The only thing decision that I'm as sure about as marrying my husband, is choosing Mari to take my photos. At this point in my life I have used a photographer probably seven times for various things from proposal, engagement, family photos. No photographer made me feel the way Mari did. The amount of hype and support that she gives just brings out the joy in the day even more. It was a stressful day, there's no denying it, but when she was taking our photos we felt loved, adored and beautiful. I could not have asked for a better experience. There were plenty of tough decisions we had to make during our wedding planning process - but choosing a photographer and videographer was certainly not one of them. As soon as I caught a glimpse of the work produced by Mari Harsan Studios (and before I was even engaged), I knew I had to have them capture my wedding! We were going to have an Indian wedding, and this team is definitely is very experienced with multicultural weddings. Mari and George are extremely talented, professional, and kind. To anyone that's ever watched them work, it's clear that they absolutely love what they do. And wow, was this husband-wife team a joy to work with! We first met them during our engagement session at the National Gallery of Art on a rainy day in DC. Mari is the primary photographer, and she was very creative with her shots, and made us feel at ease. I was completely blown away with the photos, which were so unique and definitely looked like works of art! I loved how they were so much more than the typical casual shots of a couple walking through a park. I received so many compliments and was convinced that we were in great hands for our upcoming wedding! From that moment until the wedding, they were in contact about the wedding details and timeline. They were already very familiar with our other vendors, who also had nothing but positive things to say about them. On the morning on the big day, Mari, George and their team showed up bright and early. Although days like this can be stressful, seeing familiar faces at 6 in the morning really helped put me at ease. My husband and I had such a wonderful time at our first look with Mari and George. They worked efficiently, stuck to the timeline, and made us feel so comfortable. When the grounds were wet from the rain the night before, they went as far as to give us their shoes so that ours wouldn't get muddy. Mari is the most talented photographer I have ever met! She shot both our engagement photoshoot and wedding and I can't describe in words what an amazing job she did. First off, she is one of the most pleasant people that I have ever interacted with. She is so sweet and makes you feel very comfortable while she is shooting you. She is very responsive to email and easy to get a hold of. She was also very communicative when it came to the wedding and took the time to answer all of my questions ahead of time so that the timeline was planned thoroughly before the day of the wedding. The pictures that she provided were beyond amazing and extremely high quality. Mari and her assistant photographer, Megan, captured all of our special moments in such a way that we are able to relive the day every time we go through them. It was clear that Mari spent a lot of time and effort editing the photos, which we really appreciated. She even sent us the edited photos very quickly, considering how much time and effort it was clear she put into editing the photos. Its rare to find a team so passionate about their work. From the second we got to the venue, they were running around capturing every angle of every wedding event but, surprisingly, you could hardly even notice they were there. Always super polite and professional. But, what drew us to Mari Harson was the quality of their editing and cinematography! Within minutes of our first dance, a looper was already playing highlighting the days activities. For those 3 minutes there was pin drop silence in our ballroom with over 400 people. They made a trip into DC and met me near my work during the week so we had enough time to discuss my vision and answer any questions I had. Now, fast forward to the day of the wedding -- We spent over 10 hours with them on the day of our wedding and they were nothing less of patient, gracious and kind. They orchestrated our timeline precisely and thought on the fly when one photo location didn't work out due to a permit mishap. While I knew their work was going to be great from seeing examples of past weddings and events they've worked, you can never quite judge attitude until day of. They were all just so pleasant to be around and by the end of the day, I felt like they were simply friends taking our pictures because we were so comfortable with them. Note to brides who have not done this before: you do not realize how much of a role your photographer/videographer play in your special day (or at least I didn't). They are all around you during every special moment and they spend the entire day with you. Mari, George and their crew were awesome people to have around. I can honestly say THEY CAPTURED EVERY MOMENT and they did it while making us laugh during photo shoots