Plus she's very professional, knowledgeable, friendly and she can do alterations as well. I've gotten dresses for cocktails, for weddings, my engagement shower and most recently family photographs. Walked in because my mom said it would be good to get a new dress I bought hemmed. I was BLOWN away! It's like a boutique Bloomingdale's. Unique pieces and great price point! I don't post but I'm a dress girl and I found a gorgeous linen dress for everyday and an elegant dress for my brother's wedding. More importantly, Margarita is a sweet and fabulous older lady who deserves a shout out! read more

It's been a while since I have been here but immediately I was reminded of the great selection of formal and dressy clothes that they always have. It's hard to choose because there are so many beautiful dresses for different occasions. They carry a large selection of Tadashi gowns which are elegant and well priced. They also have accessories to complete your outfit. I found lovely earrings to match my gown and the evening purses were hard to select from. It's a family run business and you get personalized care when you need it. Margarita does on site alterations so your dress can be customized. read more

This store is amazing! Four generations of women all working together in the same family running this amazing store. Unfortunately I didn't find a dress there for my daughter's wedding, but they altered my rehearsal dinner outfit in 24 hours for me of course it was just a straight hem but they saved my life. Women's clothes (primarily dresses), shoes, purses, and jewelry. Friendly customer service. This place primarly sells sample dress that they later alter. So if you are not of a particular size (in the smaller size) it may be difficult to find something that fits you. They do have a good selection on "older" women dresses. Prefect for Mother of the Bride. about 1/4 of the store has was appears to be items from Marshalls & TJ MAXx. I know cause I recognize some of the price tags. You will not find many a variety of color selections. In other words, if you like a dress that's it don't ask for other colors or sizes. Some fancy brands that you find at Nordstrom. I ended up buying a beautiful dress that they altered for $10. Friendly mother and daughter team. read more

It's the best place to pick up something really nice for the special women in your life. Like most men I go in there clueless as to what to pick out for that special occasion. All I know is that my girlfriend shops there and loves the place so I went in to get her something. The staff asked me a few questions and within minutes they put something sexy together and wrapped ut up! No more waiting in those long lines at Nordstrom. In the business of womens apparel, prom dresses, mother of the bride and groom dresses, shoes, and accessories for over thirty years! Located off Whittier Blvd. between First Ave. and Jordan Road. We have customers of all ages and sizes. Specializing in Dresses...cocktail, evening, formal, & special occasion.

History

Established in 1978.

Margarita has owned and operated her boutique since 1978. Her love of fashion and business started at a very young age and still continues. During the 1960's she worked in clothing factories in downtown LA sewing and creating patterns for beautiful dress labels like Eve Le Coq and many more. She then began to buy dresses and resell them out of her home and then finally in 1978 she moved her business from her home to a storefront in Pico Rivera, Ca. In the early 1990's she moved to the current Whittier Boulevard location. Margarita is quite the socialite, if she is not at her boutique you will catch her having dinner with girlfriends at her favorite local businesses. Margarita still does all the buying and alterations and with the help of her daughter she has been able to keep new generations coming in for their dress needs every year. Meet the Business Owner: Margarita C.

Margarita has been in business for over 30 years. She came to Los Angeles in the 1960s to work at a clothing factory sewing clothes. Raising four kids by herself she started to sell clothes out of her garage and then from there she opened her first store in Pico Rivera and was there for over 15 years. Margarita then moved her business to Whittier where she has been for over 20 years. She has helped generations of girls find the perfect dress for prom - weddings and she truly loves what she does.

I love this boutique! They have BCBG! Laundry! Tadashi! All at reasonable prices. They have handmade jewelry... designer handbags... even SPANX! Closer and at a better price than Nordstrom! They always have killer shoes! Steve madden, Michael kors, nine west, colehaan, stuart weitzman! All at a great price ... about half the price or more from the department stores. There is a good selection of evening gowns and I always send all my girlfriends daughters here for their prom and high school outings. There is usually one of each item, which I love! Because that means nobody else will have it! They have cheap alterations done by the owner Margarita who is completely sweet! I could keep going on about how great this store is! read more

This boutique has laundry by shelli segal, Tadashi, C&c, david meister, and a lot more for reasonable prices. They have handmade jewelry, costume jewelry, designer handbags... even SPANX ! We're familiar with Downtown LA and Santee Street, but have never actually bought dresses here. Many of the businesses seem to carry the same dresses with the exception of a few and don't have great reviews on yelp. We stopped by on a Saturday and Luna the sales associate helped us out. A few of the things I loved about this boutique were the following: 1. Good Customer Service 2. They allow you to try on as many dresses as you want. 3. There's no pressure to buy a dress 4. Payment - Cash or Card 4. They carry very beautiful dresses ranging from $189-$600. After trying a few dresses, we fell in love with a champagne floral dress, which I did not see at any of the other stores we looked at on Santee Street. One thing to note is that you do need to pay the full amount when you purchase the dress or order it. In our case they didn't have the dress in the size I needed so we had to order it, which wasn't a problem. I picked up the dress and got it altered right next door with one of the alterations business they recommended, which are also great. However, when I asked her, she rudely replied "we already told you," as if asking again was a crime. I was taken back, but didn't react to her rude demeanor because she looked young & inexperienced (& she looked like my daughter's age, but at least my daughter has manners). Therefore I told her that the reason I was asking was because I don't do social media & I wanted to know so that I could go shopping at their place in the future. But then she said that they were closing and that they were still looking for a new location. Well, I can see why they are closing. The customer service is very bad. As we were walking out, my hisband and I said "bye" & "thank you." But nothing.
