I first met Maria about a dozen years ago when she was working at the East Beach Grill. She works hard and always stays positive. I am in awe of her ability to work hard and save money and start her own restaurant. My regular dish at Maria's Tacos is her taco combination plate. I get one fish taco and one shrimp taco. The fish is high quality and delicious. Maria is eager to please, so don't hesitate to offer compliments and suggestions. Some have complained about the portion size. For me, I am grateful for her human-sized portions. Too many places pile on too many calories, but her portions are perfect for me. Attached is a photo of Maria in the open restaurant kitchen.

Can't beat the taco plate. Two tacos, beans, and rice. Fresh tortillas and nicely seasoned beans. Maria is super nice. Happy to support a small woman owned business. Horchata was also good and shrimp tacos were . A couple outdoor tables and inside counter seating. Stop by!

Best tacos in the Santa Barbara area. I seriously cannot believe this was my first time. Maria is very sweet and helpful, fun location that makes you feel at home.

We ordered burritos from across the street and tacos from this place. Seeing other reviews, I recommend tacos only because it's called Maria's TACOS. We enjoyed our tacos. They were generous with carne asade and the salas were good. The Baja Fish taco had a really tasty sauce, next time I'd ask them to put extra sauce. I also really like thier agua frescas. They shake their drinks in an ice shaker and pour it into a cup with no ice so you get the chilled agua frescas not watered down by ice later on. I liked how the person at the register was able to answer all our questions. We took our order to go but they have a few spaces to eat inside but it's probably better to go.

Generally the worst taco I ever had. Tortilla tastes like thick paper, the meat was seasonless, and they're overpriced on top of that.

The line always moves fast and the food comes out quickly too. What compelled me to write this review was because I had a delicious pescado a la diabla, which was a daily special. The fish was a huge portion -- a whole filet with a delicious spicy sauce, perfectly cooked and flaky. The rice and beans are always great, perfectly seasoned and cooked. I also had a passionfruit margarita which was big and well balanced. The salsa bar is very good; the habanero salsa is really tasty but their old version without cream was one of the best salsa I ever had and I'm so sad they don't offer it anymore. It was legitimately spicy. I always love coming here with my friends after a movie so we can discuss the flick over some great mexican food.

The inside has a classic Santa Barbara feel to it and is warm and inviting. They also have a very organized take-out system, and their online ordering is really easy and convenient. The guacamole is fresh and while it's a little pricey, the portion os generous. The steak nachos had toppings spread throughout the chips, not just sitting on top which has been my experience at some other restaurants. The quesabirria special is my go to dish here, the meat is so tender and flavorful!

Let's taco bout Roger's Tacos!…read more This is a pop-up stand that operates anywhere and everywhere in Isla Vista (IV). In the beginning, they mostly bounced around different backyards along Del Playa Drive (DP). Recently, they're doing more partnerships with local businesses and fundraisers with student orgs, frats, and sororities. For address information and updates, you will have to follow @rogerstacos on Instagram. Most of the time they start after 4:30 PM and end around 10:00 PM to 12:00 AM, unless they run out of food before. As of January 2023, the typical menu is: Tacos - $2.25 Burritos - $11.25 Cheese Burritos - $13.00 Mulitas - $4.00 Quesadillas - $8.50 Horchata - $2.25 Rice - $2.00 Beans - $2.00 Extra Cheese - $1.25 They accept Venmo! It's safe to say that these tacos are the best in IV. The al pastor is freshly sliced, they bring in one of those vertical broilers that rotate the meat. The asada was prepared nicely, I was expecting it to be a little more charred but it was cooked thoroughly. The pollo was juicy. Toppings and sauces are self-served. Since they set up shop in random college student houses, don't expect too much in terms of ambiance. Seating can be limited, we stood around a dirty beer die table in the backyard of a DP apartment. But it had a great view of the Pacific Ocean. In an article written about the owner Rogelio Muñoz, I read he wanted to open his taco stand at UC Santa Barbara someday, becoming a permanent food stall in the Arbor. It would be amazing if that happened, wishing him all the best!

We held out on eating out and this was so worth it, just perfect and quality. Future birthdays and family gatherings will be here! First day we got happy hour oysters, uni, crab claw, fish and chips, bowl of chowder. Oysters were so fresh and delicious. Uni was remarkably sweet and creamy and sea fresh. Perfect fry on the fish and fries complemented raw plate. Chowder also delicious. Everything came out quickly and looked so good I didn't know where to start! We came back the next day as part of our staycation:) we got some more oysters because why not! lobster roll was the highlight, buttery roll and packed full of lobster. Calamari was great, loved the addition of fried peppers. Fish market really has their fry nailed down. Albacore crudo was good but our least favorite, would have preferred a more delicate marinade over the soy chili crunch and will likely order sashimi next time instead The guy helping us out at the cashier was super welcoming. Service was friendly and no frills just the way we like it! Thanks for the fun time out!

When the food came out, the lobster roll was a fair size, chowder was generous, the fish and chip was HUUUUGGGEE. The side salad was a generous portion, worthy of being an entree size. The food was good, outside seating allowed our furbaby got to hang out with us. Help yourself water, and they had a dog bowl, bonus points! We'll come back next time we are in town to visit family.
