Recently, we had been with other insurance agencies. My parents were made aware of this agency through word of mouth, and I have to say that without them bringing this to my attention, we never would have met Jay Chung and been able to work with State Farm again. As you can imagine, insurance premiums have been really creeping up and becoming more expensive, so the timing couldn't have been better for us to meet with Jay. He was thoughtful, professional, and friendly- also, very THOROUGH. Any questions we had, were answered. He followed up with us to ensure that we were maximizing our potential discounts, and also doing the little things to make sure that we are satisfied with the level of coverage that we now have for home, auto, and umbrella for our situation. My parents are elderly, but still perfectly able to move about and be social and do things on their own. Jay was patient with them, and I cannot state how happy I was that I really wasn't involved in the process because he was so supportive and great to work with. I cannot state this enough- Jay walked us through SIGNIFICANT savings for our family home/auto. I highly recommend this agency not only for cost management, but the benefit of having an agent to ask any questions or air concerns, or even help filing a claim- Jay is going to be there for us. So we are grateful to State Farm, and Jay Chung especially.

I am extremely disappointed with my recent experience with Steve Cannon State Farm Insurance…read more I initially called the office to add a new vehicle to my existing policy. I spoke with Colin, who provided me with a quote for the new vehicle. I asked him to email the quote to me, but he explained that due to a system change, he was unable to send the email at that time. He advised me to call back the next day to move forward with the process and assured me that he would leave detailed notes about our conversation, including the quote he provided. When I called back the next day, I spoke with Marisa Litavis, and unfortunately, she seemed completely unaware of the conversation I had with Colin. Instead of professionally reviewing the situation, she made an inappropriate comment along the lines of "you know men do not give details," and also made additional comments about Colin's work ethic that I should not have been privy to as a customer. That was extremely unprofessional. Marisa then gave me a new quote for the vehicle, but the amount was over $100 more per month than what Colin had quoted me the day before. When I questioned why the amount was so different, she stated that they were doing system upgrades and said she would double-check and call me back. When she called back, she told me that the higher amount was the new price and that Colin's quote was incorrect. Because of the drastic difference in price, I let Marisa know that I would be shopping around for more affordable insurance. I ended up finding a new policy for both my home and auto insurance with another large company. Not only was the new company able to offer me better coverage, but the price was also much more affordable than what I was being quoted through Steve Cannon State Farm. Since the State Farm office was already closed by the time I secured my new policy, I waited until the next morning to call and cancel my existing policies. When I called, I spoke with Marisa again and informed her that I wanted to cancel because I had found better and more affordable insurance. Her tone and attitude toward me were extremely rude, nasty, and unprofessional. I felt mistreated and disrespected, and honestly, the way I was spoken to made me feel like I was being treated unfairly as a Black customer. Marisa told me she would cancel the policies and that I should receive cancellation information. Because of how poorly the conversation was going, I told her I preferred to stay on the line until I received confirmation. She rudely told me to "hold." Once she came back on the line, I was able to confirm that I received the cancellation information. However, while I was still speaking, Marisa abruptly said "okay, bye" and hung up while I was mid-sentence. I called back and told her that she had hung up on me while I was speaking. She denied it and became argumentative. She also stated that she wanted the rate and company information for my new insurer, but at that point, I no longer felt comfortable continuing that discussion. I told her directly that her behavior was rude and unprofessional. I have had my home and two vehicles insured through this State Farm location since I purchased my home in January 2021. As a long-term customer, I expected to be treated with basic respect, professionalism, and fairness. Instead, I was met with inconsistent quote information, inappropriate comments about another employee, a lack of accountability, and extremely poor customer service when I decided to move my policies elsewhere. I used to think highly of State Farm as a brand, so this experience was very disappointing. I truly hope State Farm does not condone this type of behavior from any office representing its name. It is unfortunate that this location gave me such a negative final experience after years of being a customer. Steve Cannon State Farm needs to do better. Customers should be treated fairly and respectfully, even when they choose to make the best financial decision for their household. No customer should feel mistreated, dismissed, or disrespected simply because they found more affordable insurance elsewhere.

They never called us to try to help us in anyway. Come to find out they changed one of the plans on our cars and didn't even tell us about it. We were being way overcharged. That might not be their fault directly but they should've been more involved with our Account. There's no reason for this kind of lack of communication.

I had a…read morebuy-this-car offer come up that I could not let pass me by, but I was leaving the state for a 2 - 3 week journey so I needed insurance FAST! Sherry replied very quickly to my inquiry and guided me through some processes I needed to follow to ensure my existing motorcycle insurance could also be under Doug Marrinson along with a new automotive (car) policy. Doug quickly sent me a couple of options for insurance and spoke with me on the phone during his busy day to answer some questions and edit the auto policy. He made payment fast and easy and within an hour I had the insurance needed to go register my new vehicle! Doug also took the time to explain a few options I had if for some reason the Dept of Transportation office did not accept the title (the previous owner had not written their name on the back of the title exactly as it appeared on the front, which is justification to refuse registration of the vehicle). Thanks to Sherry and Doug I felt confident that I could march into the DOT office and register the vehicle and, if something went sideways, they could quickly guide me through additional steps to get registered. Keep in mind they did all this with a multi-state, multi-week driving vacation looming within a couple of days! Kudos to Doug and Sherry! Exceptional service! Highly recommend!