and staying in the background during the memories. They had great senses of humor and were efficient, knowledgeable, responsive, and enormously talented! Our video is AMAZING, our photos are numerous and BEAUTIFUL. It was well worth the money. I will also say our situation was unique. We are a Swiss-American couple. We had the wedding here in the states and a blessing ceremony in Switzerland two weeks after. Mari and George dropped everything to get us our photos and video FINALIZED in two weeks!!! I doubt they can do this for everyone, but without being hired for that blessing ceremony, they still were a huge part of it as we showed the video during the ceremony. I cannot thank them enough- it meant so much to be able to share our actual wedding with family and friends who were not able to fly. I think Mari Harsan has great photography and videography skills - that's why we reached out to her in the first place. However, we had some privacy concerns after seeing some intimate photos (i.e. father sobbing at daughter's wedding) on her webpage and it seemed like all conversations were about how the photography/videography she would take at our wedding (that we would be paying a LOT for) would help her business... She wasn't the right fit for us because we didn't want a wedding photographer/videographer to view our wedding as an opportunity for future business while not caring about our own comfort. read more

There aren't enough stars in the world to rate Mari and George! I served as a day of coordinator for friend and met Mari the day before the wedding. Mari and George together are absolutely amazing. Mari's energy is contagious and their attention to detail is impeccable! Their cameras and drone captured so many great moments and they were able to quickly edit and share video footage of the ceremony to the guests at dinner. The icing on the cake? George and his team is absolutely suburb - worth every penny. Went above and beyond to make our video everything we wanted and capturing the moments that were specifically important to us! My brother made a video and he even incorporated into his final edits. I asked him to edit my sister's dance early and he was able to accommodate our request 2 weeks after the wedding was done. I can't thank him enough and my only regret is that we didn't find him earlier so that we could have used his team for our photography as well. read more

She did an amazing job on our engagement and wedding shoot, and we get compliments on our wedding photos ALL the time and people are just wowed by them. Is there a 6th star available?! I met Mari and her husband George at a bridal show last summer. Upon entering their booth and seeing samples of their work I was immediately intrigued to talk to them to find out more. After spending time with Mari and George for 5 minutes I KNEW I had found my wedding photographer and videographer. I cannot say enough good things about this team. We purchased a package that included an engagement photoshoot and wedding day photoshoot and wedding day videography. Mari's photos are breath taking. She uses the surroundings and light to capture a mood or moment in time. She makes you feel incredibly comfortable and relaxed so your pictures come across natural and not forced. George is equally as talented, and had some great ideas during our engagement shoot. Photos are taken from many angles - they will climb in a tree, and get in the dirt to get the best shot- its truly amazing! George was down in a ditch to capture us on a bridge. That is dedication! When I received my engagement photos I was up ALL night enamored, I could not stop flipping through them and was SO excited. Mari and George are in constant contact with you as it leads up to the big day. They came to Baltimore 3 weeks before the wedding so we could find a few areas for photos the day of the wedding outdoors, and a few indoor spots as a backup. They were so flexible, and spent more than enough time with us until we really felt comfortable with the gameplan. We really appreciate how invested they are in the couples they work with. They day of the wedding we had amazing weather. George was able to fly the drone over Ravens stadium and throughout Federal Hill/inner harbor area as my husband had wished for. Mari and George were there as myself and husband were getting ready, and worked tirelessly to capture all the details and small moments of the day. They were incredibly professional, and although they were ever present, they did not interfere or have the camera in your face. They work great together as a husband and wife team, and their assistants are just as fantastic. I just received my photos of the wedding from Mari, one word - PHENOMENAL!!! We are just as thrilled with the wedding day pictures as the engagement pictures. They are simply gorgeous. We are awaiting the short film, but we already know its going to be 6 stars! The looper that was shown at our reception was so stunning that we are still receiving compliments on it. George worked hard in between our events to put it together, and it showed how much talent he has to put together a high quality video in such a short period of time.
