This guy's great . . . can I give him more than 5 stars?!?!…read more I used Dominic Wayne for a National Sales Meeting I coordinated this year (150 people held at the Renaissance Hotel in Chicago). Dominic is the DJ at Vaughan's Pub on Sheffield and also had a great resume of other company/corporate events & weddings that he has done . . . I knew he would do a great job with the music and when meeting with him I learned that he also did video production. We hired him to do our Kick off opening day module for meeting. We needed something that would get the employees excited and engerized for the next 3 days. Dominic created about a 5 minute video showcasing all of our brands in an extremely creative and upbeat way (all set to great music of course). The video was great and I actually received several requests for copies of it including one from the head of our Board of Directors who was totally impressed and showed it at the next board meeting. We also hired him to DJ our evening events . . . first night was the welcome cocktail reception, the second night was a casino/roaring 20's themed party. The first night was great, played great music and kept everyone mingling way past the end of dinner. The second night was even better than the first (and 7 mths later, people are still talking about him). We had a Roaring 20's themed night & Dominic was the hit of the party. He dressed up like a gangster, started out the first part of the night with appropriately themed music and then graduated into dance music and had the whole party on the dance floor . . . the hotel literally had to kick us out of the ballroom. We originally only hired him for 2 nights, but actually ended asking him to come back for the third night to DJ our award cermony. . . and again he was a hit. Dominic really brought some freshness and energy to what could have easily been another boring sales meeting. We gave him a few playlists to share our overall vibe, and he went above and beyond--asking for a detailed breakdown of the energy we wanted at each moment and location throughout our multi-event celebration. Whether it was the ceremony, the rooftop cocktail hour at our pre-wedding sangeet, the themed speakeasy cocktail hour, or the full-on sangeet dance party, he curated each set with intention and total mastery. His mixes were unlike anything we've ever heard. He seamlessly blended Indian, Western, reggaeton, Afrobeats, Bollywood, and more, creating unique mashups that fit the mood and the venue perfectly. The sangeet reception mashup he crafted was out of this world. I had at least ten guests come up to me asking if he would make a mix just so they could relive the night and use it for their own weddings. Thus, there was never any consideration for giving a bad review. The question was whether to give the "perfect" score. Sometimes bad things occur beyond someone's control. They did the best they could do under the circumstances, including the owner offering more than I could conscientiously accept. They performed spectacularly, despite the owner probably believing she would be paid nothing for her performance and hard work. None of the audience ever even knew there was a problem. In mulling it over, that ability to actually turn lemons into lemonade shows more professionalism than simply doing so under the best conditions. The best parts were the quality of the performers, their choice of music, and the cheerfulness of the performance. Every one of our guests were throughly entranced by the music! I therefore enthusiastically recommend Symphony Sounds for your wedding or other event.
