focused on clients and has a better sense of urgency to keep everyone updated and on the same page. This is why I chose to give a 3 star review. I would have used a different agent if I knew what I know now. read more

I waited until my house is sold to post this review about Margaret to have the fact that she was wrong and played games on her client. First time we met to walk through the house, she gave me a book that had the comps (comparable houses) of my house. The average comp came out to be at $280k which is way higher than my house's market value. (I did a research myself and it would be around $230k.) I looked closely at all the properties and they were all bigger and better houses than mine. This is very wrong. Comps should be similar to my house. I started to question her intention. After seeing my house, she gave me a new comp at $215k, which was $65k less than her previous evaluation. She suggested me to sell my house at $215k. I disagreed and requested her to provide me list of properties that she used to determine this new comp. Again, she violated many rules in pulling properties to use as a comp. She just pulled those that were sold for a very low price because they were either foreclosures, or smaller and older houses, and some were sold a year ago. Foreclosures cannot be used as a comp because they are in distress conditions. My house is in a subdivision where many houses are similar, so it is very easy to find a closed comp. As the matter of fact, I provided her a list of houses that were perfectly matched my house, even same model, and they were sold only within 3 months for $240,000s. I'm sure she knows better and got access to those houses but she didn't choose them. That raised a big red flag for me. I switched realtor and now my house is sold with a cash offer at $225k. Beside this cash offer, I also got a FHA loan offer at $230k. I chose the cash offer for a quick and guaranteed closing. If I went with Margaret to sell my house at $215k, I could have lost 10 thousand dollars. I'm not a real estate expert but I can evaluate my house correctly, why can't Margaret? What game was she playing by first telling me my house worth a lot more, then tell me it worth a lot less? Was she confused I was a buyer, so she told me a high comp in the area so that I expect to pay more? Then after we met, she gave me a low comp because I was a seller so that I expect to sell for less? Of course if you pay more when you buy or sell less when you sell, it will be quick, as most Margaret's Yelp reviews said they closed within weeks. I didn't have to sell for a discount price, just at the market value, I got under contract within 3 weeks. I also felt betrayed because of believing in 5 star ratings on Yelp to contact Margaret. Margaret was amazing. As first home buyers we knew nothing about purchasing a home. I had done lots of research on zillow and Redfin to which homes I wanted to see and Margaret not only got us set up to see those, it made more recommendations.
