During that first meeting, Stephanie made sure to walk through the general look and feel of what she'd be doing during our wedding. We went over a pretty comprehensive list of family/group shots that we wanted, and she assured us that the day was going to be special. When she showed up for the day of the wedding, she was prepared and professional and definitely knew how to handle two anxious grooms who were running around making sure everything was good for the festivities. My partner and I just let Stephanie take the reins for how our photos were done, and I'm sure she would have preferred a *little* guidance, we're so glad we did, because her ideas were better than anything we could have come up with. Also, having that list of group shots was so important, because it made taking pictures with all of our family and friends fly by. Ricardo did a fabulous job shooting our wedding, rolled with the punches (weather! low lighting!…read morerebellious toddlers!) and got a good number of images back to me within half as many days as we'd agreed to. Before the wedding we met once to go over logistics and agree on a shot list. The meeting was pleasant and I left feeling confident that he understood what we wanted - mostly candids of our guests enjoying themselves during the reception and a quick family photo session in the park immediately following our ceremony. On the day of my wedding, about two hours before we were supposed to meet at Brooklyn Bridge Park we had to call off the park ceremony due to rain. We also pushed everything back an hour. Ricardo was very understanding and when I showed up at The Green Building (our reception venue) he was already there with his assistent, had shot all my precious little DIY details before the guests had a chance to settle in, and expertly captured our ceremony in a much different setting than we'd discussed. She photographed our engagement session, our tea ceremony, and finally our wedding day, and after working with her through all three, we can confidently say that choosing Sasha was one of the best decisions we made for our wedding. First and foremost, her work is incredible. Sasha has such a distinct creative and artistic eye. Both of us have modeling experience and have worked with a number of photographers before, so we already had a sense of what it feels like to be in front of a camera. Working with Sasha was different. There is a level of intention, confidence, and creative direction in the way she works that immediately stood out to us. She doesn't simply put you somewhere and take a beautiful photo. She takes the time and care to guide you as a couple. For example: how to position you, create movement, find the right composition, and make subtle adjustments that completely change the photograph. She knows what she's looking for and communicates it in a way that feels effortless. The weather turned out to be great so we met at the Sculpture Park. She made the session very fun and relaxing. It was easy to smile for her. I generally do not like to have my picture taken at all, or rather, do not enjoy looking at pictures of myself. That is why I was so pleasantly surprised when she sent me the link of the photos from the session, which she sent the same day as the session. She had taken lots of great pictures! I got to pick which ones to keep and she retouched them and sent the final link to me (as well as the invoice) via e mail. I will definitely be using her again for any future photography needs I may have, and would highly recommend her to others.
