i came here on mother's day in search for a last minute gift for my mom. upon being rung up, i saw they had needohs at the counter. i wanted to buy two, one for myself and one for a friend. they had already rung up my gift, so another transaction was started - no biggie. customer service was just fine, so i didn't mind. what got me was my total.. why the heck are two needohs over $55? i told the employee never mind. i get it - stores like this need to keep up with the current trends and demand. but you do realize this is a sensory toy that typically ranges from $4 - $8 dollars retail... right? why are you reselling a literal toy for over triple the actual retail cost? it's a shame - i do really enjoy the store. great selection of gifts and locally made goods. but reselling like that is really gross. read more

Local Fixture always has the most fun gifts, coolest dodger gear, and great Baggu selection. I reluctantly tried their banana matcha latte after trying one from a Fullerton shop who used artificial banana flavor. Local Fixture's latte was so much better as it tasted like they used real banana puree! I was in love and very happy with the flavor. Will be back for another! read more

Local Fixture is a unique and interesting store filled with lots of goodies. This spot is located in the heart of Uptown Whittier where they have their own parking lot in the back. Inside, they have a plant-filled section, a home decor and books section, and then their own coffee shop tucked away on the side as well. This is definitely a fun place to peruse around as they have so much ranging from plants, books, home decor, plushies, sports memorabilia, and more. All of the staff here are very friendly and welcoming. If you are ever in the area, you should stop by and you will not leave empty-handed! read more

Local Fixture is a mix of a gift and coffee shop. The gift shop has a good variety of gifts, so the selection is great for looking for different gifts. The coffee shop is also great, they have a mix of coffee, matcha, hot chocolate and chai drinks. They have seasonal menu for drinks. Service for both is great. Drinks are prepared in a good amount of time and there is a place to sit inside and outside. They also have a parking lot and there is plenty of street parking. read more

I've been a local fixture customer for years. This was the first time I've actually gone to their new location. I needed some last minute Christmas gifts and decided to shop locally. It was early, i was dressed in sweats and looking at everything and going around the whole store. It's very easy to tell when you're being watched. It made it a very uncomfortable situation and I will not be going back. And i am assuming the owners were there and unfortunately they were in the way. They were just talking to each other or other employees trying to make them look busy. 0/10 experience. The only good thing was the gingerbread cold brew. Finally got to check out the new building. I will admit that I really miss the charm of the old building, but this new one has great potential to it. The layout of the store is now different so it allows you to browse around and see some stuff that you may of missed at the old spot. I docked one star as the signage is bad. I am sure that it is in the works, but we drove by and had to double back as we were not entirely sure we were in the right place. // Note: There is some enough space for a rad mural on the outside of the building. I frequent this store occasionally after my cycling class next-door at Drip. On this particular visit, I purchased a gift item on a Thursday, in time for a Tuesday birthday. I had the gift wrapped (which is such a nice touch that the store offers), and I gave it to the recipient who put it on her head. Suddenly, the letters on the headband broke off. I went to Local Fixture the following Thursday after spin class to see if there were any options for me as a consumer, and the associate relayed that the store doesn't take back accessory returns due to sanitary reasons (which is understandable). I explained to her though that it was a quality issue more so than a sanitary issue, but she said that the person who rang me up should've relayed to me that the item was final sale on top of it being printed on the receipt (which I did manage to access deep within a link of the texted e-receipt). As I didn't even catch the fine print, I wish the associate would have verbalized this to me as I may have had a second thought about purchasing. This incident led me to think back to two years ago when I bought a hair clip from the store that fell apart right when I came home and I didn't think of returning it because it was clear it wasn't good quality and I figured Local Fixture being a boutique, that it was an automatic loss for me for sanitation reasons alone. However, this time as my purchase being a gift, and the store priding itself as purveyor of all things ecclectic and giftable, I was terribly disappointed that I wasn't even extended store credit to buy something else. The recipient was out of a gift and I, stuck with a defective item. There's probably not a return policy that exists that would serve as an effective safeguard for both the consumer and a small business, but sometimes I wish as a small town store they would care to act in more of a small town manner and in limited circumstances, look at purchases through the lens of a consumer (only where it is warranted). There could be a couple of exceptions in the name of customer retention and satisfaction. I'm contradicting myself because I will continue frequenting Local Fixture because I need my knee high Kobe socks and my Selena sippee cup for the kiddos, in my life. However, I think in the name of "sanitary" the final sales policy could apply to practically everything in the store, so buy with caution. read more

My daughter took me here for a tea but didn't tell me about the other cool stuff they sell. It was so much fun checking out their unique things from hilarious dish towels to beautiful fresh plants. While waiting for our order (witches brew tea and earl grey/honey.... well made n flavors on point) we could set indoors or patio or just cruise around store. The coffee at local fixture was so good! I loved that they had so many options to choose from as well. The cashier taking my order was very helpful as she described all the drinks in detail. I ordered the iced horchata latte, iced sweet bee, and hibiscus limeade. All these drinks were amazing! My favorite was the horchata latte. The hibiscus limeade was perfect- not too sweet and great flavor. Their coffee bar is located inside the shop. You can buy really cute and unique gifts here. They have nice pens and other office supplies. The one thing that would be cool, is if they had some indoor seating because it does get pretty hot outside, and there weren't too many tables available. Since before the pandemic, Local fixture used to be one of my favorite stores to shop a peruse. I know from their social media that they have an unfortunate history of shoplifters. So I understand being cautious. However, tonight me and my husband and son went in to look and possibly buy something. Me and my family were looking at the dodgers stuff and I and well as my husband see a male staff member there right behind me looking me up and down and reporting on his walkie (we don't know what was said). This is not the first time I have noticed being watched in your store. There were instances at the Bright location where I was being watched too. This was probably my 3rd time at your new location and it was blatantly obvious that I was being watched. For record, me and my family have brown skin and are chicanos wearing sweats and sweatshirts. We are on Christmas break, looking for last minute gifts and that was ruined by your blatant profiling. Do better and realize what city your store is located in. Review based solely on lack of human kindness. My 7 year old needed to use the restroom. I understand that the policy is "no public restrooms". However, in view of his age and the urgency of the situation, I was hoping for a little understanding. The first employee I contacted was sympathetic. We came here a few days before Xmas and it was super packed yet the staff was still friendly and available to help. The busy coffee shop is located towards the back and offers delicious donuts as well. You can sit and sip your coffee against their succulent wall plant display which I thought was real. It's plastic succulents but boy are they pretty. This is a great place to find a unique greeting card or gift for a loved one or co-worker. I truly fell in love with the humorous gift cards and mugs. This store is so cute! I love that they have plants, lattes, and quirky items. I have visited this location several times and I'm always amazed at something new that they cary. Pros: 1. Wonderful plants and a variety to choose from. 2. Chill atmosphere. 3. Unique merchandise. 4. Coffee bar inside and cozy seating out front. (With non-dairy options and also serving tea lattes) 5.
