I have nothing but great things to say about Mariah, just as all the other reviews indicate. Mariah photographed our wedding 2 weeks ago. We just got back from our honeymoon to a full set of edited photos (as promised), plus extras and a slideshow!! While the quality of the photos is outstanding, what truly sets Mariah apart is her personality. She is perhaps the warmest, friendliest person I've ever met...and was fantastic and easy to work with. She coordinated well with our other vendors, including helping sew up the timeline with our day-of coordinator to accommodate several tweaks here and there. On the day of, she even helped ease me through some of the more emotional moments with her gentle and reassuring words! Mariah really went above and beyond to make us feel like we were her only clients, and that personal touch is what made our wedding day experience as special as it was. Mariah photographed our 5/9/14 Elopement in Seattle. We traveled all the way from Nashville, TN and were very lucky to come across Mariah's website while searching for a Seattle photographer. We made first contact and arrangments via email and she was always incredibly friendly and professional. She has flexibility and client appriciation that we did not find with any other photographer (We spoke to probably 10 before deciding on Mariah!!!) Mariah Gentry is such a joy to work with. I am so happy I hired her to do my elopement wedding photography! We used to torture ourselves and go to JCP for a family studio photo shoot. They were so hit and miss, sometimes late, sometimes on time, sometimes decent sometimes poor, and even on a sunny day they were inside, which was somehow depressing, like a baseball game at the Kingdome. In contrast, Mariah is great. She met us a Bothell Landing for outdoor family photos. She was on time, super-friendly/positive, good with kids, and knows how to frame great shots. My family isn't easy to get all on the same page for photos but she did really well. She also lets you keep a bunch of the originals as part of the deal. I hate it when the photo studio "owns" the pictures of my family... what a racket. Strong recommendation, albeit based on 1 session. We'll be back for sure. read more

There are good photographers and great ones and let me say Mariah is one of the great ones! She was super easy to work with! Amazing sweet personality. Great to talk to. She made getting our photos taken a great experience! Mariah got all the photos the bride wanted and then some! Mariah was amazing! I hired her for my outdoor wedding; I would consider myself a high stress person, but she kept me calm(er) and kept things moving making sure I didn't look stressed in the photos. She kept making sure I had water, and she helped me look perfect on the day. We did a practice photo after we thought make up was done, then we realized we needed a little more contour as the natural light washed me out. She also helped a bunch when my dress wasn't cooperating. I absolutely love my wedding photos, and I typically don't like photos of myself. Mariah is simply wonderful! We hired her to do a family photography session. On the day of the shoot, we had several negatives going for us even before we even met up with Mariah: we were stuck in traffic and late arriving, our baby was pretty grumpy since it was getting closer to his bed time, and of course we brought our two dogs who decided that they did not want to listen to anyone (at least that part, we saw coming). I was thinking we'd be lucky to get one or two good photos considering how difficult our little family was being during the shoot. We got the photos about a week later and they were AMAZING! I can't say enough about Mariah! She was so accommodating, taking time out of her Easter Sunday to take pictures of our family. She did amazing job with everyone in the family, giving us great direction in what to do to get great pictures. Choosing a photographer for our wedding was one the things I cared most about going into the planning process. Working with Mariah for both engagement and wedding photos was a fantastic experience from start to finish. She is a super responsive communicator, very thoughtful, and had great suggestions for different points in the process (i.e. putting together outfits for engagement photos that will look nice on film). The turnaround on getting our photos back was also so impressive (just shy of 2 weeks), but clearly nothing was sacrificed in terms of quality. On the day of the wedding, Mairah made things so easy for all of us. We had some intermittent drippy weather, and she came prepared with umbrellas and even brought a second shooter to help manage all the logistics. She was great at managing group photos--getting people posed, interacting with kids to prompt a smile, and generally making a process that can sometimes feel arduous instead feel relaxed. We also ended up with some really lovely candids from various points in our day, and this is extra impressive because I know that the lighting at our venue was pretty challenging to work with! Overall, we are just so happy with our photos, and I feel like we absolutely lucked out in getting to work with Mariah.
